I promised that I would make a thread about this here when it came out, and here it is, years later. The official release date was 2/7/2018.

Here's the trailer.

It's an HD remake of Treasure Adventure Game, a (free) metroidvania/adventure game released back in 2011. There are only a few references to the original on this forum, and ZERO direct references to the remake. Any of you guys played it? Played the original? What are your thoughts?

I played the original. It was cute and fairly fun.

I dabbled a bit with Treasure Adventure Game around the time I started using GoG because it was promoted on there as a free game. I don't remember much about it, but it didn't seem bad. No idea about the new game though. Is it an actual remake or it it an entirely different game?

Based on the footage I've seen, it's a remake with some new content on top.

I played the original but honestly can't remember much about it beyond the hook and a couple of levels. And a really annoying puzzle/whatever I couldn't figure out myself. Still. I have definitely been looking forward to this game a little bit. _{Though I'll probably just replay the original instead because it's free.}
