Clothing/Armor Sizes

Make it so that its easier to actually find/acquire clothing and armor that fits your character. Currently, with all the different sized animal people, its impossible to get new clothing for some characters, and you are stuck with whatever you start with.

How about in adventure mode, being able to request clothing or armour is made to your character size from urist mcworker... that way if you equiping say a tigerperson in a human town you can order the item/s and in a few days depending on mats and size or how many items are requested determines how soon they are available....

Well, it's not impossible at all, you just have to make it in a fortress yourself beforehand.
But, yeah, some places to order special sized armour and clothing would be good. And having towns produce a few where animal-man pops have joined the civilization would seem realistic too.

The sizing for clothing is quite restrictive in fortress mode, some custom method of setting your own size that doesn't require other-creature comparisons like humans & trolls would be nicer. I do think that requesting a fitting and spending a hour waiting in the shop would be more intuitive while they get your measurements and prepare it for adventure mode.

That would require implementing a 'real' measurements system, or just using an immersion breaking 'df size input'.

All the animal people are in the list, aren't they? When do you need custom sizes specifically?

Actually, it's kind of weird right now that armour for a six legged creature will fit a two legged one so long as they're in the same size range. I'd like to see, for example, 'fit for elephant men' to include custom helmets with trunk guards that aren't of any use to anyone else (and have the system be clever enough to adapt to modded critters).
