thats boring tho
It's only as boring as you make it! The most common character can be interesting and the most unique character can be bland, depending on the writer. Let's see what Matthias does before we return a verdict.

You are a Man.
Your father was a Criminal.
As a teenager, you became a Criminal.
Throughout your life, your dream has been to seek out Power.
Your virtue is Honor.
Your vice is Pride.
You are currently At a small wayside inn.
And finally your name is Red Mage.
Very subtle (before the last line), but I'm afraid my avatar is a bit too explosive for this game.

Man
Craftsman
Hunter
Adventure
Compassion
Pride
Seedy Tavern

His name is Matthias Klove.

((He's basically a Green Arrow/Hawkeye type character))

Your name is Matthias Klove and you are currently drinking away the dregs of your money in the Many Hands Taproom, a distinctly seedy establishment in the overall seedy town of Ardon.

It’s been a long winter, and you’ve spent more of it than you’d like in shoddy inns like this one. You would much rather be outdoors, but the vicious cold has ruined many a hunt over the past few months. With no game to be found, you find yourself nearing poverty once again.

The seasons keep turning, however, and spring has nearly arrived. At long last, the land will thaw and you’ll be on the move once more. As you drain the remains of the watery beer in your stein, you think over the events of the past year. It’s strange how much can change in one year, but stranger still how everything can still seem the same.

War happened. The Hendall Empire invaded from the south and began gnawing away at the clans of Elyrna, bit by bit. First Dun Carraig fell, then Kiersgate, then Fiahdral, and finally Ardon. After a winter of no campaigning, life almost seems to have returned to normal - except for the soldiers, dressed in the gold and brown of the Empire. After all the fighting ended, the armies remained, ready to wage war come spring. You gaze morosely across the taproom at a trio of soldiers drinking and laughing. Pricks.

It’s high time you got out of Ardon and back north to Elyrna proper. You miss the rolling hills and forests of oak, the soaring mountains and the scent of pine in the air.

You note that, unfortunately, your coin purse is depressingly light and you have next to nothing to barter with - except for your dagger, with its silver-bound hilt and small firestones in the pommel. It’s worth something, but not much: the blade is practical rather than ornate, there’s very little silver in the wire bindings, and the stones are hardly precious. Besides, you’d never barter it. It was a gift from your father on your tenth birthday, a last memento of him that you keep to this day.

You don’t really need money, though. With your bow in hand, you can easily keep yourself fed by hunting grouse and foraging for wild plants. The land takes care of you.

...Then again, it is nice to have money.

You consider your options. You could set out into the wilderness and rely on your skills to carry you northwards. On the other hand, the cold hasn’t completely faded and you don’t fancy riding into a blizzard, as unlikely as it is.

You could always pick off some game near town and sell it at a premium. Winter hit hard this year, and even the Hendalls would pay good coin for fresh meat. That could help restock your purse, thus allowing you to make important purchases - like more beer. You glance down at your stein. The bottom of the empty vessel stares back up at you. Damn.

Then again, war is a time of opportunity. No true Elyrnan would fight for the Empire, but you’re not entirely opposed to receiving some of their gold. They seem to pay better than some of the clans, that’s certain.

And finally, there is the possibility that they don’t need to know that they paid you in the first place. You’ll be out of Hendall lands in no time, after all, and you’re sure they don’t need all of those horses they’ve brought up from the south. It's not exactly moral, but maybe that's the kind of person you are.

Hunting game and selling pelts seems like a decent start.

Damnit people, this is why I said to keep the truce. Because now everyone's ganging up on the cats.
Also, don't forget to contact your local Eldritch Being(s), so that they can help with our mission to destroy the universe.

Enough waiting around! We're good enough to stand a bit of snow and this place is boring. North we go!

Hunt and sell meat and pelts... but observe the soldiers as we go in and out for how likely we can steal from them before leaving later.

Pride

Can we at least follow the concept of our boring character some?
