Hell Yeah! Sunpetal, Goddess of Beauty, has embarked on an adventure!

You don your crimson battle robes, and a pair of stilettos that conceal a pair of cosmicly sharp blades; It is time to lead your troops into glorious battle and sieze control of the local afterlife for yourself!

...That is if you can find it! You spend the better part of a year following the the streams of ether, wind, and water in search of an afterlife with absolutely zero luck. Some in your host begin to murmur that you are wasting your time over a single mortal soul. Perhaps it is time to change up tactics.

A: No! I will stay the course and find the afterlife now matter how long it takes, even if that means missing opportunities back home.
B: My throne needs me more than my host does! I shall return home and entrust this mission to my capable troops.
C: We can find the afterlife by following a soul. Lets find and kill a mortal!
D: My forces are right to question me. I didn't know hunting this afterlife thing would take so long. Lets give it up and return home before I run out of things to wear!

C!

That's the kind of lateral thinking that marks a true god! Plus we are assaulting wherever they're gonna head off to, so we can resurrect them in the process. Probably.

You instruct your host to scour the local area for a mortal that you might kill and follow to the afterlife.

Several hours later, your troops present you with a brown arachnid about the size of a large dog, which they assure you is sentient. You nod, and bring a bladed shoe down on the victim's head! Almost instantaneously, it's soul takes flight, and just as quickly your troops begin their pursuit!

---

You spend a few weeks chasing the soul, before it slips through a small crack in the seabed. Following it through, you find yourself in a large, well lit, underwater chamber. Before you sits a small fortress made of bone and metal; You can sense a powerful being inside. Between the collective wisdom of you and your troops, it is quickly deduced that this afterlife is a Seat of Judgement, something usually only found in older worlds with several large and advanced pantheons.

The being inside this fortress would be this world's Lord of the Dead, who likely reports directly to the ruler of a pantheon, and preforms two important functions; The first job of a lord of the dead is to actively tamper with the metaphysics of the world in such away to allow multiple afterlives to exist. Their second job is to judge the souls of the recently departed and send them to a fitting afterlife.

You call your officers around, to discuss strategy...

A: The Lord of this fortress isn't expecting us! Let us storm the walls!
B: I will use some essence to create mighty siege engines, and we will reduce this place to rubble!
C: It is unlikely that Tuft's soul is still here. Let us parlay with the Lord of the Dead, find out where they sent her, and march on the correct afterlife!
D: Shit guys... I'm not sure I want this fight. The metaphyiscal and political consequences of attacking such an important afterlife may be vast. Lets just head home.

While blowing up the Seat of Judgment would be amazing I think it'd end poorly for us. Also this god hasn't done us any wrong so we might as well buddy up to them.

As above, plus maybe a God of Judgement could make a good addition to our court.

You grab your most handsome and respectable looking soldier, and point towards the fortress doors. "Go, announce my presence, I wish to to meet the Lord of the Dead."

Several minutes later a small host of Cthulhuoid Soldiers exit the fort to escort you in. A table is set up, and on it a great feast featureing meats from both the land and the sea. At the head of the table sits a massive black sea lion, who wears a crown made from the skull of some great reptile. Your host introduces himself as Bark-Ark, a god of the hunt who currently reigns over the various underworlds as Lord of the Dead.

After pleasantries are out of the way, Bark-Ark offers you some wine, and inquires as to why you have come to visit him. You take a deep breath and launch into negotiations!

After hearing your story, Bark-Ark frowns.

"I remember this Tuft of yours. She pleaded to me that she was under the protection of a beautiful Goddess called Sunpetal, but I had heard of no such being before and thought her a liar. I had the thief's soul sent to The Kiln, a Pandemonium where departed souls are made into various servants for my master. By now, Tuft's soul will have been torn apart to used as material to bake several supernatural beings. As 'Tuft' no longer exists as a single entity, I am afraid you have failed to keep your promise... and it is all my fault. I must make it up to you! Whatever shall I do?"

A: Send word to the Kiln. I want custody over all the beings Tuft's soul is part of.
B: Replace my mortal child with an immortal one! Take me to your bedchambers, and spend your essence to ensure I conceive a deity!
C: I am new in this world, and desire allies. Organize a feast in my honor, and invite your master's pantheon!
D: I can't think of anything you can do now, so I shall take my leave. However, Beware! You owe me a favor and I WILL call it in later.
E: I cannot forgive this transgression! Troops! Storm the walls!
F: I cannot forgive this transgression! You best ready your defenses, for I am going to make cannons and reduce this place to rubble!
