What actually makes DF great

I just wanted to share a thought and see what you guys think.
For me what makes DF the best game ever is actually this community and otherwise it wouldn't really be that big of a thing.

I used the wiki to learn it in one evening, but the wiki is made by the community, so yeah.

The community wouldnt wiki if the game wasnt great, its not like they just grow up and stick with random games.

I think its the plump helmets are psychodelic.

Bumber:
It's a fort builder in ASCII. Flowing liquids and machinery are nice. It's still being actively developed, with procedural magic on the way.
