Bigger embarks get more sieges / megabeasts?
« on: April 15, 2018, 04:16:17 am »

Will there be more megabeasts and sieges if the embark area is bigger? If they are moving around on the world map it would make sense that they are more likely to hit a big area than a 1-square one.

They don't hit you at random. An entity chooses to siege you then heads for your site. Size won't matter.

The effects of a larger embark are:
- It takes longer to move from the edge to the center, giving you more warning time, but also a longer waiting time.
- If there are multiple biomes on the embark, the pool of critters available to enter the embark is larger, but the limit remain at 1 group at a time (2 if any tile of the embark is savage [I don't know if a savage biome "spilling over the edge" into the embark affects this, but suspect it does]).
- More resources.
- Typically more FPS drain.

Thanks! Good to know, I was about to start 8x1 embark to maximise the accidental bump in chance but will skip it.

Pillage every civ and they will all come to siege you.
