Swapping out burial receptacles

Pancakes:
I'm thinking about swapping out a dwarf's base quality conglomerate coffin for a masterwork steel sarcophagus. Should I be worried about him coming back as a ghost, if I swap out the receptacles quickly enough?

Heck, is it possible in the first place?

You can, and it won't be a problem.

If you have other empty coffins placed they might try to bring him there, so you have to forbid the corpse or toggle the other coffins off until the new one is ready.

heh, if it existed as a command from the q menu of a coffin it would seem more respectful than what is actually needed to be done with.. i think deconstructing the coffin/sarcofogus and dumping the body out before moving it to a new one.
