You feel... serene, seeing everything so small below you. Without anything running next to you down to the ground, like when you climbed that rock, you don't get a sense of how far there is to fall, and the bark cord around your waist further reassures you. Instead, the world seems smaller somehow, or yourself larger. Less overwhelming.

The bird flies past mountain after mountain, sparse trees and bushes among the rocks below. You don't see any creatures, but the bird says there are some. "How do you know?" you ask.

"Have you never heard the phrase 'eagle-eyed'?"

You confess that you haven't.

As the sun draws low in the sky, you near the edge of the mountains, and the bird comes to a roost on the branch of another scraggly tree, with you still strapped to its leg. "Are you hungry, little friend? What do you eat anyway?"

If you've seen any tower caps I like to brush the spores out and make greycakes. They're nice with dried sourwort dust! Or you can mix crimson caps and doughcaps into a ground paste and make a drink. Or.. Fluorescent-plaid-shields are... healthy... raw...

You tell the eagle you prefer bugs and mushrooms. It's not sure exactly where to find those, but says that there should be some around. You set about to look for some, trusting in your garden skills, and indeed, in damp places beneath stumps and below rocks, you find some you recognize. Before long you've gathered an armful of tender mushrooms and bugs. Master was always very watchful when teaching you to build a fire, so you're a bit nervous as you go about it, but soon you've got a cheerful little flame over which to cook your meal.

It's starting to smell real good when something lands in your fire, scattering the coals and almost your meal. Looks like a length of wood with a point on the end.

"REVENGE!" calls a voice from nearby. A hairy creature emerges from the bushes. It stands around the same height as your master did, with a long tail swishing behind it. One hand holds what looks like a hatchet, made of stone. "The monkeys shall have revenge on the eagles!"

Ask what they are talking about, and try to look cute and confused

Stumble back in bewildered concern and ask them to stop.

Attempt to convince the monkey, using the mask, that I am its friend, then bite its face off while it's disarmed.

How about we don't bite its face off.

Attempt to calm down the monkey with the help of your mask, and ask what's going on.
