Did I break the siege?
« on: May 17, 2018, 02:04:13 pm »

In my most recent fortress, a Necromancer showed up with two soldiers directing hordes of undead. All the Necromancer did, however, was wander around the map before going to the edge and walking off. One of the undead hordes dispersed because something happened to the soldier directing it, and the other one is camped out near a river around the Hedgehog man/woman recruit leading it.
My question is, does closing all paths into the fortress/burrowing everyone when the siege arrives prevent the necromancer from directing the hordes toward your fortress, or is it a normal activity for the necromancer themselves to escort the horde, then leave? I've got a drawbridge built in front of the only entrance and raised it after the necro showed up.

Sieges only last so long before they go "You know what, fuck this. We got better things to do." You can effectively camp out any invasion or attack, assuming you're self sufficient.

There are "hello/goodbye" sieges allegedly caused by armies just passing through your fort on the way to somewhere else.

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

Were they living soldiers directing the battle?
That's a bug which was meant to have been fixed a couple of versions ago (44.06), but was a bit tricky you catch as I recall. What version are you playing?
