Assigning Mayor with a program

So I was playing adventure mode. And when i retired my adventurer at my fort my mayor in the fort was killed by a beakdog. I can't assign a new mayor and my millitia commander is bugged. Can I assign a new mayor with a program like Dwarf Therapist? Or will I have to find or make one?

If your in fortress mode you need to wait for next elections IIRC
