Omega Revenant: Catch A Falling Star
« on: June 21, 2018, 04:22:01 am »

Prologue

Omega Base shakes violently, to it's very core. Brilliant light, of all colors and of colors unseen, radiates from within, traces arcs, lines, patterns across the canyon floor, the cliffs, the air and sky. Peals of thunder precede a lightning storm with strikes so close together they could be a single, continuous bolt racing from Earth to sky, sky to earth, and everywhere in between. The ground groans and buckles. The very space in which Omega base exists warps - stretching, curving, peeling away as if the universe were bending backward onto itself. The Rains fall in torrents, obscuring what had been illuminated by the lightning.

Outside the Base, in the desert surrounding Omega proper, The world goes darker than black, quieter than silence. And then the dark begins to peel back, revealing massive steel walls, a hundred feet tall. Beyond, a city emerges form the Night, wrapping about the bent world like a blanket of civilization around a dead rock. as the city emerges past the halfway point, the buildings, streets, and other things begin to get more crowded. thre quarters of the way around, the buildings smash into, merge with, or destroy one another in violent explosions as they vie for more and more limited space. At the point exactly opposite Omega Base proper, the City Wall forms a solid Column - a steel spire three hundred feet wide and eight hundred tall. A dozen elongated gates ring the base of the Spire, leading into a central room a couple dozen feet across, with a single Gateway in it's center.

Throughout the newly formed world, the lightning strikes leave behind radiant beings - Branded Beings once mourned. The radiance fades from each in it's own pace, in it's own way. Most stagger and fall to the ground, some unconscious, some merely breathless, others wounds, a few simply weeping for gratitude at a second chance -a chance that an Omega never expects to receive.

Other beings rise up from inside Omega - chains forged in darkness shattering under the light. They spread out to wreak havoc wherever they go. Some mindless, some malicious, all destructive, they leave trails of bloodshed and brokenness in their wake. A smaller group races out after them, seeking to halt their rampage, to bring them under control once more. the Omega Officers find their hands full, chasing some of the most unstable of Omegas in an effort to reign them in, to find some sense of order again in a World gone Mad.

Other points of interest:
Officer Country: whee the leadership lives and works.

The Dark Grey Market: not really a specific location, though many of these shops ar eat teh opposite end of Omega Base from Officer Country. Here, you can purchase dangerous and darker items or contraband. most purchases here are risky. You might get what you want, but there might be horrible side effects. Or you might just get robbed.

Cafeteria: Big open hall with food and tables. Accomodates a wide variety of races.

Arena:three separate arenas for sparring, combat, or sporting events. Gamble at your own risk.

The City: Bridge City was transported to Omega base in it's entirety. It surrounds the Base on all sides with large walls, and wraps completely around the mini-planet that Omega has become, with a big pillar jutting out the backside where the city's former outer wall has become a tall spire all folded in on itself. inside the Spire is a room with a teleportation gateway.

Edited my sheet, bought a basic melee weapon with 5 coins and kept the remaining 5 coins for later.

Edited it again.

Hmm, I know some of you are still workign out the details, and some others are still doing so in the other thread bfore they post their sheets here.

Random, your's looks fine
Egan, likewise

Xan, you still have to restat a bit due to the Lathal reward lowering
Spaz, likewise. please have a look at the othe rthread whe nyou get a chance, and make a couple adjustments. Hope this isn't too frustrating

Lenglon, your sheet, once you get those stats balanced, should be okay.

Still waiting on Pan, Dev, and Dino to post their sheets, and hoping Angry Demon Noises hasn't given up on us.

Question, how does stat skill distribution work exactly? Do we have points at start?

Sheet will go here.>

All stats start at the "basic" level. to raise one stat one tier, lower tow stats one tier, or one stat two tiers (two stats to weak or one to cursed).
once that is done, each stat's substats start at 0, 0, 0 and you can raise one and lower another by one point (-1, 0, 1)

In regard to that special: that's way to light a cost to get "all points spent in teh dex substat cont as 2" and "first 5 points in the strength substat  count as 2"
additionally, at character generation, please balance each stat's substat so that the total number under that stat is 0
I.e: Body stat (0, 0, 0) or Mind stat (-1, 0, 1) instead of shifting substat points between stats.

Creature type is much broader than that. Yours would probably be considered humanoid. Race is fine, affinity is fine.
with spec stat at 0 (or basic level) you get three specializations. these tend ot be fairly flexible. "Sneaking" "Swords" "intimidation" are some examples, though there are others.
