I found this old panel behind an old office building. A sticker on the back is labeled
Candy-Tech Ind.
40,46,-72 Magma Sea
Eribronstiz, Region34
It smells of dried elf blood, is stained with dried elf blood, has a small nick in the corner, and has a burned in image of a giant spider made of ash, with glowing pink eyes, throwing an elf corpse at a squad of hammerdwarves (wait, why do I know what dried elf blood smells like? How can I tell it was made of ash from burn-in?). I got it hooked up to 5V, and it powers on. I am
so making a retro themed MAME console with this, once I can figure out the pinout and address scheme.
But seriously, this is a cool tileset. I realized, when trying to move to a newer LNP that I had been using this tileset for weeks, without changing anything. I use normal colors with it, of course. As someone that has tried different sets over the years, and lately days or weeks, only to go right back to Mayday again an again, for a decade, that's saying something. That I need more therapy than my starting miner, who almost got killed by a reanimated cobra tooth, while flooring over where the wagon used to be (100 evil and savagery; drastic measures were needed),
sure, but also something about the graphics set. It's very comfortable to my eyes, unlike plain ASCII, or most ASCII-like tilesets, but still has a degree of distinction between tiles that 'clicks' with my brain.
Simple as it is, it was easy to add to my LNP, too.
