I'm gonna shoot Hikano as many times as I can.

That is exactly 1 time.
Roll 27. Hit
Torso+0 crit, bonus from aim 38-27=11/10=1 (rounded down). Total crit chance 7
Crit roll 26. No crit.

Damage 5-12, roll 12. *2 from ammo DM. -2DT. DR 25+25 = 50. Total base damage 22, final damage 11.

Hikano takes a bullet to the chest, tumbling through the armor and leaving a nasty-looking hole. Hikano 11/22 (Ok it was a good idea to give you armor afterall.)

Frank ends his turn (+1 AC).

Gifted is pretty much a must have. Terribly broken.

Everything looks fine. I want to know how a character not built for combat performs into a fight.

Are sneak, steal and lockpick meant to be that low?

Turns out they kinda suck at it.

Yes, Good Natured does not add to them, Gifted takes away from them. Since you seem to know the game you can test it out if you want :P

Really, why that number?

Aimed shot, then retreat to Tile 64

Aimed shot where, with what?

Gun 21% torso, -- head, --- eyes, --- groin, --- arms, 1% legs
Punch/Kick 32% torso --- head, -- eyes, 2% groin, 2% arms, 10% legs

Aimed shots are basically called shots in most games. They have the opposite effect of increasing your aim, but in return they give a bonus to critical hit chance equal to their penalty to aim, in addition to giving new critical effects.

That is just a normal shot then :V

Assuming gun shot. Roll 88, miss either way. 11/12 bullets (like the otherguy also has.)

Hikano is now at 6,4.+1 AC

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It is now Frank's turn.

I just thought that it was a bit odd that my unarmed combat and melee weapons were considerably higher since I have good natured and no strenght.

I just thought that it was a bit odd that my unarmed combat and melee weapons were considerably higher since I have good natured and no strenght.

Unarmed Combat is pretty easy to start with-look at Hikano's sheet for example. I think it is designed that way so you can punch things to death if you don't have any other skills or weapons. They also typically have some easy early game ways of getting it up, such as in Fallout 2 were you could talk to a random guy in a bar and get a free 10%.

Edit: The formula for Unarmed is 30+2(Agility+Strength). So your high agility helped too

The fact I got hit is surprising..

I mean it was a 2/5 chance of hitting. About 40-60, hitting really isn't a big surprise.
If the guy who tagged small arms never hit at point-blank all the fights would last forever :V

Shoot him in the torso.

49-9-1-15-30-4*3+16*3=30% chance.
Roll 36. Near miss. 10/12 bullets. +1 AC

It is now Hikano's turn.

Well he has got a gun with a range of 25. You would need to be ~11 tiles away for him to have 0 to hit with his current accuracy, this is a very close range test.

Your aim to the torso would be
41-6-15-1-30-4*3+16*2 = 9%

Right, I'm out.

Jumps off the south edge of the stage and retreats.

Oh, and fire a shot at his crotch as I retreat, maybe I'll shatter a kneecap or something.

Bloodied and slightly bowed, Hikano retreats from the stage! Fight over, winner Frank! The crotch shot has less than 0% of hitting, and crashes uselessly into the wall.

One of the advantages of high agility: You can run away like a pro.

Notes from the first test:
-As expected, fights will be relatively lethal. I will have to implement a mercy rule. For example, getting down to 0 HP will instead give you the Knockout condition, taking you out of the fight but not the game. Adding in save points is another possibility, but doesn't seem as fun.
-Rolls are fairly easy to roll, I could probably keep your hit chance formulas in the character sheet. Issues about complexity don't seem to exist, for the most part. I should be able to run it without issue.
-May or may not get tilesets to work when the actual game starts. At the very least, everyone will be able to pick what their character looks like, and I can change it up with armor.

Alright! On to the next test! We currently have three players, so it will probably be two on one. This time we will test item use alongside normal combat. Each player will be given Stimpacks, Cow Pie (Chem, stats: +1 to all SPECIAL 24 hours, no stacking), and other common items of their choice. Lets see if I can handle the added complexity :V

Edgar, Hikano, Frank: Pick any common items you would like to use.
