What about DFhacking something that is stable, but impossible? Like making a dwarf his own grandpa, swapping the souls of a demon and a horse, sending the fort 500 years into the past, or constructing a labyrinth out of slade?

Why not make everything into one, and build a labyrinth out of slade, in the past with demon horses and Self Grandpa's Dwarves?

Yeah, there's plenty of information out there, but you don't need that information to form an opinion and then defend it to the death.
Hey, don't be like that. Your life never had any meaning in the first place!

I think the intention is that one player doesn't fuck up the world for future players.

i.e. you hack magma to heat things to 2000, not 12000°U - now next player can't use it to start fires.

All the hacks must be used to allow you to build your megaproject faster, as an example, I planned to build a giant Fortress made of steel and candy, so I edited the reactions RAW and made the "Make Adamantine Wafer" reaction give me 50 bars of steel and 50 bars of adamantine wafers  asking for no reagent and no fuel, and used "fastdwarf 1 1" (Teleport) to allow my dwarves to be Fast. That's all I needed, maybe should add in a few more cheats to use different materials, but so far this is it. Once I'm done, I get a copy of an ordinary RAW folder and paste it back in replacing the modded one. The idea here is to create wonderful places to explore on adventurer mode with, or without treasures to loot.

Personally, I just wanted to make life worse for the worlds inhabitants

If nobody else wants to go first I guess I can try.

Also i've never actually modded Dwarf fortress before so wish me luck in not screwing up.

Create a world and give us some screenshots of the world itslef and the location you picked for your project. Later on should be uploading some info and maybe even some screenshots on your progress

Generating a world now.

In the meantime here is my project idea.

I basically want to make Yggdrasil. A huge tree in the middle of a grassy area.
The thing is, to make it dwarfier I am going to make the trunk out of copper, and the leaves out of green glass.

Make sure to make it climbable. Extra points if you cage a bunch of !FUN! on different spots of it!

How do I post images?

The world is medium size, year 151, and default rest.
It has a volcano on a island,
a small terrifying glacier,
terrifying ocean,
two joyous wilds
badlands,
savanna,
grasslands,
and etc.

It is quite large to accommodate for many mega structures, while also having very few goblins, some dwarves and MANY Elves

Do remember that usually, adventurers are humans, usually...

How do I post images?

Take screenshots, post them on imgur, grab the link for the image on Imgur (Make sure to grab the one in BBCode), paste on your report.

A map of Westeros (worldgen from Meph's pack), using 1 cavern layer would be nice to populate with stuff.
I don't know the steps to tweak world gen to entice civs to pop all over.
I know I'd like an above ground castle / keep of sorts, taking almost all of a 3x3 embark.

I'm interested if the world is medium or less , and 1 cavern layer max.

Huh. I can't help but wonder: What kind of world would be good for this?

My kneejerk thought is to want some STRONG 10k human and goblin sites, but...Raids and cheating in what you'd trade make that bit unnecessary, now do they?

I suggest using biomemanipulator at the start of worldgen (before civ placement) for faunadiversity/floradiversity (since it's harder to populate civ access lists after they're placed), and 1 cavern for fps.

I'm going to tentatively say: sign me up.

I simply have no idea whatsoever on how to use these map generation manipulators, so sorry :/

I have no idea how to change those generation settings  :-\

The world is medium with 3 cavern layers.

Also I am currently working on a reaction to make free copper
