Author Topic: Transferring saves between Windows and Linux -- any caveats?  (Read 725 times)

I play from two different computers at times, and I would really like to be able to sync my DF world between them instead of playing two separate games.
But I'm a little concerned that save game corruption might ensue. Anyone have experience doing this?

I would normally just use remote access but in this case it is unavailable because reasons.

NOTE: I'm not talking about playing two forts in the same world or anything hacky like that. I'm talking about playing on a Windows PC, saving, uploading the save, then downloading it to a Linux PC and continuing there.

I share (using google drive) one save between my debian and win8.1 (don't judge me, it is my work computer). Didn't have any problems

Oh good.
Just realized it also means I can participate in succession games. Woot!
