I pit them in a rock room and hope that they can breed... which is understandably difficult because they probably are already married to others... They are constantly cruising around the place, passing by each other so at least they have chance to converse and maybe befriend each other.

I know it's cruel to confine these beasts in small space because they are intelligent and energetic wild animals, moving back and forth being a typical stereotypy which means they are bored... but knowing no mercy they stole red spinach leaves and probably murdered a couple of bards or lord consorts! This is the punishment.
