a mysterious thing has happened in my fort

i modded some of the raws for the boulder crabs allowing the females to lay real eggs and allowing the males to lay flux stone. now the eggs have hatched but it doesnt show a gender of the hatchling, when it grows to an adult it becomes a stray nothing

Share the full raws for the creature if you want debugging help, otherwise it's a guessing game.  My guess is no [FEMALE] token.

The version of DDD that I had right on hand (from Masterwork V1.29 for 43.05) seems like it is already set up to have females lay eggs and males lay flux stone:

i am using an older version of masterwork, but i eventually figured it out, i had 2 lines of code that were identical

 [CASTE:FEMALE]
      [CASTE:FEMALE]
      [CASTE_NAME:female boulder crab:female boulder crabs:boulder crab]
      [FEMALE]
         [LAYS_EGGS]



edit: new game is running fine, and i have a very nice flux stone factory going with them breeding now
