Mummies disappear outside the tomb

I went into a tomb as a vampire adventurer. The mummy started following me, but when I left and it walked into the doorway it immediately disappeared. Why is this happening? (Note: It was daytime, maybe sunlight kills mummies)

I've noticed this before, I just assumed it was just the sun, but at 1 point, it disappeared before it even left the tomb... well.. it was still there, but invisible on my game, but hovering over the spot that it was at showed it still there, and it didn't do anything, I think its just glitched, considering that it disappears off the map, but its still there, but its AI is gone from it. (doesn't curse me or anything).
