Twisted Azalea
Classic
Part II: Ruthless Aggression
Valdosta, Georgia
Sunrise, Sunny, 12/18/2020

"This ain't my house, this ain't your home..." the song continues as the train roars through Valdosta. Itching the bee stings on his arms, ignoring the swelling in a frenzy of focus, Bishop George Blyth takes a look at the map in the front, aiming to find any kind of megachurch close by he can run past. His past life as a servant of YHVH in The War of the Rich Man's Fortune has reminded him of the fervor a religious mob can handle. And considering he's a man of the cloth, why not go for it? [Search: 2] Unfortunately, the map doesn't turn out very many results. There is a small church just northwest, but it's not the size he wants. Still, after a minute more of traveling, he stops there, hops off, and pursues his lead. [Convince: 3+2 (Religious)] He bursts through the doors confidently and tells them "My children! The Lord hath spoken to me! The wicked devils in main Valdosta are tearing the town apart, and He needs my guidance! Who is with thee!" Considering how the last War ended up, skepticism isn't high. Yes, in fact the war between Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes is still raging thanks to the betrayals bitter-ing the latter's heart. But none of them are in the mood to fight, save for five younger people who grab their bags and get going.

Stepping up inside the Light Cruiser for the first time this battle, Korol Solo immediately goes to give orders. "Get us up in orbit, we're gonna bomb the place," he tells the pilots, who then tell the relevant crew to get inside. While starting up safety checks, Korol begins to go around the ship, talking to people to get an exact headcount. An officer walking on deck answers "We have the bare minimum to make the craft run, sir. About...five-hundred strong? Perhaps around that."

Sighing and filled with regret for the future travesty he is close to committing, Aeyon Fellwind whispers a quick prayer. "Elbereth forgive me... the situation requires this vile art," he begs, before placing down his portable bioprocessor and getting it work. With a simple cotton swab in hand, too small and inconsequential to be noted down otherwise, he grabs some germ cells from his cheek and places them in the processor, beginning to work. [Genetic Research: 10+2 (Genetic Science) +2 (Intelligence)] What he produces is an ungodly plague, easily the most powerful disease ever spliced by the hands of a human, or elf in this case. The disease, when inflicted, causes the infected to become weak-willed and subservient to the Host (in this case, Aeyon), capable of doing their bidding and their bidding alone. However, it comes with some physical side-effects, namely an increase in bile production (which spreads the virus) and pain, in addition to light sensitivity. In essence, Aeyon has developed a Voodou Zombie plague, and he is the necromancer who can command his army of the "dead". At least, that's the plan. Nurturing a whole plague is not an instant process, but with how far he's gotten, it will only take a few more minutes (one turn) to finish.

With sorrow in his voice, pain in his soul, and far more literal pain spreading across his weakened right arm, Thomas kneels down by his fallen comrade for but a second to cry out "This has gone downhill decidedly quickly. Barney, my closest friend! How it saddens me to see you wounded so!" Looking around at both of the dastardly duos deigning to decimate him, Thomas comes up with a quick plan, and then draws his pistol in his left hand. [6 v 9] Whirling around, he fires at Ethan Daine, missing narrowly but managing to throw him off, before suddenly beginning to sing a powerful song. [5 v 1 (John)/3 (Markus)/2 (Ethan)/5 (Morgan)] "AAAAAAAAVE MARIAAAAAAAA!~" he suddenly belts out, letting out a power soundwave just in time to turn his head and attack the Androids. John is blow back against the car, shattering the driver's side window and splintering glass into John's back, spilling Thirium onto the ground. In addition, the impact knocks the JB300 out of the passenger's side and sends him onto the ground [Injury: 1], not doing much more than giving him a surprise. Markus is thrown over the hood of the car, but otherwise just dazed. Turning his head, he continues singing "JUNGFRAAUUUU MIIIIILD!~, this time towards Ethan Daine and Morgan. Ethan is thrown back onto his back, disarming him of his knife as it clatters to the ground. Morgan actually manages to stay up, but he clutches his ears as though his eardrums were close to bursting. With that done, Thomas grabs Barney and tries to pull him up [Strength: 1-2 (Right Arm)] but then drops him, bonking him on the head and dazing him more. Instead, he drags Barney inside the house, and goes to fix both of their wounds. [Medical: 10] With bandages, disinfectant, and painkillers in hand, he manages to fix up his arm and cover Barney's wounds within a mere minute of entering the house, patting his bear friend on the head.

Despite the blue blood pouring down his back from the glass shards, John still stands back up. As an Android, he feels no pain, and so ignores the inconsequential damage. With no clear shot at Thomas Scott or the bear, and Markus still getting back up from being thrown over the hood of the car, he alone switches targets. He raises his gun up, and fires at the plague doctor and suited fellow once each. [9 v 4] Ethan Daine starts to get up just in time to catch a bullet to his hip, sending him back down to the ground. [6 v 5] Morgan, meanwhile, is merely grazed in the left ear, ripping out a chunk of cartilage. Markus then follows suit, finally getting up and firing two bullets of his own, this time into the house to at least try and kill Thomas and Barney. [7-2 (No Clear Shot) v 5] A bullet rips through the wall just above Thomas' head, cutting his time to recover short. [2-2 (No Clear Shot) v 8] On the second shot, the bullet jams on the casing from the previous shot, leaving Markus with an extra bullet, but no chance to intervene. Luckily, the knife wielding JB300 suddenly runs into the house [Spot: 3], but since he didn't stop to ask Markus or John where they entered in at, he goes upstairs and fails to check the kitchen Thomas and Barney are hiding in.

Looking over the starship with a most judgemental gaze, the King of Castle Peaks sneers and crouches down on the roof of the city hall, thinking of a plan of how to dispose of it. If it manages to launch, it's weapons capabilities may very well be enough to destroy the whole town, whole city, possibly even wherever the battle spreads. He looks over to his Archer, and remembering a piece of his personal history, asks of him "Archer, I've heard tales of a certain blade in your collection. Caladbolg I believe it is called. I'm asking for you to fire it at that ship." He gestures to the Light Cruiser as it's engines light up. "If it gets too high into the air, then us and everyone else in this city will be at the mercy of its cannons. I cannot claim to know where the vital components are, but see if you can perhaps hit some of the weapons themselves to limit its damage potential, but if you believe you could bring it down in one shot, do not hesitate to try." Archer stands up and breathes in deeply, before simply stating "Trace on." A bow and the drill-like sword in question emerge, in his hands, and as he primes the shot, he explains "Sure, I'll hit the weapons. But hopefully, it stops just about dead center." [5 v 10] Archer fires at the weapons, but as he launches the Broken Phantasm, an automatic defense turret comes online and blasts Caladbolg II, causing it explode violently in mid-air. [Size: 6] The explosion doesn't catch anyone inside, but everyone, even George Blyth all the way at the Megachurch and the people inside the Light Cruiser, can see the massive fireball, and the shockwave shakes buildings. A thunderous boom overtakes the whole town. "Damn," Archer responds. "I'll have to try that one again." [Ice Magic: 8] In the meanwhile, The King of Castle Peak composes a magnificent set of Ice Armor that should protect him easily. (+2 to Defense until compromised)

Even with a bullet in his hip, the pain radiating through the open wound and coursing through his body, Ethan Daine still gets up and grabs his knife, making a run towards Thomas Scott and Barney. Kicking the door open, he finds Thomas Scott, hands over head on the floor to avoid the bullets. He raises his knife up [7 v 7] only for Thomas to dodge the resulting downwards stab towards his neck. Standing up, Thomas braces himself for the fight as Ethan lets off a shallow follow-up slash [2 v 10] only for Thomas to dodge backwards just far enough that by the time Ethan recovers from the swipe, Barney has stood back up with a grimace on his face. [5 v 1] Ethan turns around just in time to get smacked by Barney's paw, sent flying through the door into the living room. Wood splinters and shallowly stabs into his right arm, and the force of the impact against both the door and the ground after further bruises the same arm.

Breathing in slowly and peeking her head out from behind the corner of the house, Yang tries to take stock of the situation as best she can. [Spot: 10] The shockwave and still fading fireball alone make it clear that a large and loud explosion just sprang forth. On the roof of what seems to be City Hall (although the signs and markings are written in a script she had never seen before), a frost-bitten looking man and a tan human in a red shroud seem to be behind that explosion. The sounds of gunfire fill the air, and most pressingly, there is a giant airship just sitting just slightly out of town, and it does not look friendly in the slightest. Weiss sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose. "I have no idea what's going on, and quite frankly? I'm too scared to ask," she says, while Blake focuses on the task ahead and asks "So, what's the plan Ruby?" Yang herself looks over the airship and posits "Big ship means big guns. Should we take it down, sis?" Ruby nods, and cocks Crescent Rose's bolt. "We should try. If they fire on us, a lot of people could get caught in the middle. Let's do what we can, team!" And thus, the team stands from cover and does just that, with Yang firing first. [1 v 10+2 (Starship Plating)] Firing Dust rounds out of Ember Celica, Yang blasts the airship. However, her blasts don't even make a dent in the ship because of the tough armor plating it has, and what's more, it's auto-defense turret has just locked onto the threat. [9 v 6+2 (Cover)] "Oh shi-!" Yang calls out as she heads back behind the building just as the plasma beam shot fires, blasting the team away and sending them flying. The sheer force of the turbolaser is muffled by the impact of the ground, but the shockwave and resulting landing has cost them fifteen "points" of Aura each. The impact sends Yang's eyes burning red as the rest get up and get back behind cover, dazed but otherwise okay.

The pilots and engineers start to get the Light Cruiser off the ground.

Helena Harper and Subject 23 disappear.

In their place, firstly, comes from the North of the city. With the stolen tech of the Pilum laser in hand, a GDI Supreme Commander walks onto the battlefield with his crew: five GDI infantry soldiers, and a wooden statue of none other than the Virgin Mary, hands clasped in prayer. "Don't do anything stupid," Supreme Commander Zachary Harkin tells them.

Meanwhile, from the South walks a White Mage. An almost dog-like figure clad in white robes shuffles onto the battleground, healing staff and various magical artifacts in hand.

Wow, I’m really close to becoming shatterbird. Reload, Get behind some cover, shoot people that try to get in. And Ethan Daine.  I also try to figure  out a way to broadcast a call to arms, try to get people on my side.

”Ahem. That worked out pretty well, if I do say so myself.

(Only in a Wiki War would a Star-Wars battle cruiser and a pair of Fate Servants not be the most dangerous things on a battlefield)

"Damnit, fire quickly, we don't want to give it the chance to return fire."

The king forgoes reinforcing his position for the all-to likely possibility that it will need to be abandoned quickly in case of return fire. Instead, he will attempt to strike down his foes directly.
If any seemingly vulnerable enemy Warriors are visible from my position, attempt to spear them with ice spikes from a distance

"Alright crew we are already under heavy attack, our enemies appear to be fielding heavy firepower. I want to see everyone act to their fullest potential. Gunners, you will identify who attacked us and concentrate your fire on them, make sure that they won't repeat such an attack. Communication officer, go make a request for reinforcements, given how much heat we've attracted we're going to desperately need them, also open up a communications channel with the planetary government once we're in orbit. I will be personally inspecting the ship, Chertyl will be in command until I return. Let's get our peacekeeping mission done!"

Give the crew their orders and head off to inspect the ship. I'm mainly looking at the armory and the brig, I'm still uncommited whether I'm going to try pacifism again or just nuke the site from orbit. With that in mind take a complete look at the weapons in the armory and how many of them are compatible with a non-lethal approach, similarly check how many holding cells we have and whether the ship has a hangar with transport ships within it.

As I finish developing the plague, cultivate a very weakened strain that can be used as a vaccine (+2 Genetic Science, +2 Intelligence).

I'm still here, sorry for the delay. Should have an action edited into this post soon enough...

Well, could have been better, but could have been a lot worse. I wonder if my self driving car is deviant too, or if it'll try to avoid hitting people. I mean, it is an AI after all right? Worst case, perhaps I'll just assume direct control... I gotta get more recruits anyway so I may as well do a wide range check later.

Finish off the plague doctor. Secondary priorities: Get in the car with my team and get outta here.
