« on: September 01, 2018, 09:32:55 pm »

I return to the forum for my yearly RTD that i will probably abandon in a month like i usually do :( don't get attached!

Spreadsheet with items and modifiers.

RULES:
-Typical 1-6 rolls
-Active skills are kind of like abilities, so for example acid vomit or webslinging. If you want to get crazy, demon portal summoning.
-Passive skills are things like skills, so for example guncrafting, arcane knowledge, tracking.
-Rules are subject to change throughout the game.
-Turn time limit is a day. After that you will be put on AI, and a day after that you will be put on suicidal AI.

CHARACTER SHEET:
Active Skill:
Passive Skill:
Starting Item:

Current Objective: This is not a very serious RTD. Do whatever you want. Start a business, summon demons, or throw humanity as a whole into the future by 2000 years.

The players are some of the first humans to go to a new planet that was recently discovered. There are currently 25,000 humans there, so it's like a small city on the moon. The atmosphere is like earths, breathable and fresh. Same with the gravity.

Y'all go nuts

Sorry for the delay, y'all.

TURN 1!

Tyr, Tilda, and JJ all buckle up for the long ride to Planet Thrun, the most recent planet discovered that has the ability to sustain human life. After the month long trip, and many snacks along the way, the three of you finally arrive as your shuttle docks into the arrivals bay. There are windows here, and you look outside to the large city and it's walls, the enormous turrets that mount them, and the vibrant green grass and purple trees that the walls are keeping out.

The receptionist greets you all and hands out some forms to be filled. She also gives you a PDA, which she explains all citizens of this colony have so that our Leader can keep track of us and keep us safe. They report your location and vitals, as well as offer communication and access to your respective departments.

As you fill out your papers, you read the following lines:

Preferred Department (Circle One): Security, Civilian, Science, Utility.
Note: If you are unsure of your designation, please select Civilian.

Thus starts the game, feel free to do anything you want really.

note: Added google doc to OP

Circle "Security"

Go get myself a sword.

You head over to the security armory and grab yourself the closest thing they have to a sword: a military police baton. It's a shame this city isn't more violent.

I examine the baton.

"I suppose this will work."

Go explore the city!

[6] You go explore the city, taking in all of the great views of this weird new world. Everything in the city seems to be pretty technologically advanced. You're browsing through a mall shop when your PDA beeps. Someone is requesting immediate security assistance, and it's coming from outside the east city gate! You can make it over there in a few minutes if you keep a brisk jog.

Get there, ASAP!

[1] You make it to the east gate in a few short minutes, only to find a beast the size of several men fighting security forces in the middle of a luscious green field! It is very tall, has 4 arms, and seems to be made out of pure muscle. It's also furry.

[6] The security chief rolls out of the way of the creatures arms, but stumbles backwards and falls over again while rolling. [4] He successfully dodges the next attack. He notices you. "Tyr, get your ass over here! It seems to have a weak spot in the upper middle of it's back!

Circle Civilian. Then go investigate the system of government of this planet.

The receptionist sends you on your merry way to go explore this planet and it's city. You make your way to a very tall, stable tower labeled "THE MORALITY OF MAN". It's mostly gray, but it leaves you with a sense of dread. Ignoring that, you head inside.

Another receptionist greets you. "If you're here for the election, head to your left to vote on a candidate, or head to the right to register yourself as a candidate. Either way, please leave."

Circle civilian, then go and look around the city.

You go check out the city. It's bustling, full of hover cars and nice future-tech commodities. Lots of production, recreation, and happiness all around. You decide to get something to drink at the mall, [5] and your PDA's GPS comes natural to you. You make it there in no time, and buy a refreshing future soda!

You notice a man in casual clothing focusing very intently on his PDA, looking around warily, and then slyly attaching the end of it to the cash register for a split second. He then briskly walks away.

Can I join?

Sure, I added you to the waiting list seeing as how 0cra already put in his character.

2 hours earlier
You are aboard the shuttle with the rest of the incoming crew/citizens. There is a commotion in the port escape pod, and you go investigate. There seems to be a rat stuck in one of the securing belts! You help it free, and in it's fright it jumps around the escape pod looking for an exit. [4] You notice that the rat could just run out of the open door, and it seems that it's actions aren't arbitrary. It body pounds the safety latch and starts the timer for escape pod launch!

You try to run out of the escape pod, your left arm getting caught in the securing belt! That damn rat was up to no good! Your screams for help are no more are you are whisked away, launched out of the shuttle (but still in the escape pod), barreling towards this new planet below. as the pod stabilizes and the wings open up for sub-orbital gliding, you see the city pass under you, then behind you, and then slowly out of sight. You gauge that you've been in the escape pod for around an hour and a half, still stuck and too far away to operate the pods controls.

[3] You can't seem to get yourself out of the straps. The pod gets closer to landing, but you notice out the front windows that you are heading for a large hill! The impact will surely wound you badly, if not completely crush you.
