SSL memory error DT with latest ver on LNP
« on: September 22, 2018, 10:46:31 am »

I have the latest version on LNP and all workd fine except when I load up Dwarf Therapist I keep getting an SSL memory error. Any ideas on what is wrong or how to fix?

Could you post the specific error message? It will help anyone who attempts to answer this.

Here ya go :)
#1 Memory Layout error
ssl handshake failed
click here to the project home page navigate to share/memory layouts to manually update

#2 Version check error
SSL handshake failed
click here to go to latest release page.

These are the two errors I'm getting...

This is Windows being protective of your software. Here is a solution
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
that was originally posted here. This is a "bad" solution because it is giving Dwarf Therapist more control than it should be given on your computer, but there would already have been shouting if the LNP's DT was hosting malware. I don't know if it is possible to limit DT's access to the DF memory space instead of giving it admin access and if it is, hopefully a Windows user will post an alternative.
