Starship Troopers, Minimalist RTD

"Cmon you apes, you wana live forever?"

The ramp of the dropship falls. Opening to the landscape of barren Klendathu.

Join the Mobile Infantry, they said. Service Guarantees Citizenship, they said. All you have now is your guts in your mouth and a perpetually angry sergeant bellowing in your com-bead to get the fuck out of the lander and into the dust and sand.

Down at the bottom of the ocean. Beneath tons of brine which would crush you down. Not into broken and splintered flesh, but into thin soup. Into just more of the sea water. Where things live that aren't so different from you, but you will never live to touch them and they will never live to touch you.

Post your sheet with your posts...

Also in the 23rd Century, Trump should be long dead (one can hope, or maybe in the next few years humanity achieves immortality and he buys his way to immortality while running for emperor of mankind), so Trump should just be a random fat college kid with memories of having been Trump in his last incarnation.

Aigre, my friend, Trump will never die.  Even in death his legend will live on, becoming an indeliable mark on history--and like all of history, Trump will repeat himself endlessly.

What I'm saying is that my character is a vat-grown clone of Trump, funded by the Trump-cloning laws Trump  passed just before his impeachment.  Due to the anti-clonigration laws passed shortly before, Trumps are not cloned with full citizenship (or generally any rights at all), which is why they join the military.

Attempt to figure out what a databox does. Ask pilot or sergeant if necessary.

A databox is what they call PDAs or tablet computers in this universe. (The book was written in 1959, they had computing machines, but science fiction writers envisioned the microcomputer as a box that kept getting smaller.)

Spoiler: dropship (click to show/hide)

The forward doors swing open, your squad stumbles out onto the barren desert terrain of Klendethu. Other metal box dropships are landing around you, spewing their loads of infantrymen the moment they touch the ground. Bug plasma fills the air as what counts for bug Anti-Aircraft-Artillery attempts to shoot the landing dropships and orbital fleet out of the sky.

"Move out now, advance!" Your platoon sergeant bellows into your helmet radio. Around you, other semi-dazed adrenaline fueled infantrymen stumble towards the direction of the enemy triple-A.
