Ability to create creature
« on: September 30, 2018, 10:32:21 am »

I would like to make certain creatures under certain conditions be able to spawn other creatures. Imagine for instance a mutant abomination spitting out mutated larvae during a fight, or some magician making birds out of thin air.

Obviously, the spawning of another creature seems to be the most troublesome implementable thing in this idea. Currently, is there anything in the raws that allows for this sort of thing to happen?

Not exactly. By RAW alone, the easiest thing you can do is to have an reanimation interaction that transforms corpses/corpse pieces into the creature you want. For "spontaneous" generation, you can have an interaction that temporarily transforms the mage itself into a "fake" creature with easily removable limbs (ie modding the fake to have a junk joint made of super-hot water, causing it to blow off said limb), after which the above transformation/reanimation can be used. But, there's a whole heap of problems doing that (the mage regenerating and changing physical features when reverting back, weird message logs in legends mode, and plenty others).
