You can never go wrong with 1984-inspired dystopias imo!

I need to get character planning done before this starts. I also need to get way ahead in my studies to have enough time for this. So far it's not happening  :D but it has been years since I made a proper attempt at Nano so I really need to put the work in.

My nano account is here if anyone wants to add me.

I added you.  My NaNo account: link.

Interestingly, I can't seem to figure out how to edit my bio to add information like you did.

I... frankly have no clue on what to name my book. I have the main characters kind-of planned-out, and I already showed you the premise, but I don't the plot synopsis planned.

I guess it's science fiction? There's no "Dystopia" genre listed.

My profile is here if anyone wants to give advice.

Bump for great justice.

I have no idea who ran the B12 discord last year, but my regional one is still up and fairly populated. If you guys want company and don't mind the time difference I'll certainly offer up a link via PM.

Onward and upward, ladies and gentlemen.

I ran the Discord server last year, and still have it. I can hook you up with a link as well if you ask nicely enough to not look like a robot.

As for my own participation, well, I'm going to, but I'm wholly unprepared.

Edit: Here's my profile.

Discord instead of mIRC? What is this, the future??

I'd appreciate a link to whatever rooms are going. I not only have no plan yet but an essay I have to complete before I can even think making one. I'm screwed. :D

Yeah, it got to where no one would look at mIRC but everyone used Discord despite them being functionally identical for this purpose. I guess the bloat really sells it, right? Tossing you a link.

Go time in approximately 14 hours here.  I tried to outline some yesterday but only managed to get about 7 sentences in.  I'm really hoping I'm better at improvising a story than I think I am, else this is going to be painful.

I think that's about the extent of the outlining I had last year, but at least last year I had an idea of where the story would go.  This time... I've only got conflict up through about half of the story.  That gives me a couple of weeks to figure it out as I go, I guess.

I mean, I have Discord open nearly all the time for other things, so it's really convenient for me for the NaNo chat to be there. mIRC, on the other hand, I think I last used... two? Three? years ago, which was not coincidentally the last time I did NaNo seriously.

NaNo starts in about eight hours, strictly speaking, for me, and I have almost nothing. Yippee!

I, too, have nothing but a high concept. Oh well. At least I'm stepping outside the comfort zone of fantasy.

Hit my quota for the first day, so I'm doing better than last year.

It took more actual time to get that quota than I expected though, which is not a good sign. I really should have planned more.

After sort-of finishing my absolute mess of a plan, I have set a target of 300 words for this day. It's getting late. Next day will be 1000.
