In addition to mugs, dwarves demand straws when consuming drinks.  These can only be crafted from specific types of grass, are single-use, and decay rapidly once made.  Dwarves will drop used straws wherever, cluttering up your fort.

And on top of that, eventually dwarves decide these straws are somehow environmentally unsound, if they spend too much time around elves, and demand instead that straws be made of paper, and only from an absurdly finicky plant that can only be grown under perfect conditions and requires several steps of manufacture to be turned into paper, then requires several more steps to be turned into straws.

Dwarves go insane and demand the old straws back.

A surprisingly (or not) oft-used word on the forum. It was mentioned back in 2007!

Speaking of grates (effectively), every time a dwarf passes a grate, he/she accidentally drops their smallest posession through it. This is cumulative per pass (of this grate, or any grate) and no limit as to how not-small the smallest elegible item can be.

Dwarves drop things down grates then try to seek out thread and bubblegum to hilariously fish out the wrong items over and over again.

"Floors", "Ceilings" are now separate objects, meaning you've got to channel through the lower ceiling and then the lower level, and then the lower floor, and the lower-subfloors in order to truly channel through a "layer".

furthermore subfloors and sub/structural ceilings are now a thing.

This is done in order to improve understandings of "can I dig here" and/or damp stone.

dwarves can now queue at bins. this requires a new noble position, QueueMaster, who's job it is to make sure everyone takes their turn. You need a separate QueueMaster for each bin, there's no limit to how many queues each dwarf can be in, and moody dwarves have to wait in line like everyone else.

also cutting in line results in hammerings

After the fire had burned down all of the wooden next boxes on the surface, Mottled Petrel was reluctant to replace them with more wooden nest boxes. Instead, he placed the remaining store of wooden nest boxes in the dormitory for any aspiring koopa mothers.

The nest boxes were immediately overrun by helmet snakes.

They get a bad thought each time.

Add an Eclipse moment in which the Gods associated with corruption, death and anger appear and let several forgotten beast get loose.
Dragons may come in masse and burn the entire planet to the point of making it a giant desert.

I can't wait for the myth & magic update. I hope something like this will be possible.

Right before the Steam release the game becomes an Epic store exclusive with a one year wait before it comes out on Steam, there is also no mention of this until it happens.
