Killing time (9/10)
« on: November 07, 2018, 01:35:07 am »

You are a killer, at least that is what you decided just yesterday. How you will go about killing is up to you.

This is a multiplayer game where each player is a killer, or not. When you kill a person a d6 will be rolled to see if law enforcement know it is you.

Code: (Rolls) [Select]
General Rolls:
0-Something breaks very badly, gain a nonhelpfull permanent modifier
1-Something break, gain a nonhelpfull temp modifier
2-nothing happens
3-almost failed, but still passed
4-good enough to do the job right
5-perfectly done, gain a helpful temp modifier
6-overshoot, gain -1 to next roll
7-extreme overshoot, gain a helpful permanent modifier

Investigaion Rolls:
1-You are thought of as not capable of it (-1 investigation)
2-They don't suspect you
3-You are a witness (+1 investigation)
4-You are an accomplice (+2 investigation)
5-You are suspect (+3 investigation)
6-You are a suspect, but it is wishy washy (+1 investigation)

Killer Rolls:
0-What was going to kill your target, killed you
1-What was going to kill your target, they found before it could kill them
2-You barely missed
3-You got them, but it was messy(+1 closer to 5 to investigation roll)
4-You got them and there was cleanable
5-You got them without making a mess(-1 closer to 1 to investigation roll)
6-You my have been seen(+1 investigation)
7-You were definitely seen(+3 investigation)

Investigaion:
Investigations first max is 6, when you hit your max investigation you are jailed and have 1 day to prove your innocence; if against a player investigator it is up to them(rolls only if gotten nowhere by the update); if against npc cops a roll of 3-5 will give you -1 investigation, 1-2 a +1 investigation, and a 6 +-0. At the end of the day if your investigation is at or above your max, you die; if 1 or more or below your max, set free.

Support:
Support is only given to law enforcement, min support is 1. Support is given for each killer brought to just by how many kills they had; it can also be bought at 1 for $1000. Support is lost when a murder case is closed without a killer found(only applies if you were investigating it). Support can be used to give you equipement and manpower, equipement will be with you for 1 day, manpower will be at your disposal for 1 week; 10 support can be used to get you a new permanent modifier(or remove one) 20 support can be used to give you imunity to 0s and 7s. If you ever get to 0 support and cannot buy anymore(your funds will automatically be used to buy 1 if you hit 0) than you ae removed fom your position(forced retirement, make a new character).

Kills:
When you get to certain kill levels you can rest you kills to gain buffs and bonuses: 5 kills will get you double the max investigation(hard max of 48); 10 kills gets you a new permanent modifier or a permanent modifier removal; 20 kills gets you imunity to 0s and 7s; More steps will be added when someone gets close.

Is it possible for a Private Investigator to drop in and try to unravel the murders while trying to not get stabbed (or murder-framed) himself?

It is June 1, 2020: Monday late morning.
Look for things to kill or perform other activities on.
[2]You found nothing to kill, well at least nothing easy. Everyone appears to be in groups of 10 or more.

Drive the taxi around and get some fares to make some money.
[6]You were able to pick up a group of people and take them to work making $10. Unfortunately you are right next to the main police precinct.

Buy a newspaper, a set of gloves, and some safety equipment. Look through the classifieds for any jobs that might interest me, and any any current events that are going on.

He looked out the window of his fancy office, in a tall building in the city's center. It was a beautiful day out - Sky was blue, clouds were fluffy, breeze was soft and gentle...
Things were about to start going downhill fast. There was something in the air, he could smell it. There were going to be a lot of corpses soon. He sat up in his chair and kept an eye on the news. There was going to be someone dead within 24 hours. He knew it.

Name: Kit Rougard
Profession: Investigator
Skills:
Fine, I'll do it myself! - Kit has the guts to kill a murderer himself, and should he pick up enough investigation against one player to put them away but the local police are too daft to catch them, then he can start up a roll between himself and the killer to see who dies. This ability is optional.
Thousandmasks - A master of disguise, any killers trying to find him will have a little bit more trouble locating him to kill him.
Killers bought to justice: 0
Inv: 9mm Pistol, Disguise Kit
Support: 10
Cash: 100

Oh well, guess no murder for now. Instead pick an attractive human from one of the groups and attempt to befriend it.

Go and buy a first aid kit, hammer, box of nails, wood saw, metal saw, screwdriver set, ratchet set, pair of pliers, measuring tape, and a tool box to put it all in, then go to the the air port to try to make some money driving people around.
