~~~~Prologue: Right Person at the Wrong Place~~~~
It's a regular day in Auroch. Somewhere in the poorer side of the city there's a commotion happening, a gang running amok as someone has stolen something from them. But this person has no idea just how important the stolen item is, or how they will start a journey to once again change the continent.
Borgo and a few of his gang members were chasing a limber thief.
: After her! She stole our only copy of that page!
One of the gang members stopped for a second. Her? To which Borgo only responded with a smack to the head, a suggestion to keep running.
The thief ran down some stairs into a small street, but then skidded to a stop. The only exit was cut by a pair of gang members, and behind the gangsters already cut off the way back.
: We have you now! We're gonna show you what happens to people that steal from Borgo, you dumb foreigner!
But the thief wasn't the only one trapped in the street, and one of Borgo's gang pointed it out. What do we do with them, boss?
: Sweep the street.
The words of the gang boss didn't inspire much for a peaceful resolution. The thief and the persons trapped in the street had to figure a way to get out of this pickle.
//Vigdis Wulfgar, Amber Hirana, Clara Rudolph, Rafiel Aht, William Argent and Astera are in!
Vigdis raised her lance defensively at the approach of the goons.
"What's the meaning of this?"
William drew his sword as well, holding it in a fencer's ready position.
"It sounds like this person stole something and they're going to leave no witnesses, miss. I hope you can use that lance."
Amber had been reading while walking, until the sound of people running all around gave her pause and she looked up. Annnd then all that stuff with the goons happened...
"Well that's rude of them." She snapped her book closed, and took out another one. The book seemed a bit heavier than the other one, and in lieu of a title, had a simple fire design on the cover."I don't know about you guys, but I don't like that plan of theirs." Amber said almost cheerfully, opening to the proper page. Fire was always more mother's thing than hers, but she would make do.
Rafiel tucked a tattered and torn journal into his robes, pulling out a black tome to replace it. He didn't really want to use it, he was so close to being able to properly cast anima magic, but now wasn't the time to be picky.
"I'd heard there was some nasty gang violence in Auroch, but I never expected to be attacked in the street so soon... Let's try and get into that building."
"That's a good idea. If nothing else, we can hold them in the doorway. It looks pretty sturdy though; we'll need magic to blast through it."
"I hope the same for that sword." Vigdis glanced around, assessing the situation. Goons in every direction, but fewer to the east.
"The building might take too long. We need to brace the east and then push that way, keeping numerical advantage. Assuming everyine here is as ready to fight as they look."
"To speak bluntly, my combat experience is entirely in reading manuals, army drills, and image training."
"But even with that said, I do not plan to die to these thugs."
A slender young woman with narrow eyes behind glasses took in the thugs surrounding them.
"I... may not have a sword at the moment, but I have still have healing magic. Keep me on my feet, and I will keep you on yours."
"My mother's taught me some things about fire. I'll be fine." Amber said, before taking the first steps towards the enemy. Not being in range of them, though, she settled for the door - maybe they'd be able to break out.
K5, fire on the door.
Astera grinned and made a rude gesture at the boss of the thieves as they darted away.
"Аа яваад өгөөч. Энэ бол минийх, та нарыг зэмлэдэг."
Best to keep that in a language the man couldn't understand. Still, glancing around at the people surrounding them, they gave a small salute.
"Hello new friends. You are here to help, yes? I will, uh... yes, fight. Together? Yes, good."
But still, better to get behind someone else.
