Vigdis had to consciously stop herself from grinding her teeth again. Wounded pride was right; they'd run away from the gang with their tails between their legs. She glanced at Ismo with an expression that probably looked more hostile than she really intended as he spoke.
"Then we will simply have to kill them as well." The small group headed toward the stables drew her attention. "It may be wise to travel there as a group, regardless of who has a mount to retrieve." It was unlikely for them to be ambushed here, but the possibility couldn't be discounted; the very stealthy and the incredibly stupid could both potentially make the attempt.

William scratched the back of his head nervously. He wouldn't go that far; there would be a lot of paperwork involved among other things, so it would be as much a headache as a help for the local law enforcement.

The horses for both girls were still in the stables, but unfortunately the sword Clara had left was no longer there.
