You'd either need to come up with serious enough hijinks that you can successfully challenge the skeleton behind the curtain, or you could just use the power of love. I'm going for that one.

I've also wondered about the merits of playing as a mortal character, who only lives for a few turns and has no power. That would be the other way to "break" the scale.

Also take some time to tinker with those Mechaserpents. Start by renaming them to be Mechserpents. They're ensouled beings, right? Ask what it is that they want. If it's something reasonable and in my power, help them out with it.

If Haku were to be stopped from killing himself and be reduced to a mortal and sent to the weird snake machine thing. He would try and just give up and go with the flow until someone found a way to return him to demi-godhood.
