But of course, sending you my discord handle. DF has a steep barrier to entry, but once you understand how it works, everything becomes logical. My friend could make a autonomous fort after just one session, so I'm confident I can teach that again, as many times as necessary (plus vacations starting this week end, perfect timing)

Everyone has lots of personal tips n tricks as well, and we are always excited to help. The DF Wiki is one of the most comprehensive in existence, but no question is too silly to ask here on the forums.

I was surprised how effective 1 on 1 teaching can be.    My niece was vaguely interested in the game and asked me to teach her.  I thought, "Oh she'll get bored of this immediately", but showed her the very basics.  Apparently she plays fairly regularly now.  Without going through the initial setup etc, I don't think she would ever have really tried it.

Here's the archive of Cathar teaching me DF. He's a good teacher! We played for an hour and I think I know everything I need to get started with DF.
