With The Chimeroid no where to be found, people have slowly relaxed their pressure on privatly owned mechs.

The show must go on.

And a new type of competition is just around the corner...

IN-CHARACTER MODE: ACTIVE

A battle is about to begin! This will temporarily become a IC thread. Questions can be PM'd to me directly. The rules are:

"Talking in a font color"
Actions in bold.
Descriptions in regular text.
Thinking in italics.
(OOC, use conservatively.)

Remember to not godmode/powerplay by assuming your actions happen. Especially as I will determine results, even if a card would seem to surely hit, still do not assume.

Spectators are welcome to talk, In-Character.

This is a new installment/spiritual successor to Mech Card Battle. This beta will test the following new mechanics:

• Part Placement: Placing ammo, coolant, jet fuel, and weapons systems
• Heat Management
• Ammo Management
• Evasions

This beta will not have custom cards like the final version. In its place you will be able to select varying intensity of stock weapons.

Note: I may manipulate the game such as give or remove damage, change the number of cards you can draw or play per turn, and any other number of variables.

If you have played Mech Card Battle before, you know basically what to expect. If not, you may wish to wait until after the Beta.

I only need two volunteers. More are welcome. But might not be used.

Ok, TricMagic and TankKit we'll start with you. You are each going to receive a "Michelangelo". A mech with the following specifications.

The standard items each take up 1 slot. The romanized items take that many slots. You may choose to remove one or both hands for more space, otherwise this is your mech.

In for what I assume is the waitlist?

When the GM announces the start of the Reveal Phase, both players announce their plays for their turn in the thread.

Since the GM (you) announce it, you are clearly already online, and you have both actions the players made. So why the extra wait?

Furthermore:
- Unless there is a holster mechanic I missed, it seems like you are always better off discarding the -hand- component in favor of hard-mounted modules.
- Beam Focus Fire I is an objectively better card than Beam Pulse I, it has higher initiative, better to-hit chance and the same damage output.
- "You may target 31 additional adjacent parts in a line." what consitutes a line, and are there ever really 4 parts that can be aligned like that?
- Axe III is pointless, there are no cards it can play that Axe II cannot.

I know, which is why I submitted a bug report. ( There is still time to fix/clarify these before the first round begins, however.)

Alright. TricMagic appears to be busy. In the interest of moving the tests along, of which there will be plenty, and may or may not comprise full battles or multiple. I am going to just take who's available that day. Who is available to begin now? The battle may last a week or so. Players should try to check a couple times a day.
