DFHACK manipulator custom professions (SOLVED)
« on: January 03, 2019, 11:13:22 am »

I am starting to use manipulator more, and noticed I can't delete a custom profession once it is made.  I am wondering where these are stored? Can I just open up a text or xml file someplace and erase/alter the custom professions?

There should be a directory called 'professions' , in dwarf fortress\hack\plugins\ probably. I think professions will be stored as text files in there.

You can copy-paste the professions files between versions as to retain your professions too, if you changed file. Obviously if its compatable of course.

The format's really simple (a name plus a list of labor names) - the only thing that could cause a compatibility break is if an existing labor is renamed or removed (and if that's not handled already, it should be simple enough to handle). So I wouldn't be too worried about copying them across DF versions.

There was a typo in the siegers' campfire code. When the fires went out, so did the game.
