Switched to a different cell.

So, here's a super grounded one...

The Group
Motto: "De Opresso Liber"

We knew it was bad when they called us off the counter-ISIS mission, but we had no idea it would all end up like this.  Some people ask, where was most powerful military alliance in the world when the aliens came?  Well remember those green gas pods?  The ones that turn humans into those zombie-like feral monsters?  Guess what happened to Bragg, Benning, Campbell, and Lewis?  They didn't stop stateside, so went Ramstein, Al Udeid, Rota, and Lemmonier.  They even when after the FOBs for fuck sakes, Bagram, Kandahar, Victory Base Camp Baghdad - all goddamn zombies now.  So where was the most powerful military alliance twenty years ago?  They're still right where you left them.

The good news was that smaller patrol bases and safe houses were apparently completely off ADVENT's radar.  A Green Beret ODA Team deployed to Syria made it as far out of the Middle East to East Istanbul, until they realized the whole world had fallen and there was no point fleeing further.  This ODA Team and their safehouse gradually became a nucleus for deployed service members and their indigenous allies who made it out of the horrors of the Middle East.

Founded by low key operators, "The Group," retains the apt Green Beret motto "De Opresso Liber" (To Free the Oppressed).  Originally predominantly white Americans from Special Operations Forces (SOF) background, the Group is now mostly NATO country veterans.  More recently, handfuls of local Turks, as well as stray Russian, Syrian, and Iraqi operators have been welcomed into the resistance.  Fiercely loyal formal local interpreters from Iraq, Syria, and Kurdish territories also comprise a substantial faction in the Group.

Quote from: The Societal-Cultural Preservation Foundation - "Male Parta Male Dilabuntus"
The SCP Foundation has roots dating back to it's 1880 founding by a dozen scholars and archaeologists who wished to pool resources in an effort to locate hidden and lost artifacts related to human history. They were a peaceful group up until the invasion, seeking only to solve the mysteries of our past, but did hire various armed security forces for protection in hostile or war-torn areas.

During the initial invasion the alien forces showed no regard for human heritage and history, and so the SCP Foundation raced to recover documents, art, literature, and whatever else before the aliens destroyed them. Eventually the invading (then occupying) forces declared the SCP Foundation a hostile organization and a majority of it's members were hunted down and never heard from again. The survivors used the foundation's extensive network of international connections, or what remained of it, to reorganize, rebuild, and resist.

As the SCP Foundation became more militant it also became more ruthless. The study of alien technology and biology slowly became priority over recovering human artifacts - no point in preserving the past if nobody's left to learn from it, right? By taking what they learn from the aliens and applying it in the appropriate fields the SCP Foundation aims to Secure humanity's past, Contain the alien threat, and Protect Earth's future.

Well we can't have a good game if the other team doesn't have any players and from what I understand the SB side is a little under populated. So some one had to.

As for votes I'm of course voting for my own proposal but I'm not married to the name. I don't feel like it really suits the group described and would be open to other suggestions for a better name.

Ugh, guess I'll take one for the team and cross over to SpaceBattles as well.
