Too Much Fishing - won't stop?

Too many Dorfs had "Fish" turned on and I tried switching them off.  But a lot of them keep fishing.  I assume because some of them were ALREADY in the process of fishing.  Will they stop fishing after a time or what?

Yes.  They complete the next 'catch fish' task then they will stop (whether or not they catch something).  It can take a while... maybe a few days, I've never really timed it.   :)
