Alexander steps back suddenly and twists around to look at the newcomer.  He quickly raises his sword to point at Darla--swinging it dangerously close to Demitrius in the process--before angrily shouting at her.

"Halt and identify yourself!"

“My name is Darla Edelman, princess of the House of Edelman. The queen tried to kill me so I left the castle and lived on a farm and fished. I drank from this flask *shows the empty flask* like I do every day, however this time I felt dizzy and fell unconscious. I woke up in this forest and noticed a large bird talking to you, so I planned to wait till whatever was happening was done happening.”

Alexander nods once, then turns back towards the birdman, his blade following.  "Thank you, Miss Edelman, but at this moment we are busy.  Stay back.  Now, demon, where were we?  The tower.  What.  Is it?  What is within?

Talk at bird man.  Still threatening him with the sword, though not quite as close anymore.

["Trusting, eh? That tower was built by an army of bugs controlled by a very strong dog. Though at this point he's more like a giant serpent. He is quite powerful, as is his lieutenant, a human. They like to chop people up, repeatedly. If you go there, you all will find it quite painful."]
The demon tilts his head very slightly.
["That much is fair warning. I wouldn't want to see potential innocents destroyed in that way. If you want to trade, put away your weapon."]

Back up, get behind a different tree farther away and listen

As soon as Alexander returns to talking with his bird, you scurry away and hide behind a farther away tree. This doesn't really make you hidden but it might hopefully provide some cover?

Eh, f*** it, we're basically along for the ride.
WHISPERS HO!

You draw it in, you feel it. Noticing the limbs underlying the limbs around you, carrying not only essence, but thoughts. Words come to you.

IMPULSE

Yes, of course, this is what you were meant to be. Whatever you were before, it was crude, imperfect. You were once a cheap, plasticy toy to be used and discarded, but now you are true.
One limb looks appropriately feathery. Could probably follow that. Smells a lot like those assholes though. Those fuckers, Hell you-
Not that way, no. You shouldn't believe that just because the limbs say so. Just because they killed you doesn't mean they're bad people, right?
WHY ARE THINGS TERRIBLE?
What?
You were supposed to win, to have succeeded where others had failed
Huh, looks like it's doing its own little thing there.
But in the end there's r̷̴͖̟̩̲̜̭̯̟e̷̷̢͍͉͓͖͍͎̺̫à̼̫ļ̡̨̙̝͖͈̣̣̫ļ̭̖̼̥̣͓̦͖y̴͖͍͠͠ͅ ̭̯͉͈̹͇̪̰n̷̨͇o͇͇̫͉̞͕̬̦͠ ̡̺͇w̗̳͍͘a̸̤̺͠y̴̪̖͕̞̣̲̠̫͈͡
NOPE

Heart fluttering, you break that train of thought before brings you places better not trod. Your twisted left hands itches in anticipation.

"Trade?"  Alexander chuckles quietly, then pauses for a moment before twirling the machete around once, then resting the weapon on his armored shoulder.  "Very well.  What do you have that we want, besides information?" he says with a patronizing tone.

He tilts his head a tiny bit farther in the same direction. It looks like that should be uncomfortable, but we're not birdpeople, now are we?

["Besides? Information is what you wanted, correct?"]

Alexander nods.  "The word of a demon isn't worth payment.  Coin, however, is coin--no matter the hands that it has passed through."  Alexander looks upward as he talks, watching the small dog person in the tree above.  "Though, I suppose it is clay here, isn't it?  Little better than barter, but that's to be expected of demons.  If you were civilized, you wouldn't be demons.  I ramble.  You've told me what I need to know.  In return, you will remain unharmed.  Are our dealings done?"

...

Xeriak begins his turn.
The bird hops forwards into melee range, which would allow Alexander and Demetrius to make reaction melee attacks, if they so wish.

You're still wielding your sword, so your spear is on your back or something, you can't drop something as part of your melee reaction but you don't have to to do unarmed anyways, and I assume that tackle means try an unarmed attack with attempt to grapple? If you want to knock him down that would translate as a kick attack, body slam would just have the same function and be redundant.
