And about the booze amount, how are we supposed to get a larger amount of booze? We only have two or so carpenters at the moment, so they can't quite keep up with demand of barrels.

Y'know... we do have access to sand... and I did strike magma on my turn... and you did say you're rather good with magma...
Fountains of endless glass-work anyone?  :D

Endless glasswork is always a plus and that reminds me of something.

As a biologist I feel like we should be allowed to use green glass for greenhouse coverings. Since IRL green glass is commonly used since plants don’t significantly take up light on the green spectrum, hence the green leaves, since color is an expression of light that’s reflected rather than absorbed green glass wouldn’t block any of the light actually needed by the farm plants.

Just an observation. I can understand it from a balance perspective.

Huh, maybe I should get dwarfed as a “Pedantic” instead  ::)

we have

RULES
...

* Underground crops are not allowed.
 - Enclosed crops (aboveground crops underneath some sort of roof) are allowed, on the condition that the roof be made of clear or crystal glass.
 - Magmaponic crops (multi-level crops grown on muddied cast-obsidian) are allowed, but must be built above the aquifer.

4th Hematite.
The battle is finally over.
The fatalities on our side include Rith, the Impaler; Shorast Amostsarek, a marksdwarf; Rimtar Melbirritan, a spearsdwarf (who did not have a freaking spear. WHY?); Ingiz Kirarmosus, a Mace lord; Sanctum, our commander; Bim Kolnicat a speardwarf (Seriously, are speardwarves arrow magnets or something? Only Shorast did not use spears.).
The non-fatal casualties include Olin Laboredspoke, a marksdwarf with a broken skull; Capt Zuglarkun, the captain of the first axe squad, with a fractured leg; Sarvesh Oddomdurad, a hammerdwarf with a cut arm.

Dead!

I request a sane legendary miner named 'Diggy'.

I see that Sanctume, but I was suggesting the allowance of green glass blocks, which aren’t clear or crystal glass and as such aren’t currently allowed by the rule you quoted.

Welp there goes the leg, and a short lived and ill-fated stint at a military career. Should have stuck to bee-keeping, or bee-eating. Speaking of which, are there still bee hives in the area? I'm feeling awfully hungry, and thirsty.

I don't suppose you have some iron crutches lying around somewhere do you?

Also, *looks over at Olin* how exactly does one survive with a broken skull?

I believe the reason is because green glass would be too easy to make in bulk for indoor farm roofs.

I thought the idea was that green glass would act as a filter, producing mostly useless green light. Splint probably has said the real reason, at least.

Oh absolutely I understand it from a balance perspective, but the fact that it’s green means it actually filters out the useless green light. I just wasn’t sure if Quasar was aware that light and plants worked this way, so I felt it worth bringing up at least.

So I took a peek at the last save, and, uh... we have two trade depots. I'm pretty sure there's a bug involving multiple trade depots that causes the caravan to turn around and leave, so... maybe break one of those down?

God damn it. It's all my fault for trying to be able to turtle without losing out on caravans?

The last caravan loss could have been a number of things... but yes, it may have been that. I dunno.
If it makes you feel any better, that thing will probably make trade safer for us. Just... we should make sure we break down the original depot before any more caravans show up.
