How about getting Baldur enrolled at a scholarly university in the capital in disguise with us as a consultant or teacher.  Have the rest of our party split up as well and see who we can find as loyalist with them.  It would give us a chance to hide us both in places we would work well in while staying central to direct people.  Have everyone go to ground for now while things are still in chaos and they can find good spots.
