Alright, I'm here. The rest of the day oughta be pretty quiet here, so it looks like I'll be around for the RVS after all! Woo!

Don’t be scared of looking like an idiot. Mistakes are how you learn. We might be a bit harsh, but we’ll at least appreciate the effort. If you die, questions in the dead thread are good, and also after the game.
Thanks for the kind words. :)

Don't expect much of me today. Solomon is finally in my sight, and I plan on finally beating it Hel, High Water, or Demon Pillars..

Wait, we've started? We've started! Wonderful!

I... dunno how I'm gonna go about this. Should vote somebody at random and ask a question, I suppose-- that's how this works, yes?

randomgenericusername: What two people here would you least want for scumbuddies?

IcyTea31: You're at the top of the list, the top is where scummy surface-dweller dwarves live. So, do you drink water like humans? Or sun wine like elves?
Starver: Who here would you most like to be scum with?
randomgenericusername: Superdorf somehow stole my question to you and I'm out of questions. How does this make you feel?
hector13: You didn't really question people with big posts last game, do you intend to do that this game, or more of generally being active?
KitRougard: I feel like last game you gave up. What are your plans for scum hunting this game, and playing differently from last?
SuperDorf: You said you'd likely say stupid stuff this game. Did you do the stupid act of killing the alpacas with magma?
TricMagic: You had some weird roles in Yugioh mafia. How would you say those compare with procgen roles?
Nirur Torir: Don't talk to yourself.
Maximum Spin: How do you deal with RVS?
Deus Asmoth: What group of people here would make the most terrifying scum team?
Shakerag: Who here would you most like to be town?
Leafsnail: Who would you least like to be scum with?

Nahh. I'm terrible with screw pumps; I couldn't flood an alpaca pen if I tried.

randomgenericusername: Superdorf somehow stole my question to you and I'm out of questions. How does this make you feel?
Ooh, does this mean I'm doing something right? Maybe it does!

Nirur Torir: Would you say you've gotten better at Mafia over your past few games? If so, how so?
notquitethere: Did I mention the flavor amuses me? Because the flavor amuses me.
Everyone: When would the best time for a massclaim be in a game like this?

Nirur Torir: Would you say you've gotten better at Mafia over your past few games? If so, how so?
I have last game which just ended, and some games a good few years ago. Yes, because last game forced me to see that the remnants of my old playstyle were terrible.

Everyone: When would the best time for a massclaim be in a game like this?
What purpose does a massclaim even serve? Are you trying to out the important roleholders?

Starver: Would you consider aggressive swapping of abilities to be pro-town or anti-town behaviour? Why?

randomgenericusername: How many sets of roles did you generate before the game?

hector13: How would you react if your ability was swapped for something useless before the end of this day?

KitRougard: Why am I asking you this question?

SuperDorf: If not this, have you played any other mafia-like games, such as Town of Salem?

TricMagic: Do you think it's a good idea for a townie to keep an air of mystery around themself?

Nirur Torir: Do talk to yourself. How else can you be sure you're not scum?

Maximum Spin: Have you learned not to flounder under pressure when you're scum?

Deus Asmoth: How afraid are you of the delayed-kill mechanics (poison, infection, fire) in play?

Shakerag: How drunk are you right now?

Leafsnail: How good do you consider yourself at analyzing bandwagons?

IcyTea31: You're at the top of the list, the top is where scummy surface-dweller dwarves live. So, do you drink water like humans? Or sun wine like elves?
I don't drink...wine.

Almost never. The procgen abilities hold very little information about their holders' alignments. A massclaim is only useful here if it shows a discrepancy in someone's actions, i.e. them performing the mafiakill, which is too unlikely to offset the disadvantage of mafia knowing everyone's abilities.

It'd be useful if we thought this game was breakable, I suppose?

Perhaps I should rephrase the question: Does there exist a time in a game like this when a massclaim would be useful?

Don't leave the matter there. Understand that my answer was my opinion, and it might be interesting to hear what others have to say.

Maximum Spin: How do you deal with RVS?
I don't! I prefer to make all votes informed votes, even when the information content is limited.

IcyTea you know I'm going to ignore that so why even try? :P

SuperDorf: If not this, have you played any other mafia-like games, such as Town of Salem?

I once watched a bunch of kids sit in a circle and play Mafia with each other. I didn't really understand what they were doing. Also, over the past month, I've been obsessively reading through the Notable Games Archive. That is the entirety of my Mafia experience.

IcyTea: You asked TricMagic about mysteriousness. I'm curious... do you think being mysterious as town is a good thing? Why or why not?

Nirur Torir: What's the worst play you've ever made? What's the best?

Hm, yes. I'm still trusting people. I need to stop trusting people. I'll reiterate the question, then: At what point, if any, would a massclaim prove useful in a game like this one?

Maximum Spin: How do you deal with RVS?
I don't! I prefer to make all votes informed votes, even when the information content is limited.

So how do you begin a game, then? By simply questioning people, without putting a vote behind those questions?

Nirur Torir: Do talk to yourself. How else can you be sure you're not scum?
Naw, that's the path to losing my self-righteousness.

Maximum Spin: How do you deal with RVS?

I'm not quite sure I understand. Restarting this in my own words: Rather than going through the information gathering stage, you'd prefer to make all votes based on information even when there's no information?

Nirur Torir: What's the worst play you've ever made? What's the best?
Giving in to pressure and dropping the hammer vote on myself was the worst.
I'm not sure what the best was. Last game didn't have much. I don't think it counts as a particularly good play, but I do remember once tunneling someone in D1 just to tunnel them, and it ended with their D1 death. They ended up being scum.

I remember that hammering. It was dramatic and funny. I didn't realize it was bad play until everyone started berating you.

Would you say tunneling is a good thing on day 1? What about on later days?

IcyTea: you’re doing a lot of rolefishing for someone who doesn’t think roles are all that important.

To answer your question though, delighted.
