Shoes seemed, as usual, irritable and vaguely murderous at the prospect of shopping. The new guy, however, mentioned local specialty food, and this was enough to distract his hateful appetites with more literal ones for a moment. The horse, to indicate his desire to follow, simply walked up behind Momo and stared at him, deathly silent for such a sizable equine.

"I wouldn't say no. Bonus points if we can get something spicy. Everyone's free to join our quest for food!"
"And sure, you can join too, Shoes. Dunno what you like, but we'll find something."


Why is everyone suddenly so casual and friendly, including me? This is frikkin' scary!

"Yes, sometimes, something literally spicy is good, too."

"BTW, Yliss, what would such a horse like to eat..."

Shoes stomped a hoof on the ground, then scraped it across where he did so twice horizontally, and twice vertically, before looking at Yliss intently.

Yliss looks at Shoes' motions and thinks about its meaning for a while.

"Hmmm... What could that mean..."
"Stomping the ground... Two horizontal swipes... Two vertical swipes... ... Swipes..."
"... Errr... You know what an Ouija board is and you want to use one? Did I get that right? Please stomp twice if I got that right."

"Hmm... maybe I should go get Marcia?"

Shoes shook his head and neighed irritably, before giving a vaguely positive nod towards Momo's suggestion.

"Gonna go fetch her, then." - said Momotarou, before going back to the carriage and, if Marcia wasn't already outside, checking inside, looking for her.

"Marcia, are you there? Shoes needs you for... translation."

Gnome Jenkins released a sigh filled with disappointment as the group's attention turned to shopping. "I can gnever find what I want to buy."

Gnome Jenkins removed his hat for a moment to scratch at his scalp, releasing a deluge of dandruff toward the ground. "That is gnot untrue."
