Invasion Mechanics
« on: May 29, 2019, 07:27:19 pm »

So, a good while ago - before the new mechanics allowing you to send out patrols, etc. - I thought I read that a goblin site needed to be within 30 squares of your embark site for them to invade you.  I have a couple of questions...

Is that true?

Is that still true?  Or can goblins now pretty much roam the entire world to lay siege?

Thanks in advance for the answer.

I believe goblins normally won't lay siege to you unless you're within 40 tiles of their sites-- but if you attack them first, with raiding parties, they'll ignore all distance restrictions in order to get at you.

You also need a population of more than 80.
Again, cancelled if you attack them first.

Theoretically during the artifacts release a mechanic was added whereby if a leader found out (through spies, possibly rumours too) about an artifact he had a claim to (including "I like the sound of that, I claim it"), he might lead an army to go get it. Which might ignore distances.

Not easily proven if this actually works though. Suspect Villains release will have expanded a lot more on artifact recovery crusades.
