Only bloody issue is that, unlike it's competitors, nobody seems to play this game anymore. Which is a darn shame, as I find much more fun in this then something akin to Age of Empires.

Yeah, I can't say I've every tried multiplayer, HD or otherwise.  RTS's tend to sink or swim in popularity cause of the skill cliff RTS's tend to have.  I for one am shit at real time strat games.

I have no idea if 7 Kingdoms is even balanced, even if you limited it to only humans or something.  I remember Egypt being particularly good, as their god could just add 20 pop to your cities, which you could probably leverage into whatever advantage you needed eventually.
