A meteor made on an unknown ice like metal has landed outside of Castell Coedsig Fanw. It will require a Special project to utilize, and can be stolen.

Oh right, I did mention random events in LW1 (that never really happened in LW1).

-Gwaywffyn Mynydd, 5 RP: Commonly moderately armored with leather and gambeson and at most a steel plate, these well trained and physically fit by Children of Fanw standards are significantly better than normal spearmen. Each thrust of their spears tends to be true, and commonly they lead groups of Gwaywffon Ifanc, with only generals and Meistri Rhyfel as their superiors.

-Bwyell Ifanc, 4 RP: With moderate or heavy armor, commonly incorporating steel, the Bwyell Ifanc are always armed with a shield and a axe. Naturally, once the Children of Fanw who train as a Gwaywffon Ifanc are strong and trained enough, they are granted the ability to become Bwyell Ifanc. Like Gwaywffon Ifanc, the Bwyell Ifanc have a chance to either become Coeden Fwyell or become what most who join the Llychlyn military aspire to become, Helwyr Saethwr.

-Coeden Fwyell, 5 RP: Armed with heavy armour and the strength and stamina to make it seem as if they were only wearing moderate protection for most of a fight, the Coeden Fwyell are experts at combat involving the axe and shield. Knowing how to deal with soldiers armed similarly to themselves along with other formations. They, like Gwaywffyn Mynydd, tend to lead groups of Bwyell Ifanc and listen to only generals and Meistri Rhyfel as superiors.

-Helwyr Saethwr, 5 RP: Armed with bow and moderate armor of steel made to not inhibit dexterity, the children of Fanw in the military who become Helwyr Saethwr are those who have become strong and well trained enough to be granted the most honored role of being able to wield the bow. Granted with warbows and a side arm be it sword or axe, these soldiers fire at extreme range with extreme accuracy. They are some of the best of the best, though, there are even more skilled warriors, though few in number.

-Meistri Rhyfel, 10 RP: The Meistri Rhyfel are the best of the best, soldiers who have lived and trained for ages and honing their skill to an exhaustive degree. Commonly, they are masters of both bow and either spear or axe, wielding both in battle, and commonly they are the ones trained to command and lead the soldiers below them into battle. They are commonly equipped with whatever they desire, and commonly are at least two hundred years old. Few are of their number, but they certainly are a force to be reckoned with, at range or up close.

Fanw Howell: Fanw is the Goddess of hunting, Ranged Combat (though most think its just archery), and Stature (Both meanings of the word). It is believed that they take a form similar to the Children of Fanw, with with the ears, tail, nails and eyes that her children have, specifically with long brown hair and amber eyes and always with a bow in hand or put away. They are considered a fair and kind goddess who cares for their children and who makes sure the woods are plentiful with food and teaming with life. However, it is believed by quite a few that, in defense of her children, she will take away quarry that hunters would go for in the area's of the threat after and instead will fill the woods with predators, far more aggressive than normal, specifically to invaders, and that should things get desperate, she herself will arrive with no restraint on her power. Not everyone believes this entirely, though it is certainly comforting to a degree. Something all followers of Fanw can agree on however, is that she almost always is manifested in the world, and wanders the woods and wilds of the world, calmly hunting and living a simple, but fairly peaceful existence. It's said that mortals who meet her will find her helpful as a friendly guide so long as their intentions are well meaning, making some small talk and sharing some food that she hunted before sometimes informing them of something important to them, such as the location of something they had lost and were looking for, or how to deal with something that has been plaguing them. If the person is ill willed, they usually will simply leave such people alone, though sometimes it is said they will try and convince them to change... It also should be noted that, despite not being a nature/forest god, she does have issue with people completely chopping down entire forests with no intention of any kind of preservation, after all, if you remove the forest, you remove the animals that lived there you could have hunted. Though, the removal of chunks of forests for some development is fine so long as its not a quarter of the entire forest and the new plains can still support small game or something of the like. Additionally, Despite beliefs otherwise, she doesn't view weapons like muskets, slings, or crossbows as lesser weapons, even if her followers will probably argue among themselves claiming otherwise, in fact, in her manifested form, one can find practically every kind of ranged weapon somewhere on her person, from throwing axes to the classic bow, though the weapons in question are only the kind of ranged weapons that are used in the local area, so no one will see her with a crossbow somewhere no one has them or something similar.

Children of Fanw: Fanw herself grants protection over the Children of Fanw, and should the worst come to worst and Llychlyn finds itself in a final battle for survival, Fanw will help her children and try to protect them from the ones attacking them personally. Of course, Fanw won't exactly do much directly out side of making wild animals attack invaders more often and lower the amount of prey the invaders can get until Llychlyn is truly desperate, but should the fate of the children of Fanw and Llychlyn rest on a battle, she will be there, and she will do her best to drive them off.

Faith in Fanw: the Children of Fanw have an almost unbreakable faith in their goddess, though they tend to be causal about it and not force their faith upon others who happen to believe in other things. Regardless, the Children of Fanw call themselves that for a reason... Regardless, were Fanw to theoretically manifest in a battle for the heartland of the kingdom, they'd certainly be rallied by it and would fight to the very last, not just for their home, their clans, their kin, but also their goddess. (Think of both of these applying directly to the abilities of Fanw, I think sacrificing both resources for Fanw is fair trade to have Fanw as a hero, as Fanw is a goddess after all...)

Prenhaearn: (2) Some forests in Llychlyn are made up of pine like tree's called Prenhaearn. These trees have wood about as durable as iron and aren't really that flamable. Of course, actually chopping them down and refining them is easier said than done, but its not impossible with the proper tools and techniques which Llychlyn has made. Needless to say, buildings made out of such strong wood are quite resilient, both to fire and to damage, and so too are shields, tool handles, and anything else made from the stuff as well.

Castellmeindwr: (8 ) Castellmeindwr is a large fortification made out of mostly prenhaearn The fortification is split into nine separate area's Four inner area's, four outer, and one center. The only way to travel through these area's is through specific entrances. This is done to make an attacking force have to go through choke points and means that should an attacking army go over the walls they can't just capture the entire wall without having to go through many of these choke points. The castle's walls obviously have crenellations and machicolations to make shooting at an attacker that much easier, and a simple ditch with spikes of normal wood surrounds the castle. The center of the fortification includes a main building which has a drawbridge connected to one of the walls, which can be raised and forces the attacking force to have to break through the walls of the main castle, climb it, or simply try to wait out the defenders, and the portion of the castle that is below the drawbridge is dedicated to storage of food and supplies.

Things have been surprisingly quiet as of late, at least when it comes to other nations. I've not gotten a letter back yet, and I just am nervously waiting because of it. Other than that, the arguments seemingly just wont end, and if I have to deal with them as long as my mother had to deal with the ones over crossbows I don't think I'll be able to handle it. How my mother was able to is beyond me, though, she was just a much better leader than me over all, so I suppose its not that surprising.

I was hoping for a clear response from Fanw but all I got was a vague dream, one I could interpret in many different ways. Though, I suppose that was the point.

I suppose I wrote too soon. A strange object fell from the sky next to the small fort Castell Coedsig Fanw. There has been an order for most of our soldiers to head out and arrive at the fortification, just in case something comes out of the meteor, or something comes after it. Though, obviously it would be much better for it to have landed next to Castellmeindwr.

Hopefully, nothing bad happens from this...Hopefully. In other, better news, the smith and the Clan Howell member working on the so called Cymeriadau Arbennig and Dur Bendigedig claim they almost perfected the latter, while work continues on the former. Its properties are very promising apparently.

Hmm, I can see this is a serious issue for you. While I can't offer precise advice without more precise explanations, what I can say, is that just from what you've written, I can tell you care for your people. Perhaps you weren't the best candidate for the role, but someone who goes into a job thinking they are the best choice is often not, because they lack care. The fact that you're writing this letter, asking for advice, only supports that thought further.

That brings me to my second point. You don't have to do it all alone. You are the ruler yes, you have the final say, but that does not mean you must work alone. If you truly believe your sister would know better than you, ask her to be your advisor. And, if you do not have one, may I suggest a system of mayorship? Where a leader is decided for each town/village, such that they can handle the smaller issues, and bring the big ones to you. I can attest that such a system works, after all, you're writing to one such local leader now! I govern over Horrorvale, but it is but one small portion of the nation presided over by Hades.

A ship crashed inside a mountain range, with mountains to the south, north, and east, with not much notable terrain, just fields.

Alpha Mercs: A dime a dozen, they're simply well-rounded mercs tasked with one goal: Shoot at anything hostile to us, and don't shoot anything that isn't. They typically have access to most of the arsenal, which is assault rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, pistols, revolvers, and all those swords supplied to us by those White Castle guys. The armor is also various plated armor that we have the schematics for thanks to various companies back when the Saltshaker was actually in space, but most of it is more or less standard field armor. Their armor has red accents to distinguish them from other squads. Some of them have attached scopes to their rifles for when they'll be needing to take long range shots.

For the sake of organisation, I'm sorting them into Melee and Ranged Alpha mercs. (and also because I can't be bothered to write two separate infodumps about melee/ranged versions of otherwise near identical troops)

White Castle Screeches: They're screeches that are armed with swords, and have shields + plate armor. We're not sure why they like to screech about wanting to retake Jerusalem, but to each their own. I'm here to command our mercs, not wonder why our screeches screech.

Alpha Medics: Our support units, they're tasked with keeping their fellow mercs alive, and fighting hostiles when they don't have any fellow mercs to heal. They're generally given access to the same weapons as regular alpha mercs, but are also given medical supplies. Their armor also has red accents to mark them as part of the Alpha squad.

Veterans: The main forces of the Delta squad, they're equipped with the more expensive and powerful weaponry, and are more specialized. They usually wield heavier weaponry, and are given elite training, and cost 3x as much as a normal merc to recruit because of the more vigorous training they need. Their armor has purple accents to indicate they're part of the Delta squad.

Heroes:
Field Commander 'Deusus Maximus': Our main leader for field operations, he manages the officers on the field, who in turn manage the normal mercs in battle. He's equipped with one of our Knight Commander armor sets made before the crash which lead to our advanced manufacturing systems to be destroyed, and wields a high quality broadsword also made before the crash, which sends hostiles flying the fuck away like they were hit with a giant truck, and also causes lightning to flash out.

Toxic Undead Flora & Fauna: We've gotten these from trading with Horrorvale, these plants and animals are not only undead, but poisonous. We've developed protocols and manuals for maximizing poison extraction and reliably keeping a sustainable source of them respectively. Plans to weaponise it are being considered if we have to break the Geneva convention.

Domestic:
Gunpowder: It's a powder that explodes when ignited, used primarily for launching bullets at anything in front of one of our gun users. It's that simple. We found a huge cache of undetonated gunpowder where our ammunition manufacturing systems are, so we at least should have more than enough. (Mass Produced)

Muskets: Since we're pretty desperate, we've resorted to manufacturing these with what's still functional out of the manufacturing part of the ship. They're simple: you insert powder into the back of the barrel, then a bullet, then you cock the gun, and finally, you pull the trigger to hopefully kill whatever you're shooting at. (Mass Produced)

Scopes: They're scopes. You look through them, and you can more precisely see stuff from longer distances. We're gonna mass produce them for our soldiers that need the extra accuracy/zoom. (mass produced)

Modern Firearms: Assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, machine guns, SMGs, pistols, pretty much a huge bulk of our arsenal back when we were in space and not a group of crash landed mercs on some unknown planet. We now have them mass produced because fuck balance.

Grenades: Simple devices, you pull the pin, toss them at anything you need exploded, and hope you didn't accidentally forget about anything you don't want destroyed being within the general area of the grenade. There's also smoke grenades and flashbangs, releasing clouds of obscuring smoke and blinding anyone who looks at them respectively. Considering our past research, we could make poison gas grenades, but to do that, we'll have to find out how to put toxic gas into our smoke grenades.

Projects:
Form an elite squad: By starting to give specific high potential soldiers even more training, we have reformed Delta Squad, which is the elite branch of our forces. They're small in number, but their training makes them lethal on the field.

Create self-contained firearm cartridges: We're had to remake the ammunition schematics for our actual military grade ammo due to us loosing the methods of making them during the crash. Either way, we can be assured reloading in the field will be way faster now.

Create magnifying lenses: We've decided some of our men could use scopes, so we've started making them.

Start repairing the firearm manufacturing systems: Now that we've gotten all the stuff we'll need for modern firearm operation and manufacturing, like actually decent ammo, we've decided we have sufficient ability to finally repair our firearm manufacturing machinery. We just have to make a few adjustments, and soon we'll soon have the ability to dominate in ranged combat. Assault rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, pistols, and all that other good stuff.

Figure out the perfect conditions for mass harvesting toxins from our new shipment of poisonous flora and fauna: Self explanatory, we've been finding out both 1: How to maximise harvests from each invividual plant/animal, and 2: How to reliably and self sustainably keep getting enough flora/fauna to harvest toxins from.

Mercdonalds Origin:

Humans went into space, and fast food groups ended up being the primary food suppliers. They soon found that it's really hard to keep their supply lines safe from pirates and such.
The higher ups went "Hey this whole franchise thing worked well with food, why not try it with mercs?", and it went over well and ended up as the primary focus of the company. MercDonalds was born from this.

Screeches:

An alien race that found their way onto a ship and made themselves useful enough to be kept around. They are friendly to familiar human crew, if a bit obnoxious at times, and will fiercely (even suicidally) defend the ship against hostile incursions.

Screeches are one of the most versatile tools available to Man - under a seemingly innocent roundy baldy headed yellow ball lies a being of many faces and infinite power. They say the Big Bang was followed by a sound of screeching, too. Screeches have many specialties - some drop straight into the colony, chasing around any poor xeno they set their sights on, some stand vigilant onboard the ship, ready to harmbaton and call out any potential hostile's location on general channel, some are weak, wielding only pistols, and some don a red bandana and carry a machinegun that wipes weaker xenos in a single burst. And some, when under pressure of seemingly impossible odds, are said to tap into the primordial REE that resides within them, going into a murderous, albeit short-lived rage, it's short span not nearly short enough for any sighted foes to survive the screeching fury...

Some meteor crashed down in southeastern Llychlyn. We'll be sending a lot of forces to secure it. Hopefully with our numbers and technology, retrieving it should go well. Oh, and some clown forgot to put them back in the armory vendor menu. Fixed that.

Strategy
Once our army of mercs gets to the meteor, we'll have a forward operating base set up nearby (preferably as close to the comet as possible). Should anything attack us, well, let's just say we have fully automatic firearms for a good reason. Our veterans will provide suppression with their LMGs and sniper rifles, and our medics should provide failsafes should any mercs get injured.

Duels have both kingdoms fighting on neutral ground, with both players involved posting the troops committed, and PMing everything else to the GM.

As you can see, there are areas within Horrorvales bounds that aren't technically part of the geographical location of Horrorvale, these are noticeable for being decidedly un-spooky. Also, because some douchewaffle decided they really wanted a full scale McMansion in the only clear path out of Horrorvale valley(and they didn't even stay and live in it, fucker just left), the only way to exit or enter is through the Withering Woods, this is where most Wendigos live, which makes it substantially less dangerous than otherwise, if still exceptionally spooky even compared to the rest of the region.

Troops:

Skeleton Witches/Warlocks - Skeletons where among the first settlers in Horrorvale, back when Hades and Death themselves presided over this section of the Underworld made Overworld. While their complete lack of muscle, biological or ectoplasmic, means they are physically fairly weak(though it does leave them significantly less vulnerable to piercing weaponry), their magical prowess is nothing to scoff at. Thus is the military, they generally serve as a combination Mage-Support unit. Slinging offensive spells such as Firebolt, Bone Barrage, and Heal, while restoring their allies strength with Decay, Death, and Poison. (2 points)

Militia - Zombies, Ghouls, Mummies, less magically inclined skeletons, anyone who isn't automatically filtered into another force for their species, but isn't joining one of the non-species based forces, joins these. While they can't be said to be particularly capable, they can be fielded in great numbers than any fully fledged military force. They most often come equipped with light armor, and simple shortswords. Additionally though, every Militia member comes equipped with one firebomb(fragile potion pouches that spray a liquid which rapidly ignites upon bursting), to be used at their discretion, or that of their Commanding Officer, who is generally a Frankenling.

Vampiric Ambush Force - Vampires, swift, graceful, deadly, able to transform into small animals and suck the blood straight from someones veins. They would be the perfect soldiers if not for their fatal flaws. Sunlight burns their skin, garlic is poison, and stakes might as well come pre-poisoned. While in a Horrorvaleans perfect world the sun wouldn't matter as people would be awake at night and sleep through the day, the average soldier of Horrorvale is well aware that this is only the case in their homeland. As such, VAF units can only be deployed after dark, and must immediately retreate to hidden/defended locations as the sun begins to rise. That being said, when they are deployed, they can be truly frightening. Moving with great speed in their leather gear, their razor sharp Crimtain daggers easily find gaps in enemy armor and creates wounds that bleed far longer than normal. Their ability to transform into small animals also allows them to sneak into tight places. This makes them excellent for limiting the enemies force before battle can begin, and for dealing decisive strikes to otherwise occupied foes in night battles. (2 points)

Wendigo Berzerkers - Wendigos, the rarest of Undead species that can truly be said to be a major part of Horrorvale society. Standing head and shoulders over the average man. Their prodigious strength, even for their size, allows them to wield exceptionally large weapons. Their flesh is tough, easily limiting the damage they take even ignoring their armor, and by feasting on meat they can heal their wounds. However, they do not take to tactics well, nor magic, much prefering the very direct solution of "Charge straight forward and cleave anybody that doesn't give up in half." Nevertheless they are an effective, and truly terrifying, fighting force. (5 points)

Ecto-sappers - Ghosts are a very common sight within Horrorvale. More than likely the single most common race here in fact, edging out Wendigos and Zombies combined. That being said, their unique physical traits make them awkward to fit into any un-specialized military unit. The ecto-sappers are one such unit, ghosts making full use of their ability to go intangible at will and possess objects to bypass and destroy enemy fortifications and defenses before the main force moves in. When intangible, mundane objects simply pass through them, though the same cannot be said of magic or anything enchanted, and intangibility can't be partial. Ghosts are quite lacking in physical strength on their own, meaning that when caught not-possessing an object they struggle to fight back, and even if they are possessing an object they will die when it is destroyed. Still, these spectral soldiers can turn an enemies siege weapons and fortifications into their own worst enemies given the chance. (3 points)

Frankenling Shock Troopers - The artificial undead created by the the Mayor. Stitched together from severed parts. While they are not as strong and quick as Wendigos, they are more durable, and more tactically minded, and do trend towards a higher intelligence. Not to mention, while they may not be particularly magically capable, the natural electric charge to their bodies can be used to fire bolts of electricity at close ranges. Each one is equipped with full iron armor and proper broadswords. Frankenlings are the ideal public servants, working as everything from postman to soldier, they are born for their jobs, and they take to them with pride and skill. (3 points)

Beast-Kin Ranger - Beast-kin is less a species of undead, and more a classification. Wolf-people, cat-people, bird-people, spider-people. If it's an animal, there's a beast-kin species for it. That being said, each one possesses traits common for said animals, which very uniformly make them skilled for fighting and surviving in the wilderness. With our new crossbows, a non-magical ranged unit has become all the more viable and useful, and as such, these rangers take full advantage of that. (2 points)

Heroes:
Mayor Ludwigg... Fikleheim? Fanglefoot? Frankenfurter? Something like that- The Mayor of the town of Horrorvale, a scientist whos technological genius is decades if not more beyond that of his citizens. Yet, he loves them all the same. He was the victim of an incredibly rare condition known as 'Aging', where his body, after hitting maturity, began to ever so slowly degrade. To counteract this, he built a mechanical body, and had his brain implanted into it via brain-jar. This body stands larger than a minotaur, has strength to match, a surprising amount of speed, and can fire off blasts of lightning. Unfortunately, this is not his natural body, and thus not the one he will un-die into should he be slain. Instead it will have to be re-built.

Grave Hands- A unique form of undead, the Grave Hands has been employed as the Mayors personal bodyguard. Six long, powerful arms stretch from his underside into the ground beneath him, and he can burrow through stone and soil at great speeds. These arms are capable of stretching great distances, allowing them to strike foes from below at great distances, and grip them in place when needed. His body is also particularly durable, making up somewhat for the fact that he cannot wear proper armor if he is to tunnel places. As an undead, he will of course, revive if killed through most methods, in order to directly destroy him, one must target the soul itself.

Gunpowder - A substance I've heard tales of from far off lands. Gunpowder is an explosive powder, typically used for the propulsion of projectiles. While we could simply make use of this directly, plans are rather to use it as a base to build off of on our own.

Domestic:
Underworld Magic - For the most part, a vague collection of rather simple spells. 'Life' spells for combat, 'Death' spells for healing, some more basic combat spells that just fire different sorts of projectiles, a variety of empowerment spells, that sort of thing. Nothing esoteric such as wishes and polymorphing, just your classic array of magic spells, with a Halloween theme. A note to make however, is that the Life and Death spells do act as they say, it's just the effects of Life and Death magics have inverse effects upon the Undead. This is likely to come as a rude awakening when they find they need to double down on Death spells to both heal and hurt while completely giving up the Life ones.

Necromancy - A major portion of magic used in Horrorvale is Necromancy. And when I say major, I mean as in like, it's the sole option for reproduction for a majority of Horrorvales natives. Skeletons, Zombies, Mummies, Wendigos and Ghosts can't have babies after all, and that's only the major examples. So instead they pluck a lost soul that has been scoured clean of its identity out of Limbo, and slap it into a new, magically formed body, which ages as normal(at least until maturity, where all but the most tragically unlucky will simply stop aging). A notable effect of this is that Horrorvales citizens can't die properly, no form of afterlife will take recycled souls, not even Limbo itself, and so they just wake up again with a new body where they last slept. This doesn't make dying any more pleasant, but it makes it less frightening. That is not the only use for Necromancy however, as it can be used by trained professionals as a way to quickly get Undead who have once again become dead back into the fight.

Reagents-a-plenty - Eye of newt and tongue of frog, wing of bat and hair of dog. The wilderness around Horrorvale is absolutely overflowing with potent Potionology reagents. From the rivers and lakes literally flowing with blood, to bushes that sprout eyes, and every type of poisonous or carnivorous plant you can think of. If it's good for potions, Horrorvale has it. This makes them some of the most accomplished alchemists in the world, with access to all sorts of useful concoctions. The fact that healing potions and poisons have reversed effects on the Undead is made all the better by the fact that they have so much access to poison.

Alchemy Forges - Through the combination of more advanced forges/techniques, and Potionology, a variety of new useful metal alloys can be made. In addition to the typical metals such as steel and bronze, this also includes metals with unique properties, these include; Flintsteel(Capable of igniting easily when struck in the right way, extinguishes quickly due to being nonflammable), Cold Iron(Iron that weakens magical effects from proximity and contact), Orichalcum(Can be sharpened into incredibly fine edges and holds them longer under use), and Crimtain(slows blood clotting, causing wounds to bleed longer. Vampires like to lick it).

Mechanical Weaponry- Crossbows and their variations, as well as catapults and other siege weaponry, have been a notable part of warfare for quite some time. It speaks a lot about the peace in our lands that we have yet to develop such things. Now however, it has gotten to a point where there is simply no reason not to.
Projects:
Horrorvale [8]- The city of Horrorvale, named for the valley in which it resides. Once, this land was fraught with horrible monsters and unspeakable beasts. Now the monsters are polite and the beasts just undead. Still though, Horrorvale has been built from this time, as such the city is practically a fortress. Every single external wall is thick and made of dark stone bricks, and the city is entirely surrounded by even thicker walls, and the ground is paved in many areas. It is, of course, still a city though, so traps are practically nonexistant in the streets, and siege weapons can be wheeled right through the gate and past the walls entirely if no attempt to stop them is made. Still though, the gates are the only actual weak point in Horrorvales walls. (Makes the Capital of Horrorvale double as an exceptionally sized Fortress, though with the problems that come from being a city)

Reagent Harvest Standardization [3]- A project to standardize and optimize the harvesting of Horrorvales natural supply of Potion reagents. Thus allowing them to easily be accessed when needed by those who need them. (provides the 'Reagents-a-plenty' Supply)

Standardized Ghost Unit [2]- The innate physical weaknesses of being a ghost and their only occasionally corporeal nature lead to them being rather awkward to fit into existing military groups. While they could float through walls or attacks, in doing so they would simply float out of their equipment. This requires ghosts to have specialized Units made to optimize their usage. The Ecto-sappers are merely the first example of such a unit. (provides 'Ecto-sappers' Troop)

Military Frankenling production and training [2]- In anticipation for coming potential conflict, Mayor Faffenpaffers production of Frankenlings has shifted steadily towards military focus. There is some worry about the ethics of creating thinking, unliving people for the singular purpose of war, but the ease of which they integrate into normal Horrorvale society has done well to assuage fears. (provides 'Frankenling Shock Troopers' Troop)

Frankenling Combat Armor [2]- Proper armor dedicated for Frankenling use. Where their iron armor would diffuse the Frankenlings electric bolts causing them to fly off course and wasting a decent portion of electricity, their new armor has been specially crafted with inlaid copper wiring leading towards the fingertips. This means that electrical attacks come out more focused and accurate, with much less of the power diffusing out into the rest of the armor. A pair of lightning rods have also been added to the back, which can channel what electricity does diffuse back into the Frankenling, completely erasing the power wasted in the act of firing bolts. They also allow loose electricity to recharge the Frankenling in small amounts. (upgrades Frankenling Shock Troopers with more accurate and powerful lightning attacks, and greater energy efficiency)

Advanced Metal Forging [3]- With Mayor Frankfurters technological advancements, we've managed to develop a variety of alloys, combinations of different metals. Particularly, through the addition of potionology, we've developed several magical alloys with unique effects. We expect these in particular will see great use in the future, for a variety of purposes. (Unlocks 'Alchemy Forges' supply)

Simple Mechanisms [3]- While mechanical contraptions had already seen a good bit of use. They had always been fairly large, and used for fairly large scale things. Stuff like Horrorvales gate, or the elevators in Mayo Furklefoots lab. With this, proper mechanisms are becoming more and more common in everyday life, and are even beginning to find their way into the weaponry utilized by our developing military. (Provides 'Mechanical Weaponry' Supply)

Orichalcum Refit [2]- With the creation of Orichalcum, a metal than can be sharpened incredibly finely and retains its edge even through extensive use, tools in Horrorvale have developed to new heights, trees can be felled at greater speeds when wood is needed, stone can be carved at a greater pace, animals can be skinned and butchered with greater efficiency. It is only natural that such a metal would find its way into the military as well. The brave men, women, and others of our militia have been equipped with new Orichalcum swords, which can cut through far tougher materials than their basic iron weaponry ever could. (Upgrades Militia weaponry to Orichalcum, making them capable of doing increased damage in melee combat)

Mechanized Weaponry [2]- Weaponry using simple mechanisms to function rather than pure strength. While this sort of weaponry may be less useful for our more physically adept soldiers, being that they cannot make use of their prodigious strength with it, for our other forces these should prove invaluable. Already we have begun the creation of a proper force to make use of these new weapons, which should allow us to deal dangerous strikes at range without relying upon magic. Crimtain Refit [2]- Crimtain also presents to us a design of use. While civilian-wise it is at best a novely for vampires, for military use it allows our weapons the bleed out enemies with far lighter injuries than would otherwise be necessary. Naturally, Crimtain knives make a perfect fit for our Vampiric Ambush Force. Allowing them to strike unseen and leave their targets crumpling to the ground bleeding.(Upgrades Vampiric Ambush Force with crimtain weaponry, causing foes cut by them to bleed for much longer, greatly increasing the risk of bleeding out)

Further Alchemical Materials research [3]- Through the combination of metalworking and potionology, two new forms of alchemically enhanced material have been created. The first, silverweave, is thin and flexible, and incredibly light, comparable to particularly durable cloth, while it may not be able to stop more powerful weapons, it is very light and should be easily useable for things that would be unable to handle the weight of traditional armor. The other is Adamantite, while heavier than iron, it is also more durable by far, capable of taking much greater punishment before giving. This undoubtedly will be very good for making armor.

Bodyguard; The Grave Hands [3]- The newest hire, a unique undead. Capable of tunneling through the ground at great speed, six powerful arms stretch from the underside of his body, and can stretch great distances. He has currently made several spots all around the laboratory and Horrorvale Heights from which he acts as a living security system.

Log AABY-011: For the love of Death! It seems I have grown complacent. It appears that, not only did I forget to file a log yestarday, but in the process of rectifying this, I have noticed several cases of mismanagement. First of all being that I had not been properly keeping track of my troops. This has been fixed, however in the process I noticed that the only forces in the Vampiric Ambush force, where ones that where recruited between now and the last time the count was accurate. I suppose it doesn't matter too much, after all, deploying assassins en-masse is rather counter productive.
In other news however, The Grave Hand has been acclimating well with the laboratory and the surrounding area. Practically a living security system that one. I doubt any small force is going to be able to sneak past him, and any large force to try blasting through is going to have to contend with the precarious mountainside paths on the way up. We've also made several more alchemically enhanced materials, though I won't be putting them to use just yet. I have other projects in mind for right now.

Yari Ashigaru (cost 1): Pikemen clad in basic armor. Because any army requires cannon fodder to send in and occupy a place. They are well drilled, so they excel in area denial with tight formations of pike walls. Though flanking makes them have to draw swords, and they are vulnerable to arrows. So by themselves they can be outmaneuvered or wittled down.
Basic Sword Training (1 PP): Given training with a smaller weapon, they will not immediately shatter when flanked.

Magi Samurai (cost 5): The noble remnants of the previous regime. The Samurai have adopted the magical crystals of their new overlords, and use it to augment their bushido. The Samurai are excellent melee combatants, and wreathing their swords in moonlight power, they can project sword slashes. This makes them ferocious in a melee, as they can not only cut through steel, but also outreach most spears. Though these special moves drain their crystals faster.

Magi Miko (cost 2): Armed with bows and firing magical arrows. The Miko are apprentice magical girls. Firing magical arrows is a good way to train the channeling of magical power, while keeping their gear relatively light. They have a katana, but no armor and little training. They will do poorly if they're engaged in melee.
Basic Akatsuki no Megane Training (1 PP): Equipped and trained in the use of the Akatsuki no Megane models. This enhances their sight range due to the magnified lens, and lets them detect anomalous energies.

Magi Shoujo (cost 10): Clad in the Tsuki no Yoroi, these magical girls are the real deal. They'd look lightly equipped out of combat, with a glaive and a handful pieces of armor. But with a song and a dance, their armor will deploy, making them only second to the samurai in armor. Transformed, their projectiles become even deadlier, not to mention whoever is unfortunate enough to be hit by their glaives. They can also fly, though doing so drains their magical reserves faster than any other. It is important for  the magicla girls to know when to and when not to utilize their aerial capabilities.

Magi Kunoichi (cost 4, 2 PP): Adorned with the Akatsuki no Megane, and wielding a magical naginata. These women operate as battle ninjas. Sneaking around enemy lines to  hit vulnerable areas. But if they are caught out in the open, they will not fare well, on account of no armor or extra mobility. High risk, but they can reap a bloody harvest if they ever get to someone's archers or other support units.

Heroes:
Magi Shogun Akatsuki Rin Saito: The great and honorable leader of the Akatsuki Sente. Akatsuki is a pragmatic girl, willing to kill, cheat and steal to get her way. Her husband, the emperor, is naught but a pawn to her, with no real power. Though not the magical girl she used to be, even having lost her left eye. She is a peerless tactician, intimately aware of the capabilities and limitations of the magical equipment. And ultimately, the people have prospered under her rule.

Magi Samurai Akio Kato (1 PP): A veteran from the civil war. He's faced Akatsuki numerous times. But never able to actually hurt her, thanks to her magical armor. But now that he has Tsukiwara no Dachi, he is a force to be reckoned with. Had he wielded it back in the civil war. Then he would've likely destroyed Akatsuki's magical girls, no problem. But he is no honorbound to Akatsuki's service. For he is an honorable samurai, and thus, trustworthy. Even as a former foe.

Domestic:
Tsuki no Kessho Model 2.0: Magical crystal used to store and channel the power of the moon. This newest model retains the output power of the original while having a much larger storage capacity. This means magical girls no longer have to ration their energy expenditure based on the phases of the moon.

Tsuki no Yoroi Model 1.4: The most modern magical armor. It increases the focus of the wearer, while also providing excellent protection. However, it's power consumption is still high. A Magical Girl might just run out in the midst of flight, if they're careless. So most of the time in an inactive state. Only activated once battle starts. Akatsuki no Megane Model 1.0 (3 PP): Employing glass and crystal, these glasses not only let you freely zoom in on things, but also lets them detect anomalous energies. It's not certain if it can detect yokai, though.

Tsukiwara no Dachi (Unique, 4 PP): A mighty sword infused with moon crystal. No finer conduit for moon power exists. It's an absolute monster at close range, able to cleave many a man in twain in a single slash.

Tengu no Yoroi Model 1.2 (Limited Production, 3 PP): A much reduced magical armor compared to the Tsuki no Yoroi. But is lighter, less conspicuous, and more manageable for rookies. It looks like regular clothing, but once activated, it becomes an elaborate dress. It's magical weave gives protection, additional focus, and even limited flight. However, it's activation is still flashy. So once activated, stealth ends.

Develop Tsukihagane (4/9 PP):PAUSED During the forging of the Tsukiwara no Dachi, we found that we had by chance created a special metal, with excellent magical properties. The amounts were minute, but with enough development, we may be able to consistently create it. This will mark a new age for the Akatsuki Sente.

Prepare Response Team (0/x PP): The meteor might have more travelers, or something else. We must secure it's perimeter. The response team will be light, but elite.

Yari Ashigaru basic sword training (1 PP). When flanked, their pikes are useless. Some basic sword training will make them last a little while, until they can be rescued.
Develop Akatsuki no Megane Model 1.0 (3 PP): Treating glass with moon crystal, we can etch magical diagrams onto it, while allowing vision through them. By constructing the right diagrams, we should be able to greatly amplify the vision of our operatives. May help our archers as well. But mainly, it will let us hunt down yokai with even greater efficiency.
Forge Tsukiwara no Dachi (4 PP). The Samurai Akio Kato demands a sword worthy of his service before we can recruit him. This great sword will be infused with moon crystal, to make whoever wields it a Magi Samurai beyond compare.
Recruit Magi Samurai Akio Kato (1 PP): Now a sword is all fine and well, but he needs a little bit more convincing. So we've arranged a hunting trip. Called off the hunters for the day, so he can take the sword for a test run.
Mass produce Akatsuki no Megane (2 PP): For fielding them en masse, our current output just isn't enough. We need more. One in every hunter's repertoire. Maybe we can even start fielding hunters as troops.
Train Magi Kunoichi (2 PP): With the mass production of the glasses halfway done, we can start the first steps in training them in large enough numbers to become part of our army. They are intermediate level Magical Girls. Learning stealth and ambush strategies.
Train Magi Miko in the use of Akatsuki no Megane (1 PP): These new glasses not only provide zoom, but can even spot energy. The Magi Miko are terrible in melee, and you never know what trickery the enemy may be up to.
Develop Tengu no Yoroi Model 1.2 (3 PP): A lighter version of the magical armor. It resembles standard clothing, and only changes into more fancy clothes when activated. It doesn't provide the same focus, and especially not the same protection. But don't underestimate the strength of magically infused cloth. A big feature is the limited floating ability. Which will not only render all falls safe. But also allow them to glide away from danger.

I've gotten reports of a new meteor strike. And close by too. In the neighboring lands of Llychlyn. Is this another of those comet people's cities? Are they invading? This is bad.
The development of Tsukihagane has been halted, and the efforts put toward preparing an offensive. This will harm our relations with Llychlyn, but one city was bad enough.
We will be fielding a rapid response unit. It will lack staying power, but make one hell of an impact. I will even spearhead the expedition myself. Like the battle of Yamato Palace.
I am also sending a high speed letter to Llychlyn, to hopefully not have to face them in addition to whatever the meteor may hold, or attract.
Reports say it's not nearly as big, but it is a meteor. So we best be doubly cautious.

Strategy
Approach will be made by mundane means. Saving energy for the engagement. When in range, the Kunoichi will dash forth, spotting any enemy, and reporting back. Hopefully Llychlyn permits this incursion, or our troops will likely not stand a chance, and it'll have to be called off.
If we get to it before enemies are spotted, then the samurai will start making crude fortifications. As they will have to act as the Ashigaru in this engagement. And will have to act as frontline infantry if the meteor is occupied.
The Magi Miko and Kunoichi will act as support, as archers and skirmishers.
The Magi Shoujo, commanded by Akatsuki herself, will be doing aerial attacks upon any ground forces, aiming to break any and all tight formation.

-Gwaywffon Ifanc, 4 RP: Usually lightly or moderately armored with leather and at most some gambeson. Always with a spear in hand, these soldiers are new to the military, and as such, their numbers tend to be one of the highest. Every member of the proper Llychlyn army is a Gwaywffon Ifanc at the start of their career, becoming Bwyell Ifanc after some time training, or Gwaywffyn Mynydd should they grow fond of the spear.

-Gwaywffyn Mynydd, 5 RP: Commonly moderately armored with leather and gambeson and at most a steel plate, these well trained and physically fit by Children of Fanw standards are significantly better than normal spearmen. Each thrust of their spears tends to be true, and commonly they lead groups of Gwaywffon Ifanc, with only generals and Meistri Rhyfel as their superiors.

-Bwyell Ifanc, 4 RP: With moderate or heavy armor, commonly incorporating steel, the Bwyell Ifanc are always armed with a shield and a axe. Naturally, once the Children of Fanw who train as a Gwaywffon Ifanc are strong and trained enough, they are granted the ability to become Bwyell Ifanc. Like Gwaywffon Ifanc, the Bwyell Ifanc have a chance to either become Coeden Fwyell or become what most who join the Llychlyn military aspire to become, Helwyr Saethwr.

-Coeden Fwyell, 5 RP: Armed with heavy armour and the strength and stamina to make it seem as if they were only wearing moderate protection for most of a fight, the Coeden Fwyell are experts at combat involving the axe and shield. Knowing how to deal with soldiers armed similarly to themselves along with other formations. They, like Gwaywffyn Mynydd, tend to lead groups of Bwyell Ifanc and listen to only generals and Meistri Rhyfel as superiors.

-Helwyr Saethwr, 5 RP: Armed with bow and moderate armor of steel made to not inhibit dexterity, the children of Fanw in the military who become Helwyr Saethwr are those who have become strong and well trained enough to be granted the most honored role of being able to wield the bow. Granted with warbows and a side arm be it sword or axe, these soldiers fire at extreme range with extreme accuracy. They are some of the best of the best, though, there are even more skilled warriors, though few in number.

-Meistri Rhyfel, 10 RP: The Meistri Rhyfel are the best of the best, soldiers who have lived and trained for ages and honing their skill to an exhaustive degree. Commonly, they are masters of both bow and either spear or axe, wielding both in battle, and commonly they are the ones trained to command and lead the soldiers below them into battle. They are commonly equipped with whatever they desire, and commonly are at least two hundred years old. Few are of their number, but they certainly are a force to be reckoned with, at range or up close.


Heroes:
Fanw Howell: Fanw is the Goddess of hunting, Ranged Combat (though most think its just archery), and Stature (Both meanings of the word). It is believed that they take a form similar to the Children of Fanw, with with the ears, tail, nails and eyes that her children have, specifically with long brown hair and amber eyes and always with a bow in hand or put away. They are considered a fair and kind goddess who cares for their children and who makes sure the woods are plentiful with food and teaming with life. However, it is believed by quite a few that, in defense of her children, she will take away quarry that hunters would go for in the area's of the threat after and instead will fill the woods with predators, far more aggressive than normal, specifically to invaders, and that should things get desperate, she herself will arrive with no restraint on her power. Not everyone believes this entirely, though it is certainly comforting to a degree. Something all followers of Fanw can agree on however, is that she almost always is manifested in the world, and wanders the woods and wilds of the world, calmly hunting and living a simple, but fairly peaceful existence. It's said that mortals who meet her will find her helpful as a friendly guide so long as their intentions are well meaning, making some small talk and sharing some food that she hunted before sometimes informing them of something important to them, such as the location of something they had lost and were looking for, or how to deal with something that has been plaguing them. If the person is ill willed, they usually will simply leave such people alone, though sometimes it is said they will try and convince them to change... It also should be noted that, despite not being a nature/forest god, she does have issue with people completely chopping down entire forests with no intention of any kind of preservation, after all, if you remove the forest, you remove the animals that lived there you could have hunted. Though, the removal of chunks of forests for some development is fine so long as its not a quarter of the entire forest and the new plains can still support small game or something of the like. Additionally, Despite beliefs otherwise, she doesn't view weapons like muskets, slings, or crossbows as lesser weapons, even if her followers will probably argue among themselves claiming otherwise, in fact, in her manifested form, one can find practically every kind of ranged weapon somewhere on her person, from throwing axes to the classic bow, though the weapons in question are only the kind of ranged weapons that are used in the local area, so no one will see her with a crossbow somewhere no one has them or something similar.

Children of Fanw: Fanw herself grants protection over the Children of Fanw, and should the worst come to worst and Llychlyn finds itself in a final battle for survival, Fanw will help her children and try to protect them from the ones attacking them personally. Of course, Fanw won't exactly do much directly out side of making wild animals attack invaders more often and lower the amount of prey the invaders can get until Llychlyn is truly desperate, but should the fate of the children of Fanw and Llychlyn rest on a battle, she will be there, and she will do her best to drive them off.

Faith in Fanw: the Children of Fanw have an almost unbreakable faith in their goddess, though they tend to be causal about it and not force their faith upon others who happen to believe in other things. Regardless, the Children of Fanw call themselves that for a reason... Regardless, were Fanw to theoretically manifest in a battle for the heartland of the kingdom, they'd certainly be rallied by it and would fight to the very last, not just for their home, their clans, their kin, but also their goddess. (Think of both of these applying directly to the abilities of Fanw, I think sacrificing both resources for Fanw is fair trade to have Fanw as a hero, as Fanw is a goddess after all...)

Castellmeindwr: (8 ) Castellmeindwr is a large fortification made out of mostly prenhaearn The fortification is split into nine separate area's Four inner area's, four outer, and one center. The only way to travel through these area's is through specific entrances. This is done to make an attacking force have to go through choke points and means that should an attacking army go over the walls they can't just capture the entire wall without having to go through many of these choke points. The castle's walls obviously have crenellations and machicolations to make shooting at an attacker that much easier, and a simple ditch with spikes of normal wood surrounds the castle. The center of the fortification includes a main building which has a drawbridge connected to one of the walls, which can be raised and forces the attacking force to have to break through the walls of the main castle, climb it, or simply try to wait out the defenders, and the portion of the castle that is below the drawbridge is dedicated to storage of food and supplies.

Dur Bendigedig (6): A special blessed steel made with the bones of animals that were hunted. It is more durable than normal steel and is able to hold its edge easier as well. Its also significantly easier to maintain than normal steel, taking an unnatural amount of time to rust or deteriorate, and simple maintenance can keep a weapon using the material lasting for the life times of multiple children of fanw. Additionally, Cymeriadau Arbennig is more powerful when engraved upon the special steel.

Today is hectic. Apparently, I got a letter from the people from Honkoku telling us they plan to march into our lands to make sure the meteor isn't some kind of terrible cursed object, after delays I finally got a response from Ludwigg, though apparently the delays are on the fault of the messenger, though considering everything I don't blame him. Oh, and there's reports of unknown soldiers marching through our lands who aren't from Honkoku. But thats not all, on top of that, apparently work on Dur Bendigedig is done, and I have the reports of their work to read through, which is probably the most enjoyable thing outside of writing to Ludwigg I have to do today.

Regardless, hopefully nothing terrible happens...I genuinely don't want some kind of conflict to happen. Maybe this is the vision that Fanw gave to Arianrhod Wynn, the current leader of clan Wynn. Maybe the warning was true. Hopefully if anything bad happens it can be worked around. Hopefully.

I suppose you are right. Though, my mother always seemed so confident and sure with her every action, and I know full well how much she cared for the people of Llychlyn. Maybe it was because she had Fanw by her side and that helped with her confidence, or maybe she was like me and just good at hiding her nerviousness and fears. I don't know, but there is one thing that bothers me that I'd rather speak about in person, in the future. But, because of that, I suppose it will have to wait until I get the time to visit your lands. Whenever that chance actually comes to me.

I believe your advice of having Blodwyn, my sister, as an adviser is sound and would be helpful. Though I'm unsure how she'd feel about being one. She mostly spends her time hunting or doing other more active things. In a way, she really didn't fall far from the tree at all, both in personality and looks. Of course there are differences, her hair is longer than my mother ever let hers get for one, and she's more brawny in build. I suppose I'm getting off track here, but I believe you get the idea. I seem to do that alot I notice, going off track and focusing on one thing, at least when writing something more casual and comfortable.

As for the system of mayership you mentioned, we have something similar. Usually, in small vilages and towns, a council of leaders from Teulu clans discus how to deal with issues and polocy, with one of them chosen as a leader by all members of the vilage who's vote counts as two instead of one. They remain in that position for ten years before another vote goes. As for larger cities, generally its a combination of important Teulu clan members and Brenhinol clan members who are important inside the city, though usually the Brenhinol clan members only hold sway in the cities they were created in. Like Llewelyn in Lundain.

I'm a bit troubled though, for unrelated reasons however, as at the time of writing this I have recieved a letter of appology from Honkoku, as they are marching into my lands to inspect something that crashed into the earth near my lands. However, they actually sent a message and are doing this because they are worried that the rock might be dangerious. I don't know if they actually believe that from some kind of prophacy or they simply think the recorces from the heavens is useful to them, but either way its concerning. Not as concerning however as two other things.

There is a report of an unknown force of large size marching to the location of the crash, they aren't from Honkoku, they clearly aren't your people as well, and they have not sent any warning what so ever. I'm concerned that they might be an invasion force or plan on causing trouble, made worse by the fact that Arianrhod Wynn, leader of clan Wynn, and the one who spent much effort in getting me to construct Castellmeindwr into a fortress, had a dream likely given to them by Fanw of Llychlyn being invaded by an outside force, which is why the spent so much to try and make me construct that citidel in the first place.

I'll try to keep you updated as the situation progresses, but I am very much worried about all of this.

Initial focus shall be for a few small squads of Gwaywffon Ifanc and Bwyell Ifanc telling the invaders to leave and nothing more, only to attack should they be attacked themselves.
Should these soldiers fail to return, are found to have been killed, or should the unknown invaders be found to refuse leaving, a major force of Gwaywffon Ifanc and Bwyell Infac, with some Gwaywffyn Mynydd and Coeden Fwyell mixed in leading them will be sent and march into clear view while the rest of our forces, made up of Helwyr Saethwr, Meistri Rhyfel, and the rest of the Gwaywffyn Mynydd and Coeden Fwyell will remain in the tree's and out of sight, ready to support the main force should anything kick off.
Unless the soldiers sent to tell the invaders to leave are killed, they will try and slowly push the invaders out without attacking, simply by being in the way.
However, should the invaders attack, or the soldiers sent to tell them to leave were proven to be killed, any and all weapons are ready to be used, hopefully with support from Honkoku.
The forces in the tree's and hidden will attempt to get behind the main force or to their side, and most of the melee force there will charge from behind should things get violent and the enemy be distracted from the fight in front of them, while some stay back to protect the Helwyr Saethwr and the ranged Meistri Rhyfel.
Attempts to meet up with the forces from Honkoku before marching to the unknown invaders will be made should the invaders prove to be hostile and have killed the soldiers sent to tell them to leave politely and peacefully.

Alpha Mercs: A dime a dozen, they're simply well-rounded mercs tasked with one goal: Shoot at anything hostile to us, and don't shoot anything that isn't. They typically have access to most of the arsenal, which is assault rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, pistols, revolvers, and all those swords supplied to us by those White Castle guys. The armor is also various plated armor that we have the schematics for thanks to various companies back when the Saltshaker was actually in space, but most of it is more or less standard field armor. Their armor has red accents to distinguish them from other squads. Some of them have attached scopes to their rifles for when they'll be needing to take long range shots.

For the sake of organisation, I'm sorting them into Melee and Ranged Alpha mercs. (and also because I can't be bothered to write two separate infodumps about melee/ranged versions of otherwise near identical troops)

White Castle Screeches: They're screeches that are armed with swords, and have shields + plate armor. We're not sure why they like to screech about wanting to retake Jerusalem, but to each their own. I'm here to command our mercs, not wonder why our screeches screech.

Alpha Medics: Our support units, they're tasked with keeping their fellow mercs alive, and fighting hostiles when they don't have any fellow mercs to heal. They're generally given access to the same weapons as regular alpha mercs, but are also given medical supplies. Their armor also has red accents to mark them as part of the Alpha squad.

Veterans: The main forces of the Delta squad, they're equipped with the more expensive and powerful weaponry, and are more specialized. They usually wield heavier weaponry, and are given elite training, and cost 3x as much as a normal merc to recruit because of the more vigorous training they need. Their armor has purple accents to indicate they're part of the Delta squad.

Heroes:
Field Commander 'Deusus Maximus': Our main leader for field operations, he manages the officers on the field, who in turn manage the normal mercs in battle. He's equipped with one of our Knight Commander armor sets made before the crash which lead to our advanced manufacturing systems to be destroyed, and wields a high quality broadsword also made before the crash, which sends hostiles flying the fuck away like they were hit with a giant truck, and also causes lightning to flash out.

Toxic Undead Flora & Fauna: We've gotten these from trading with Horrorvale, these plants and animals are not only undead, but poisonous. We've developed protocols and manuals for maximizing poison extraction and reliably keeping a sustainable source of them respectively. Plans to weaponise it are being considered if we have to break the Geneva convention.

Domestic:
Gunpowder: It's a powder that explodes when ignited, used primarily for launching bullets at anything in front of one of our gun users. It's that simple. We found a huge cache of undetonated gunpowder where our ammunition manufacturing systems are, so we at least should have more than enough. (Mass Produced)

Muskets: Since we're pretty desperate, we've resorted to manufacturing these with what's still functional out of the manufacturing part of the ship. They're simple: you insert powder into the back of the barrel, then a bullet, then you cock the gun, and finally, you pull the trigger to hopefully kill whatever you're shooting at. (Mass Produced)

Scopes: They're scopes. You look through them, and you can more precisely see stuff from longer distances. We're gonna mass produce them for our soldiers that need the extra accuracy/zoom. (mass produced)

Modern Firearms: Assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, machine guns, SMGs, pistols, pretty much a huge bulk of our arsenal back when we were in space and not a group of crash landed mercs on some unknown planet. We now have them mass produced because fuck balance.

Grenades: Simple devices, you pull the pin, toss them at anything you need exploded, and hope you didn't accidentally forget about anything you don't want destroyed being within the general area of the grenade. There's also smoke grenades and flashbangs, releasing clouds of obscuring smoke and blinding anyone who looks at them respectively. Considering our past research, we could make poison gas grenades, but to do that, we'll have to find out how to put toxic gas into our smoke grenades.

Projects:
Form an elite squad: By starting to give specific high potential soldiers even more training, we have reformed Delta Squad, which is the elite branch of our forces. They're small in number, but their training makes them lethal on the field.

Create self-contained firearm cartridges: We're had to remake the ammunition schematics for our actual military grade ammo due to us loosing the methods of making them during the crash. Either way, we can be assured reloading in the field will be way faster now.

Create magnifying lenses: We've decided some of our men could use scopes, so we've started making them.

Start repairing the firearm manufacturing systems: Now that we've gotten all the stuff we'll need for modern firearm operation and manufacturing, like actually decent ammo, we've decided we have sufficient ability to finally repair our firearm manufacturing machinery. We just have to make a few adjustments, and soon we'll soon have the ability to dominate in ranged combat. Assault rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, pistols, and all that other good stuff.

Figure out the perfect conditions for mass harvesting toxins from our new shipment of poisonous flora and fauna: Self explanatory, we've been finding out both 1: How to maximise harvests from each invividual plant/animal, and 2: How to reliably and self sustainably keep getting enough flora/fauna to harvest toxins from.

Mercdonalds Origin:

Humans went into space, and fast food groups ended up being the primary food suppliers. They soon found that it's really hard to keep their supply lines safe from pirates and such.
The higher ups went "Hey this whole franchise thing worked well with food, why not try it with mercs?", and it went over well and ended up as the primary focus of the company. MercDonalds was born from this.

Interested parties just need to meet some minimum requirements and follow certain rules to join up.
Something along the lines of: Do you have a ship?, Crew?, Willing to take jobs and not shoot at our stuff?, If so, then good, Welcome to MercDonalds. The supply and job departments will contact you shortly.

Screeches:

An alien race that found their way onto a ship and made themselves useful enough to be kept around. They are friendly to familiar human crew, if a bit obnoxious at times, and will fiercely (even suicidally) defend the ship against hostile incursions.

Screeches are one of the most versatile tools available to Man - under a seemingly innocent roundy baldy headed yellow ball lies a being of many faces and infinite power. They say the Big Bang was followed by a sound of screeching, too. Screeches have many specialties - some drop straight into the colony, chasing around any poor xeno they set their sights on, some stand vigilant onboard the ship, ready to harmbaton and call out any potential hostile's location on general channel, some are weak, wielding only pistols, and some don a red bandana and carry a machinegun that wipes weaker xenos in a single burst. And some, when under pressure of seemingly impossible odds, are said to tap into the primordial REE that resides within them, going into a murderous, albeit short-lived rage, it's short span not nearly short enough for any sighted foes to survive the screeching fury...

CAPTAIN'S LOG, Day 12:
Our forces are already heading towards the crashsite. We've gotten scans of Llychlyn and Honkoku forces moving towards the crashsite, but we have the power of fully automatic guns (+ pump action shotguns, sniper rifles, semi auto pistols, revolvers, and other non-automatic guns that are still extremely advanced relative to the rest of the civilizations here) - another reason why we're a deadly force in the field.

We haven't yet recieved reports on progress regarding securing the meteor, as we haven't yet gotten a relay of the information, meaning we should just keep holding the crash site until we can recover the meteor.

Also, apparently we've somehow had recruiters that kept recruiting lots of melee units. I've told him to stop it as we have automatic firearms now. We don't need that many swordfighters.

Troops:
Yari Ashigaru (cost 1): Pikemen clad in basic armor. Because any army requires cannon fodder to send in and occupy a place. They are well drilled, so they excel in area denial with tight formations of pike walls. Though flanking makes them have to draw swords, and they are vulnerable to arrows. So by themselves they can be outmaneuvered or wittled down.
Basic Sword Training (1 PP): Given training with a smaller weapon, they will not immediately shatter when flanked.

Magi Samurai (cost 5): The noble remnants of the previous regime. The Samurai have adopted the magical crystals of their new overlords, and use it to augment their bushido. The Samurai are excellent melee combatants, and wreathing their swords in moonlight power, they can project sword slashes. This makes them ferocious in a melee, as they can not only cut through steel, but also outreach most spears. Though these special moves drain their crystals faster.

Magi Miko (cost 2): Armed with bows and firing magical arrows. The Miko are apprentice magical girls. Firing magical arrows is a good way to train the channeling of magical power, while keeping their gear relatively light. They have a katana, but no armor and little training. They will do poorly if they're engaged in melee.
Basic Akatsuki no Megane Training (1 PP): Equipped and trained in the use of the Akatsuki no Megane models. This enhances their sight range due to the magnified lens, and lets them detect anomalous energies.

Magi Shoujo (cost 10): Clad in the Tsuki no Yoroi, these magical girls are the real deal. They'd look lightly equipped out of combat, with a glaive and a handful pieces of armor. But with a song and a dance, their armor will deploy, making them only second to the samurai in armor. Transformed, their projectiles become even deadlier, not to mention whoever is unfortunate enough to be hit by their glaives. They can also fly, though doing so drains their magical reserves faster than any other. It is important for  the magicla girls to know when to and when not to utilize their aerial capabilities.

Magi Kunoichi (cost 4, 2 PP): Adorned with the Akatsuki no Megane, and wielding a magical naginata. These women operate as battle ninjas. Sneaking around enemy lines to  hit vulnerable areas. But if they are caught out in the open, they will not fare well, on account of no armor or extra mobility. High risk, but they can reap a bloody harvest if they ever get to someone's archers or other support units.

Heroes:
Magi Shogun Akatsuki Rin Saito: The great and honorable leader of the Akatsuki Sente. Akatsuki is a pragmatic girl, willing to kill, cheat and steal to get her way. Her husband, the emperor, is naught but a pawn to her, with no real power. Though not the magical girl she used to be, even having lost her left eye. She is a peerless tactician, intimately aware of the capabilities and limitations of the magical equipment. And ultimately, the people have prospered under her rule.

Magi Samurai Akio Kato (1 PP): A veteran from the civil war. He's faced Akatsuki numerous times. But never able to actually hurt her, thanks to her magical armor. But now that he has Tsukiwara no Dachi, he is a force to be reckoned with. Had he wielded it back in the civil war. Then he would've likely destroyed Akatsuki's magical girls, no problem. But he is no honorbound to Akatsuki's service. For he is an honorable samurai, and thus, trustworthy. Even as a former foe.

Domestic:
Tsuki no Kessho Model 2.0: Magical crystal used to store and channel the power of the moon. This newest model retains the output power of the original while having a much larger storage capacity. This means magical girls no longer have to ration their energy expenditure based on the phases of the moon.

Tsuki no Yoroi Model 1.4: The most modern magical armor. It increases the focus of the wearer, while also providing excellent protection. However, it's power consumption is still high. A Magical Girl might just run out in the midst of flight, if they're careless. So most of the time in an inactive state. Only activated once battle starts. It also has a cooling problem, only rarely seen. Like if someone covers them in goo that hinders heat dissipation, making parts deactivate.

Akatsuki no Megane Model 1.0 (3 PP): Employing glass and crystal, these glasses not only let you freely zoom in on things, but also lets them detect anomalous energies. It's not certain if it can detect yokai, though.

Tsukiwara no Dachi (Unique, 4 PP): A mighty sword infused with moon crystal. No finer conduit for moon power exists. It's an absolute monster at close range, able to cleave many a man in twain in a single slash.

Tengu no Yoroi Model 1.2 (Limited Production, 3 PP): A much reduced magical armor compared to the Tsuki no Yoroi. But is lighter, less conspicuous, and more manageable for rookies. It looks like regular clothing, but once activated, it becomes an elaborate dress. It's magical weave gives protection, additional focus, and even limited flight. However, it's activation is still flashy. So once activated, stealth ends.

Projects:

Develop Tsukihagane (4/9 PP):PAUSED During the forging of the Tsukiwara no Dachi, we found that we had by chance created a special metal, with excellent magical properties. The amounts were minute, but with enough development, we may be able to consistently create it. This will mark a new age for the Akatsuki Sente.

Prepare Response Team (1/x PP): The meteor might have more travelers, or some thing else. We must secure it's perimeter. The response team will be light, but elite.

Recruit Magi Huntress Myfanwy "Myf" Hier (2/3 PP): Given extensive training in the field of magic. Myf will become a mighty Magi Huntress. Protected with the Tengu no Yoroi, given vision with the Akatsuki no Megane, and using our tried and tested spell bow. She'll rival Fanw herself (not really).

Yari Ashigaru basic sword training (1 PP). When flanked, their pikes are useless. Some basic sword training will make them last a little while, until they can be rescued.
Develop Akatsuki no Megane Model 1.0 (3 PP): Treating glass with moon crystal, we can etch magical diagrams onto it, while allowing vision through them. By constructing the right diagrams, we should be able to greatly amplify the vision of our operatives. May help our archers as well. But mainly, it will let us hunt down yokai with even greater efficiency.
Forge Tsukiwara no Dachi (4 PP). The Samurai Akio Kato demands a sword worthy of his service before we can recruit him. This great sword will be infused with moon crystal, to make whoever wields it a Magi Samurai beyond compare.
Recruit Magi Samurai Akio Kato (1 PP): Now a sword is all fine and well, but he needs a little bit more convincing. So we've arranged a hunting trip. Called off the hunters for the day, so he can take the sword for a test run.
Mass produce Akatsuki no Megane (2 PP): For fielding them en masse, our current output just isn't enough. We need more. One in every hunter's repertoire. Maybe we can even start fielding hunters as troops.
Train Magi Kunoichi (2 PP): With the mass production of the glasses halfway done, we can start the first steps in training them in large enough numbers to become part of our army. They are intermediate level Magical Girls. Learning stealth and ambush strategies.
Train Magi Miko in the use of Akatsuki no Megane (1 PP): These new glasses not only provide zoom, but can even spot energy. The Magi Miko are terrible in melee, and you never know what trickery the enemy may be up to.
Develop Tengu no Yoroi Model 1.2 (3 PP): A lighter version of the magical armor. It resembles standard clothing, and only changes into more fancy clothes when activated. It doesn't provide the same focus, and especially not the same protection. But don't underestimate the strength of magically infused cloth. A big feature is the limited floating ability. Which will not only render all falls safe. But also allow them to glide away from danger.

[Akatsuki Conclave's Report]

With our great shogun off to war, it is now our task to rule in her stead.
Our shogun is wise and honorable, and foresaw the need of us. Our training of the young Myfanwy is going well, she learns a great many things in the field of magic.
But we are concerned about her leaps and strides of progress. We are not to question the shogun's orders. But she has already passed our shogun's raw power.
Fortunately, she is not as experienced, and our great shogun has many an ally to call upon, should she get rebellious.
It is unfortunate we cannot restart the Tsukihagane project. Sustaining our level of alertness is draining on us. We simply must know how our great and honorable shogun fares.

You know considering there's a fight likely to happen I feel now's a flawless time to oocly remind someone they forgot to equip all their guys with new guns despite mass producing them. Because you need to spend a small 2 point project to do that.

I hope whatever battle strategy you made doesn't rely on having modern weapons.
