Merchants won't leave

I have 3 entrances to my fort, one for the fort, one for the depot, and a trap corridor. When the caravan came through, I set the depot bridge to open and close on repeat because I was bored. A couple wagons made it through, another 2 were atomsmashed, and a couple others waited behind. When I got the text the merchants were leaving, nothing happened. A month passes by and nada, still there. I stopped the atomsmasher and they still didn't leave. So I have a couple merchants in the depot and a few wagons outside now that won't leave

deconstructing the depot usually sends them on their way
