AMF is a nice choice, even if it doesn't do much in prebattle turns unless we include troop transport with our planes.
EPC is an excellent option.
MRN is not exactly a revision.
Uniform is similar to AMF, but it might help with maneuvering around our homeland.

Well, yeah. But we don't have much to revise, and can make something new. With MIP, we should be able to do it, the MRN.

Turn 1 Revision Phase Results
Electrical Power Cells for the New Age,
S-Model Pulse Pistol Revision
Well, the work on the S-Model Pistol went well. And with MIP up and running, we have the ability to process modern materials. So, this is mostly about standardizing the quality of the Battery Cartridges to be more modern. No leaking when plugged in would be nice, but we mostly want to focus on how much power they can hold. From there, we'll work on using that additional power to up the Solitary Wave strength to be able to hold more power, allowing the shots to travel in a straighter line, more in line with more modern guns. Likewise, we'll need to train those using it by making them hunt with it. The Pulse Pistol fires without recoil, after all.

All this work should get us a very accurate gun, and the additional power behind the shot should make the shot itself fast as energy weapons should be. Doesn't change the fact it knocks people out, but all this is a prelude toward more deadly energy weapons. The work with batteries should also help in powering them, ideas behind powerful battery cells for vehicles is one such idea. For now, the battery cartridges should see their shot number remain the same, and maybe we can solve the leakage issues with a button on the side to prime the weapon with a simple press. Wehn depressed, the gun is safe, and when pressed, it will pop out, meaning the weapon is primed.
Easy (5+7)+1 = 13 (Above Average)

The new batteries are great. At emergency minimal power the gun could now fire a couple hundred shots before running out of power, and now with a color indicator that got left out when the first round of batteries was released to indicate when they run low. Power can easily be ramped up to reduce the number of shots, but increase the projectile speed, and power isn't lost (as fast) when plugged in. Some energy vampirism still takes place, but it's not as noticeable now. It could be left in for two full days before noticing that the power dropped; there is also a safety right on the battery, to unseat it without removing it from the weapon so that power isn't slowly drained.

At full power, which is the recommended power usage for maximum accuracy, the number of shots is about what we had before - 40, give or take. At high power levels, the projectiles have very little deviation from their fired path, being practically unaffected by gravity and traveling much faster. This allows the weapon to become mostly accurate at medium range, improved over barely accurate.

Mass Radio Net

Everyone remembers the days of wireless. And with the MIP running smoothly, we can now build radio towers to aid in wireless communications. Nothing more really needs to be said, with radio and network stations, we can see our people become connected with each other once more. As well as lay down network cables where needed in our own city. In the outskirts, simply building radio towers is all we'll need. Just need to make sure to pay attention to snowstorms and build them close enough to each other to work. These communications will make movement and command far smoother.

Sadly, we do not yet have the infrastructure to set them up outside our capital. But once we do have the transport vehicles needed, we'll be ready to do so over the course of a season.
Difficult (1+9)-1 = 9 (Below Average)

Communications are operational now, with our citizens settling in comfortably listening to jazz or rock or country radio, or to the news, which can double as a propaganda machine, or to whichever station they like. Military frequencies are designated, and maintenance teams trained to clean snow off of the towers every so often. The range isn't great, and they take time to erect, which means once we start building them outside Yūi we need to dedicate a not insignificant portion of our manpower to putting them up, but all in all they work as expected. Maybe we had to build a few more of them then we expected to get the coverage we wanted, so what? They work.

Alien Research Circles;                            ARC-CRAFT
The Cybernetics Research Association Facility of Testing

With time and human ingenuity, we've made a home for ourselves. More than that, we've begun to decipher some of how the alien tech works. So much so that a dedicated government structure is being built to research alien tech and methods.

The ARC is the designation for all research groups that work with and on alien tech, translating it to something we can understand and build off of. The Soliton Method used in the Pulse Pistols is one such advancement. However, that is just one advancement, and will undoubtedly see it's own group formed in time. No, this first step is meant to understand biology more in-depth, and use this knowledge to grow as a people. As humans, we've been doing it for years, cross-breeding plants and domesticating animals. It can be said that we do have quite an understanding. Though one issue is that's all back on Earth, so we've had to pool our knowledge. But we do have enough to better understand ourselves and other things.

From there, with electricity back up and MIP ready, we can study some of the alien tech for how it works, and replicate it. This is what the ARC Programs are meant to do, to take from the alien tech the understanding needed to replicate it in our own.

To this manner, we've begun the first ARC Program, the Cybernetics Research Association Facility of Testing. ARC-CRAFT is dedicated towards studying the nervous system and interfacing of such to the mechanical, electrical, and synthetic. Whether it be giving someone an arm or leg back, or replacing lost organs. Likewise, it is meant to give humans the ability to interact with the Networks around them. By studying this, we hope to learn ways to create artificial networks of flesh and bone, copper and synthetic flesh. As well as study it's intricacies, and perhaps go even further.

We'll mostly be using animals for testing, including the local wildlife. The S-Model Pistol will prove useful for acquiring test subjects unharmed. Once we've figured out how to connect machines with the nervous system however, we'll move on to limited testing, inserting a connection port to the volunteer's spine, and using a connected helmet to stop and read signals from the brain through this port, while keeping the patient's body working. It's a first step of course, but a big one. It may allow us to create a virtual environment later on as well, allowing the subject to interact with a virtual world. From there, Augmented Reality interfaces aren't far off, and mechanical replacement limbs should be simple.

[Uses a Research Credit & Alien Credit]

Also need a vehicle.

edit-been a while, and no other proposals. Or activity. Ok I guess.

Special Terrain Armored- Revolution Class; Transverse

Know by designers as the STA-Revolution Class Vehicle, Transverse. This is our first major foray into engineering, the first vehicle of the new world. It's engine is a hybrid, making use of both gasoline from local refinement foundries, and a Mass Electric Cell. This not only gives the vehicle great torque, but also lets it run for a day of travel. This is mostly the result of having MIP to build the refinement foundries, and the Cell, which is about the size of a suitcase. That comes from our own recent successes with electrical storage.

Of course, the next bit is also important. The STAR-Transverse. It's wheels are pretty big, and make up half of the vehicle height. Special tread shapes are on the wheels to travel over snow, sand, and earth. Meanwhile, the rest of the vehicle has the engine in the front, and enough room for 4 people. It can reach up to 90 Miles per hour.

Of course, that's the max speed. Most times, it will be closer to an average of 80 mp/h. It also has the option to attach a long truck bed. Though when loaded, it slows to 40-50 mp/h. This is where that engine comes in handy, since the electrical power can assist the gas power. This mode does reduce the ability for the vehicle to run for days to merely 10-12 hours before it needs refilling/recharging. The 24 hour run-time it can perform is due to low-key assistance from the Mass Electric Cell and a 60 mp/h run speed.

Like with most of our gear, the Mass Electric Cell can be replaced once you open the hood, as well as recharged with cables. The STAR-Transverse doesn't actually have a trunk, so mostly it will carry the truck bed with supplies on it's runs. Refueling also requires removing the hood..

This leads to the final point, the armor. It's makes use of steel. Powerful, if heavy, this metal can protect us from the enemy. Beyond that, it's also been treated to resit corrosion. See RFC notes for MIP production It's used for a light armor layer, and doors.

Perhaps the last part is the aforementioned wheels. They use a certain pattern on the tires, which is made of Neoprene rubber. Honestly, if we didn't have MIP, producing the parts for the Transverse would be difficult. The core of the wheels are solid, and the drive shaft and suspension keep the vehicle somewhat off the top of the ground. These wheels are good for supporting it, and allowing it to make good speed and traction across a variety of terrain types.(Snow, sand, and earth mostly)

Spoiler: treads/wheel (click to show/hide)

The overall result is a solid military vehicle that can serve as TC transport, and general troop transport. We don't really have time for anything better than a simple long truck bed to be attachable for towing though. It's a good step forward however. Still, it should be good until we analyse the alien metals more in-depth.

[Uses a Research Credit & Alien Credit]
Very Difficult (4+4+5)-2 = 7 (Poor Performance)
ARC-CRAFT was a very ambitious project. It flew through the approval process, and testing started immediately; but perhaps it was put together too hastily, and not enough oversight was performed. While test subjects, mostly small animals but also a few big ones, were easy to acquire, trying to integrate technology into them proved difficult. Pretty random parts of alien machinery were taken apart, blended haphazardly with human wireless communication technology, and shoved onto shaved lifeform surfaces until they stick. Eventually something worked, and we think it was once part of a tool to map nerves to neural responses; getting it to stay attached instead of just probing the surface involved some tinkering, but eventually we found a way to create ports which a stub of a removed limb can be shoved into, and a few helmet-like designs that fit on our test subjects differently shaped heads.

What resulted isn't what we hoped for, or expected, but something along the lines of what we deserved. A functional translator device, a universal port for artificial limbs, and the revelation that maybe some of the dumb furry animals out in the raging snowstorm aren't so dumb after all. There's a big one, in particular, we took to calling the "Blossom Yeti", with eight huge ape-like limbs, arranged around a frightening spider-like body. Well, six limbs now, with the two we cut off replaced by cybernetics. Once the alien tech we had stuck into it started interpreting our language to it, it realized that we were experimenting on it and went berserk. We had it contained, but it somehow broke loose and is still out there in the snow somewhere. Our networking technology indicates it's still alive, and is actually feeding us useful visual data from it's eye-analogue, but the strange creature is so far evading our attempts to recapture it. Probably because it's getting information from the same network we're using to track it.

We thought we were going to withhold on human testing for the time being - we do have a prototype ready, fitted to a human's proportions, but were ready to shelve it when someone tried it on. When they're ready to start speaking our language again, we'll do some more tests. Until then, we have someone fluent in computer binary and Blossom Yeti, but unable to communicate with a fellow human being. They are far more cooperative than the yeti; we've learned that they can indeed communicate over a simple WiFi or Bluetooth channel to control some devices, which is a step in the right direction. But they are also unwilling or unable to remove the helmet; we're not willing to risk it.

Normal (9+8)+0 = 17 (Masterpiece)
The Transverse is a marvel to look at. Slick angles and smooth curves, heavy wheels capable of getting grip on any terrain, and a dangerously high top speed that Earth Highways would have banned, but which just works for the open undeveloped spaces so well. It's optional truck bed fits lots of cargo, or troops, and the cab fits four kitted out soldiers comfortably.

It's armor strikes a fantastic balance between dense and light, flexible and strong; it could deform enough not to shatter when struck, but repel up to anti-tank weaponry - though it would have a tough time negotiating that. It has been treated to resist corrosion, avoiding issues with any sort of salt or most acids that could get onto the surface.

Even in the worst of situations, it's engine is low-maintenance, easily recharged or refilled, with the hood actually opening up by sliding in two parts outwards horizontally to give access first to the battery and gas cap, then as it opens wider, to the whole rest of the engine. Simple, durable, swapable parts mean even a ground crew with little experience could make repairs quickly, and each part of the engine is easy to access.

All in all, this vehicle could compete with anything made on Earth, and have a good chance of winning. It provides an easy 1 TC, but costs 5 Ore and 2 Oil (mostly for the tires, not the fuel). It is Very Expensive, and when it drops to Expensive or to Cheap it will provide one more TC each time.

Heatgun
Part one: Heat generation
A nuclear fission chamber composed of highly radioactive components will emit gamma rays and other radiation.

Part two:Heat projection
The gamma rays will be focused by the means of a parabolic reflector of some sort, and the energy should be sufficient for lethal damage.

The ray would be invisible to the human eye (although any spectrometer would see anomalies) , and can result in devastating and demoralizing damage.

First off, why? Second, when? Third, we already have the basis for lethal without nuclear.

M-Model: Soliton Splash Pistol

With the S-Model done, we can create a different version for combat. The M-Model stands for maim. Like before, we tune the frequency, as well as increase the density. This will likely reduce the number of shots this model can fire off a battery pack to twenty, short of finding out the frequency doesn't have such a power requirement.

The scrap pistol we made looked like plasma, mostly due to a strange field and chaotic energy. This is why it often killed no matter the setting. What is important is replicating that. The chaotic energy can be made less chaotic, and be released in a solitary wave cage. This will contain the energy while allowing it to flow, with a secondary Soliton container keeping it from leaving the shot itself, like a membrane. On hit, the cage will break down, releasing the energy into the target, and disintegrating it. The arcs will reach out from the impact point, and by nature, move forward into the flesh, tearing apart the target and rendering the limbs, nerves, and/or organs useless and broken. This even has an effect on most armor, though the splash radius is merely a half-meter from the impact at max. Most of the energy will go into what it hits.

The end result should result in a gun that can kill, looking like the ball of plasma energy in it's form. We already have most of the base from our S-Model Pistol and it's batteries, so we need to use the barrel for it as usual. Do this, and we can move onto Cannons which are far more devastating.

The S-Model Soliton Pulse Pistol is blue/white in coloring, while the M-Model Soliton Splash Pistol is Blue/Green. These colors mostly are on the barrel to show what type it is.

Final Notes. Due to it's design, the barrel also has small lines on the sides to help with forming the cage. One shot won't always kill the target unless it's in a vital spot, unlike the Stun Pistol which only needs one hit to down the target. All soldiers should at the moment carry both, as the batteries used are the same. The M-Model can kill an enemy in a single headshot, so they make good execution style weapons. Just don't be in the splash range.

MRN-Solitary Wave Form. + Set-up

The Mass radio Network is mostly ready to be brought to existance. Still, we want to take some recent work with Solitons and apply them to radio.

Effectively, when two Solitary waves cross, they flow past each other, unchanged. When passing through materials, they can experience a Phase Change however. Though that's mostly semantics on how multiple signals will not interfere with each other.

Radio Messages are made up of the Carrier Signal, and the Envelopment Soliton. By using our experience learning of the alien tech, we can make it so the radio towers can make use of this, solving the number needed to cover an area. This will also allow us to send signals to the front lines in areas we haven't had time to prepare. This way, we'll always have radio communications.

That isn't all though. We're just about ready to set them up in the controlled regions. For this, we've set our factories to producing prefab metal sheets, which have blunt teeth that can slide over other pieces and be welded together with a torch, treated to resist corrosion, obviously. Likewise, we've got concrete prepared, and shovels and drills. People will be tasked to digging out an area deep enough to hold these metal sheets. They'll be welded into each other, placed in, and filled with concrete mix. Once we have these walls, we can bring in the wood for walls, and fill it with Mineral Wool,(made with the needed safety precautions). From there, we build a building using this simple technique. These buildings will serve as outposts for our Radio Towers, allowing crew to keep them clean of snow, and acting as a base for mini-town areas for military. All of this is something MIP can handle fairly easily.

With this, we'll be able to set up everything over the course of the next two to three (turns). With full radio coverage, we'll be able to navigate, along with all the other benefits that come from easy communication.

Strategy Phase Notes,

Yes, we do have a strategy phase GM Flabort.

Tell me what benefit are we getting from improving a stun rifle?, why do we need to stun targets, why does it require a headshot for lethality when normal bullets and explosive shrapnel can still kill without just targeting the head? The Mass Radio Net is okay... but we had a poor result on the cybernetic program, why aren’t we focusing on that?, like next turn we should upgrade our transport vehicle to be a actual combat vehicle and make a cybernetic design

Revision: Improved Translator Cranial Technology: The miscommunication errors that result from trying to attach cybernetic wiring and neural modification to the “Blossom Yeti” megafauna is just due not the correct enough calibration and misaligning the correct neutral electric waves to process. Therefore we improve the wiring and biomechanics of the sockets we attach to megafauna we attach them, allowing for a virtual feedback loop and through more bioengineering the Blossom Yetis neural muscles and cranial activity to our alien sockets, this allows us to through an operator there remote control helmet to directly manipulate the Blossom Yeti motor control and thinking control, therefore making it more passive and more like a drone to be controlled.

The motor control is improved through wireless muscular-asserting Bluetooth gauntlets that provide a electric radar loop to the megafauna, therefore we can directly manipulate the two forward facing arms of the creature and the other extra appendages are either automated through the neural controlling sockets or through connecting to our own mind, can slightly manipulate in which the case the extra appendages can do. Therefore we have created a virtual “reality” and more improved combat manipulation of megafauna and in this example the Blossom Yetis.

It's actually from the whole maim thing. It's meant to give us a step to creating a larger weapon with a good blast radius that will melt-fry what it hits, and spread across the surrounding area, also melt-frying it. The M-Model doesn't need a headshot to be lethal though, any strike to the central body is likely to damage the organs severely. It's just it may also cauterize it to prevent bleed out in some cases.

Quote

It can kill, and any hits to limbs will knock that limb out of commission.

On other notes, we need lore for the submission. Also, the Blossom Yeti is noted to be sentient, given it has it's own language. We could actually get it to help us..

A History of the Social Democracy of the Red Blossom, Year 0, Spring.

Quote
Ah Soviet Russia, we will eradicate the unneeded filth which infests this place. This I---

excerpt from a bloodied journal, name unknown

Quote
For whatever reason, multiple communities were abducted and placed here. While the only link are the appearance of strange aliens. Tensions are high, and I fear there may be fighting soon. At the moment, I'm trying to resolve the issues and get gathering parties set up to collect food, but we only have our old homes to rest in, and not all of those are whole from the journey.

excerpt from the journal Of Kuroshi Yamanaka

Not even 30 days, and violence erupts in the colony. Ethical values, and pride, led to a temporary dictatorship between a large number of Russians and Germans. They were far stockier than most of us, and managed to put together makeshift guns from old parts they had. It was a trying time, where they held total dominion over food gathered and the best residences. They may have only made up 25 percent of our population, but that was enough to take over, and many were lost in that transition.

Not only that, but we had steadily been losing groups to the snowy land outside, which only increased with their orders to scout the area. Of course, over time, they also lost some people, but that just led to worse travesties.

Year 0, Summer

The Summer began, though we didn't quite have a proper calendar at the time. What flowers grew were in bloom, and while our food stockpiles should have increased, the Dictators ate most of it. Of course, this is also when a native life form came along, the Scaled Whale. Made up of numerous white scales and fur, they were fat, and traveled on four legs. It was swiftly killed and a feast held on their orders, but it didn't particularly help us in a few days. Strange creatures attacked in the night. There was numerous blood spilled, mostly of us. The dictator tried to get us to fight, but most of the dictator's group broke and ran, and were never seen from again. He died shortly after when his gun broke down.

At the next dawn after they left, we were done to about 60% of the number we started with, and no bodies to show for it. However, we rallied together and searched the old dictator's belongings and houses, finding numerous stockpiles of weapon parts, and strange tech. Apparently they used it to put the makeshift guns together before hiding it away.

With this, we created weapons, mostly hammers and swords and axes. Basic gear which could be put together quickly with the strange welder tech. From there, we made sure to bury food and try not to attack any of the wildlife. We turned to fruits mostly, and avoided the Scaled Whale, as despite it's teeth, it's armored hide was what protected it, for it was too large to get at us if we used cover.

With work we repaired our housing, and built walls. Despite everything, another attack came for us. But this time we were ready. Even as they climbed straight over the walls, guns, blade, hammer, sickle, axe. We worked together, using our numbers and tactics to kill them. And as Dawn came, we were victorious together, united.

Year 0, Fall-Winter

It was the latter parts, but we mostly decided then to treat it as nearing fall. The bodies were identified after the fighting. We called it the Giant Orb Spider, a spieces that was effectively an upsized version of an old earth type, or near it. It's legs were full of meat, but it needed to be washed, and was quite stringy. It's center body was made up of an incredibly thick shell, and it's head and eyes quite large. Likewise, it had a large amount of webbing and fluids inside it's posterior, spider silk. Not as strong as steel, but soft and pliable, almost like small lengths of strands. The webbing recovered from the walls however showed it's strength, which was more than capable of holding it's weight, and only sticky on parts of it, which had long since dried.

From this, we had the fluid, which could be made into glue if certain leaves were added to it, and cooked in a pot. Or simply the strange spider silk itself, though it was clear that they had developed a way of selectively and quickly mixing it as it left.

It was quite a boon though, around 30 of these spiders were killed, with many more legs scattered about. The stranger Spider Silk was called to be named Spider Wool for it's strange attributes, and used for warmth. While the Silk collected from the walls were used to make traps for smaller game, which up till now were fairly difficult to hunt.

Later on in the year, we had mostly resorted to old techniques know to us. We had quite a range of different techniques for storing food in pots, though we were running out of spider glue. We decided to search for ores to finish off though when another spider attack came later during the dusk. The numbers were far smaller, but it let us restock supplies.

Nearing the coldest months, we were mostly forced into staying near our home territory, but we did manage to make some crude maps. Some strange flowers also appeared to bloom during what became known as the latest part of the year. Other than that, we melted fat down to try and make lye, to finally be able to make leather.

Year 1~2

Quite a busy couple of years. During the early Spring into Summer of Year 1, we sent out parties to check the land, after making a compass among other things during Winter. The results were a bit surprising. Apparently to the south webs could be seen. They retreated immediately, but had to fight off one of those spiders. Likewise, we identified a more passive animal in the form of the Blossom Yeti, a giant eight armed Ape, with it's limbs arranged like a spider. Despite it's size, it didn't actually attack the group, and they may have managed to remain unseen. Was noted to be capable of standing on four of it's limbs.[See ARC-CRAFT result]

Many other species were identified. Some more peaceful than others. And we ended up losing two of our search parties to... Something.

In other news, during that year we managed to identify ore deposited, and start up a basic forge, along with clear cutting of the nearby trees.

Year 2 saw another 3 groups nearly get wiped out, even though we moved to a 6 man group with the best weapons we could make. Over the winter of Year 1, we even managed to scrap together an alien pistol, though it could only fire a single shot before breaking into slag. ... We'll work on it. This report came from the only two survivors of the group who managed to get away, separately.

Quote from: X-REX
A Lizard roughly 7 feet long, with a further 6 feet of tail. I's mouth opens up into an X cross at the snout, and the esphargos has serrated teeth traveling down it's length, with numerous fangs in the four opened cross sections of the mouth. The mouth itself is fairly mobile, capable of grasping most food.[arms ripped off, and weapons simply ripped from hands]
A muscular create, it's four legs further are somewhat flexible, capable of running quckly. The feet are also like the mouth, capable of griping objects in their grasp and sticking to tree trunks. Despite this, it showed a preference to fighting on the ground, liekyl to take full advantage of it's gripping capability.

Be advised, it has shown a great regeneration factor, capable of healing from wounds extremely quickly. It;s tail was also shown to be powerful, if not capable of grasping objects, and it often used this to trip opponent's and strike as it turned.

It's eyes are fairly small, located up on the skull facing forward, and it's neck accounted for about half a foot to a foot of length of it's main body. Showed no negative effects in the cold, but it's blood was quite hot, and blue. Had no toung, so likely makes use of it's teeth to shred food before swallowing mostly whole.

Alien Laser Weapon was effective in pushing it back for a time, and the wounds did not heal, as if cauterized. Suggest more pistols be made and standardized for safety.

All in all, a pretty dangerous predator. Beyond that and a few spider attacks, we've been developing and compiling knowledge as possible. The alien weapons don't seem to do much at the moment to them, their shell just cratering.

Year 4, Spring~Fall

Another year has passed. With it and the almost standard Winter Research, we've managed to replicated the alien tech. It only holds three shots, and is ridiculously hard to power given our current tech leIt does deal a lot of damage though, and testing on the now rare spider attack showed it is at least capable of leaving a hole in the shell, so it's better.

In other news, Paper, or a form of it at least. Along with Ink, and carpentry. We should be better able to keep records now, which is good.

Spring once more shows more sightings of those Blossom Yeti. They seem mostly solitary, though given our experiences with the X-REX last time, it is best not to press our luck. Likewise, another three of our Scouting parties encountered an X-REX again. This time, despite losing 3 people, they managed to damage it greatly before it sped off. It seems it has a certain hunting ground, but we need to locate the resources around us, so we'll need more people next time. Which is beginning to get difficult, despite the amount of experience our more military people now have.

Summer shows up uncharacteristically warm. This is a good thing, since food is easier to collect. Another thing was noted, a new type of flower. The few collected show them to be a Red Blossom glowing a brilliant Gold, not unlike the azure-glowing Blue Blossoms ones that show up in late winter for a few nights. They bloomed off and on for a few weeks before stopping.

Fall and Winter was mostly the same as previous years, collecting, building, and survival. Leather, glue, paper, and stone production is currently proceeding, though Winter will prevent stone mining..

Year 4, Winter

Well, where to start. First off was our introduction to something some of our Japanese are calling Slimes. They appeared in mass, ate almost every bit of greenery they could get their gel on, then left. We mostly tried to stay home that winter. Our only respite is that they all glowed, if a variety of colors, making them easy to see at night and avoid. Observations showed most animals also took that approach, disrupting our usual trapping. Thankfully we do have quite a bit of food stored, and they never climbed the walls.

This is a bit exaggerated, as they didn't eat everything. But we did record a list of types that were observed.

Quote from: Slime Log
Blue Slime: No Glow, but fairly slow and small. Japanese conclude these are child slime made somehow. Which doesn't make sense to them because others were shown to split.

Ice Slime: Giving a pale blue glow, these slime were noted to leave a trail of frost on whatever they touched that wasn't snow. Prevalent.

Fire Slime: Giving off embers and a red-orange glow. Wasn't noted to be as prevalent, with at most 5 spotted over the course of their time here. It's speculated that the environment isn't good for their survival, but they stuck around anyway, if usually in trees. No forest fires reported.

Wind Slime: Gives off a Green Glow, and floats around. Saw a few in the sky, and they ate a few trees' leaves and pines in our compound. Left afterward, but they could be seen floating everywhere.

It is speculated by our Japanese residents that there are more, but they aren't as obvious. There were reports of a brighter blue glow for example, but nothing specific was found.

We didn't really choose to fight them since they seemed passive, and their likely acid bodies, while potentially useful, wasn't really worth somehow turning their attentions to us. As a side note, the alien tech for the pistol got upgraded, just in case. [Were noted to likely be community based, and nomads.] Despite a significant dip in temperature that winter, the Azure-White Flowers didn't seem to be seen, likely cause they were eaten.

Year 5

Another Year. This time, we sent out a large expedition to the area the X-REX was noted to be in. After it attacked us, we successfully defeated it with massed fire and our new steel blades, along with some half decent armor. There were a few arms lost, but nothing super serious.

In other news, we have started building a proper city with the first confirmed pregnancies. This is notable for who remains in our group, and it seems to be a sign that we will survive this trial, even if we won't even see our old homes. Due to it being summer, we have named ourselves the Social democracy of the red Blossom, committed to helping each other fairly, with all having a voice to speak concerns to those who lead. Heh, those old middle countries would probably be surprised, given our chosen color and being similar to communism. Unlike them you are rewarded for good work, for all the issues we still have to face. We've been lucky not to get sick, though that might be something our abductors did, some in our society think.

This year brought to us the locations of mineral deposits, though that X-REX is still hiding somewhere. It really is tough to put down for good. Likewise, the Azure-Blue flowers returned. We'll need a name for those things, and the other flower of summer.

Year 6~7

Still spider attacks, though they have died off in recent years. They seemed to have learned attacking us equals death.

Not much has happened. We've finally expanded beyond our initial area, though we are still wary of going into the spider territory. Likewise, we're finally producing the basics of modern civilization, with our Makeshift Rifles finally getting a standardization so we can make them easily. They're still bad, but at least they don't require alien tech anymore to make, which mean we can focus on other things in year 7's winter.

Year 8

Rejoice, for we have viechles. Basic stuff, but we can now travel farther.

More of the same year to year stuff, but soon we can actually produce electricity. There is still some stuff that needs making, but we're getting there.

The X-REX made a reappearance in another area, but it appeared to be a different one. We have also learned those jaw's teeth are tough enough to rip apart iron and stone vehicles. We later sent someone to finish it, but like the other it slinked off somewhere. Some paranoid are begining to think it has some kind of camoflage ability, given this one was a different color to match it's surroundings. At least they seem loners, though who knows how they breed.

Moving into fall, we found strange bridges made of alien metals leading across a bottomless canyon. And another encounter with an X-REX upon trying to explore them. It ambushed us from beneath one of the bridges before darting off with someone screaming. On another note, it seems to math those bridges to an eerie degree. For now we;ve put off actually exploring, since those bridges do not help with our peoples usual strategies.

Year 9

This last Winter, Radio! And a crude Radio Scanner/Radar. Also this year, when we were setting up forward points in near some of the mountains, we got contact with another human group apparently?

This also happened once we managed a forward point on one of those supported islands, after fighting off the local giant bird... Speaking of, did you know there were Giant Birds in that area? They've been found to make their nests on some of the islands. After a bit of study, we've found the canyon isn't completely bottomless, and these birds are capable of hunting enough food to sustain themselves, likely in the nearby ocean waters that tumble down.

Into Fall, we've managed to set up in the bridge area. And fight off that Black X-REX, though we still lost another person. However, it seems the ones in the plains have also set up on the other side? We've tried to get info from them, but neither side is really communicating anything about their intentions. With the expanded area, we've found more alien tech, and made our way to the ocean that cuts off at the canyon edge.

... Why in the world is there a giant octopus in the shallows?

Year 10

By the Akai yūhi... Well, Winter has at least seen us make a makeshift pistol that can stun others. However, things on not going well on the diplomatic front. Or the mountain front either with the giant snakes, the small snakes, the flying dragon snakes. Oh, and Slimes, earth this time. The last aren't as dangerous with the pistol's stun function, but killing them is very difficult with a gun, and maim mode doesn't work on them. And they tend to degrade our melee weapons. We've also had to deal with fire slime getting into our gas supplies and blowing up. Multiple times, since it seems it can do that if it gets some oil. Aoi yoake, I hope we never see a gas-type fire slime.(Aoi yoake being the Blue Blossoms blooming in Winter. Akai yūhi are the Red Blossoms.)

Hah.. We've at least secured a tenuous position in the mountains, but we need better vehicles. At the least, we'll moving into the industrial age, finally able to locate and extract oil, and the ore we've been collecting. Not to mention the Spiders being quiet. And that Black Tower that has appeared in the horizon, along with the alien drones spotted over the ocean.

Current Log of Head of Archives

Apparently the Blossom Yeti are intelligent & Sentient. That kinda says something about the others we've seen these ten years. There is talk of forcing them to work as drones, but I don't really believe that is the best choice going forward. We need manpower badly, and another war with the Blossom Yeti, if they have enough of a societal structure to communicate, would be dangerous with tensions so high. I hope this collection of notes is read and paid attention to, as some seem to have forgotten the original problem the first time.

Alien Diplomacy Initiative

ADI is it's name, the Alien Diplomacy Initiative. And the name of the Binary Communication System is the BCS, capable of translating speech to binary.

For now, we've got a simple prototype capable of translating our speech typed in, into text, a computer of the most basic functions.

It's not really important though, as what ADI is meant to do. Bring Humans and other Alien Sentient and Intelligent Life to our side. As humans, the difference between predator and prey is a fine line, as we as a people know and live with. And yet, the Blossom Yeti has never attacked us. They are powerful creatures, befitting a race able to survive the various dangers this place holds. So, why not ask them?

The question we pose, and an appology. We simply wish for amends. For that reason, we shall tell them of the people away from the Tundra, who would simply discard any though of them as dumb beasts. A peace treaty, working together, and living together.

With this message, the main purpose is the ability to create a thought to speech translator, or failing that, a universal speech translator. The goal is to create something that will allow thoughts to be translated into a form of speech capable of being understood by the other. For now, with this Blossom Yeti, that is binary. We can only hope that the Human we have who understands their speech, and that the Blossom Yeti we tested on is willing to be an ambassador. They likely have numerous knowledge of the terrain, and if they are willing to join with us, would eventually make fierce combatants, should we be able to maintain good relations with them.

Needless to say, it is also possible that other creatures also are sentient and intelligent, and enslaving them is no different than the dictators that enslaved us simply because they viewed us as lesser beings. Beyond which, it is also likely they were dropped here themselves by the same aliens who abducted us.

Arms of the Decade

Gear/Vehicle

Alien Flash Welder: A cobbled together piece of tech that can weld and melt metals, as well as burn wood and start fires. While it's pretty good at precision, it suffers in all other respects, and is far outperformed by any industrial era welder, and nearly obsolete in making weapons in comparison to a forge. It's only advantage is it doesn't need a battery, but that's a sign of it working only off of the fact it's welding and melting is the result of it being a shortcircuiting piece of scrap that has a habit of burning the user if used the wrong way. [Completely Obsolete]{Made by the original Dictator to put together guns.}

Melted Gun: So named for it being carved and forged using the flash welder and spare gun parts, by someone who knew what he was doing, but turned his mind toward oppressing the common people because of race. Say what you want about him, but he made a decent weapon. It has 6 rounds, and is a half-barrel. Uses a strange alien piece of tech as the firing mechanism for a slag of melted metal, and a firing pin to trigger it. It is at least capable of killing someone right in front of you. Not so for anything farther away. Close-Short Range. [Completely Obsolete]{Probably the only blueprint for a gun that could be made, it served well in the earlier years, but never really outpaced the simplicity of a melee weapon.}

General Arms: Be it a Sword, an Axe, or a Spear, the Alien Flash Welder could put metals together. Over the years, they were upgraded, but a bow was never invented. Maces and Hammers however were often a favorite for their ability to crush Giant Orb Spider shells with ease, and reach, along with ease of crafting. Likewise, forges were eventually put together, which upped the quality of those weapons. Close Range[Not Obsolete]{General Melee Weapons of iron and recently steel, their quality went up over time. Every member of Red Blossom is Novice-Apprentice Level in at least one weapon, and carries it as a back up most times due to the unreliability of Alien Weapons in earlier years. Some members are actually more skilled with the sword, though sword wielders are rare in general do to the difficulty in making such weapons in the earliest years, only being available do to ethnicity.}

Ironwood Shield: A recent addition, this is a solid slab of wood with a layer of steel on top, meant to better protect allies against the threat of the X-REX. It's a specialized weapon only meant to be deployed when an X-REX is known, as it's weight makes it completely unsuited to fighting faster foes, and the Dragon-snakes breath fire. The Giant Snakes would just swallow you whole. Needless to say, the number of people strong enough to use it also limits it's deployment.[Not Obsolete]{Not deployed to general combat either. Only sign of something approaching a shield in the RB armory.}

Flintstone Car: Made from stone, wood, and iron, this vehicle mostly runs on it's engine and finicky parts, and some electricity. It's also complex for it's time. Recent years have decomplexified it, with it's engine and drive shafts approaching usability.  {Made to be cheap, for while they had plenty of Land, Ore and Oil only recently came to be common.}

Overload Pulse Gun: Taking from the Alien Flash Welder, this gun fires once. It's not accurate even at short range, but at Close it melts the target where it hits. Has a bad problem of breaking completely after use, and nearly impossible to recharge, making it Complex. [Completely Obsolete]

Triple-Pulse Gun: An upgrade from the prototype, this gun can be charged up, and fire three bolts of highly destructive energy. Still making use of Alien Tech to store a shortcircuit overload, but at least it doesn't need to be taken completely apart to be remade. Still has a habit of breaking down over use. [Obsolete]

Charged Pulse Makeshift Rifle: A gun that is capable of charging it's energy to make multiple shots at a lower cost. It also can be recharged and won't break down, much. It at least has a decent number of shots, so at least there is that. Actually accurate at short range, which is a huge boost over previous models. [Obsolete]

Bridge-Radar: Effectively making use of Radar systems in a semi mobile package. Sadly it's not super effective due to being made without proper infrastructure, but it does it's job of detecting enemies around it for a short range. Primarily deployed on the bridge sections to prevent surprise attacks from the local wildlife during bridge traversal, but is rather slow on that front, and of no effectiveness elsewhere currently due to being specialized for the open void around bridges and islands.{Unsuitable to forward deployment in war scenarios, but for peacetime, it is effective in upping survival during exploration and movement in the Bridges section. Short-range only.}

Social
Party Structure: Over the course of the years, the SDRB has become highly specialized in Party Tactics, operating in groups of 4 to 6 with great skill when fighting local wildlife. This translates over to some skill in groups. when it comes to melee weapons combat. Sadly not really applicable against humans in ranged combat, as guns are ranged, and bows were never really made due to the Melted Gun being available.

Raid/Raid Defense Tactics: From the beginning before they even formally named themselves, the SDRB has had to fight back against raids on them from Giant Orb Spiders. And it shows in their ability to defend a structure without taking losses. Each strike moves to the next person, allowing a crippling offense as the best defense. Later on, they applied this with primitive Ironwood Shields and alien laser weapons, along with Melee, against the X-REX to drive them off. As such, they have a good grasp of Raid-group tactics, though it may take a while to get used to fighting other humans due to overspecializing against fighting wildlife.

Melee Weapons Mastery(Amateur): A long series of battles have led to the SDRB as a whole to working well with what they can get at hand. That something has been melee weapons, with the Melted Gun being used as support only. However, it is a self-trained style for each one, with only a few sword hobbyists giving pointers in keeping yourself from being open. This does lead them to have good awareness of their surroundings in combat.

SECRET(Don't show with rest of lore, since OPSEC.)
Quote
Scrap Pulse Pistol (Cheap): Barely understood alien tech you were able to reconstruct after some difficulty. Firing modes basically break down into "Painful Burns", "Stun", and "Seriously Maim"; no "Kill" mode, though enough exposure to any of the three modes will do it. It's battery powered but the pulses of hot... stuff (maybe plasma?) use a lot of energy. Accurate up to short range, prone to malfunction. 2 Ore, 1 Oil
Final Model as of [Game Start]. Uses a battery, a revolution when it comes to this, and has multiple "Settings". As a bonus, it's a pistol.. For some reason. At least it doesn't need to charge to fire. Or break down to the point you have to scrap it for parts, though as stated, malfunctions are common. Better than completely broken though. [Obsolete]{At the time of writing this.}

Also SECRET, the fact the Flintstone Car is also Completely Obsolete now. The Bridge-Radar is also going to end up obsolete soon with MRN leading the way.

Turn 2 Revision Phase Results
Due to tied vote remaining tied, a coin flip is being made; Improved TC will be tails, ADI will be heads.
0 will be tails, 1 will be heads.

Difficult (8+4) - 1 = 11 (Average)
We further our knowledge of advanced particle and wave physics by using Solitons to move information now. Faster than radio, higher bandwidth, longer range - and when the carrier wave collapses, the signal left is still a radio wave so we don't even have to update the receivers. We quickly updated all our radio masts with the new styles of antenna. While they are high maintenance, especially with the perpetual winter Yūi experiences, cleaning snow off and checking breakers is hardly the most dangerous job in the war effort. We've even come up with a design for small outposts, or personal bunkers if one prefers, using prefabricated materials, that will house one or three workers to keep far off radio towers working. From there it's easy to expand into a bigger bunker, mini-bases, or even small towns; we'll typically keep a working population of 30 to 100 around a radio tower if we do expand any from the initial bunker. More if enough people are interested in moving in, but as we are installing most radio towers in strategically important areas that are easy to spot threats and easy to maintain a foothold in, they likely won't be seeing much of a civilian presence for now, especially considering the comforts of Yūi.

Thanks to the Mass Industrialization Project, setting up remote radio towers and the infrastructure to maintain them is laughably easy; The only tough part is figuring out how to spread them out with the resources we have to construct them. Now contact with command in any area we control is almost uninterrupted, and near to the towers the radio bandwidth is even on par with a cellular network with many more towers; video and internet over those frequencies becomes possible, even; further out, sound quality is still amazing, even if more information was not a priority.

We will be expanding most outposts into bases if we can - these towers do make obvious targets, and they need defending, especially the ones near our front lines. If we do wind up leaving any with only a couple people watching over them for longer than it takes to build more prefabs, we'll make sure they are at least located on major supply lines so they can regularly be restocked with food and goods.

Beyond which, it is also likely they were dropped here themselves by the same aliens who abducted us.
Very Difficult (Experienced) Easy (6+7) + 1 = 14 (Above Average)

Binary really isn't a language - the test subject communicating in binary just isn't communicating in an intelligible way, except they are understood by the proximal machines through their helmet. But, with some hardware updates and some new firmware, we now have the Binary Communication System, which is capable of breaking down speech to concepts, and concepts to a universal data format, which is stored as binary information. The Alien Diplomacy Initiative is a project meant to bridge the gap between languages, between species, and by creating a universal format to carry concepts of speech, we already have most of the means.

Our existing test subjects are remarkably receptive to our new system of conceptual speech being translated to them by the machines. The two subjects at our disposal - being the Blossom Yeti that still eludes our patrols, and Hana, who still has yet to relinquish the helmet prototype - have started engaging with they program, translating the language of the Blossom Yeti slowly into concepts the same way it translates Russian, Japanese, German, and the English that some of our community speak.

We quickly got a response once enough Yeti had been translated to BCS for us to turn it into words we knew, we apologized. We learned that the Yetis are clan like, and we'd been put right onto one of their ancestral breeding grounds. The attacks by their kind had been caused because they were offended by our despoiling of their holy ground - although enough breeding sites exist elsewhere for them to eventually give up, they were at least going to try and force us off their land when they thought they had no choice, no way of communicating our grave error to us. Though it wasn't exactly our choice where Yūi was put. Once diplomatic channels were open, though... well, our subject is a pariah now, forbidden to engage in recreational acts by others of his species due to the way our careless scientists mutilated him. But while their primitive culture is still animalistic and ritualistic, they possess enough rational thought that he was able to stop his pack's attacks on us. Though they are still wary of us and unwilling to agree to peace or anything about ambassadorship.

We haven't created any new implants yet - translating thoughts directly into BCS is possible, since Hana is now "talking" that way, but will require more observation and careful, considered research instead of the reckless experimentation we performed earlier. That said, we did build a device to record speech, and which casually scans surface level thoughts from whomever's head it's attached onto; not into, onto, we were very specific for now, so they are clipped to headbands close to the brain but not in it. This will break down their speech into BSC, and transmit it to other nearby BSC enabled devices - mostly other translators; and when BSC is received, it will reconstruct speech understood by the wearer. Overlapping voices may be a problem, as the translator device doesn't have the ability to cancel out noise, but it is headphone compatible, so one can wear a noise canceling headset with their translator to understand others with translators. This is effective in bridging the language barriers among our own people, at least.

While our universal translator design is better than the rudimentary one we had, and while it doesn't seem to have immediate results testing on non-humans besides the Blossom Yeti we once had captive, we have put them on some creatures that seem non-aggressive so far and are hoping for the best. We will seek out anything we can study which has the capacity to use BSC, and seek to make diplomatic agreements with them. And if they agree to be subjects in ARC-CRAFT, we hope to eventually use the information we've gained from both these projects to create useful implants.

Base Light Skell

Okay. We have ARC-CRAFT with notes on large cyberentics, a Universal Data Format, and translators. And universal sockets for prosthetic.

The Skell(for Skeleton), is the basis for a mobile suit piloted by the user. Using Titanium along with other metals in its construction, the basis is meant to create a type of hydraulic/pneumatic skeleton, controlled by the pilot. From there, supports will be used to make it stand and be able to carry weight. We'll add the cockpit for the Pilot during this. All very basic. And make sure it has pretty of strength to carry and swing heavy weaponry. Though as the Light Model, it is the first of it's kind, and can't be expected to be able to take heavy-duty punishment. It will however be light on it's feet, and have a low fuel cost for operations.

Another feature is the inclusion of a mecha-shift, being able to fold up to form a vehicle, and reform into it's standing configuration. The Light Model's Configuration is that of a Cylce, with the tires folded up on the back, able to extend during transformation and link, while the legs and arms fold into the body.

Honestly, that's about it. This is very much a prototype to get the structure down. Future Versions will be Light, Medium, and Heavy Models. The Basic Skell Light Model will use steel for it's armor/plating pieces, which go on the body of the Skell itself. The idea is to use the parts for the mecha-shift as the joints for the body. It will have a full range of human motion, including the ability to grip. As the Skell frame has the armor and parts attached to it, Skells are highly modular in nature. The Frame is, after all, just muscles and bone and nerves. Extremely Durable ones, but that nonetheless.

Well, we'd best get to brass tacks, the systems themselves. The head of the Skell is a Light-based camera, capable of seeing in full vision, and sending the sight to the cockpit. The Cockpit itself is a full titanium shell, with seat, controls for finer motion control and fire, and LCD Display, curved around to give a full view of what the Skell sees ahead of it. Likeiwse, the Pilot enters while the Skell is lowered by kneeling, as plates and screen part. The front effectively has three pieces of armor when closed, and the screen does have slight lines where they part.

Programming is a bit simple. The entire seat where the Pilot sits, and a helmet both for protection, and a suit which helps record nervous responses. This is a far better version of the headband made for the BCS. The Pilot's will controls the Skell's movement. It takes a while to get used to, but once you've gone through training, you should be able to pilot it easily.

As an aside, this training is done inside a Dummy Skell. The screens show a type of program, as the Virtual Skell moves as the real one would according to the user. Including falls, broken Skell limbs, that sort of thing. This training allows a simulation not unlike that of aircraft simulators. Which is important, since it lets us refine the translation between Skell and Pilot, and prevents expensive Skells from being wrecked. While being in parts makes replacement somewhat easy, those parts themselves can be expensive to replace. Thankfully, repair is a lot simpler, with even wrecked Skells being able to be repaired in time, so long as they are brought back.

Radio is included with the Soliton Wave for communications. The LCD screens, other than including sight, also are the Skell's diagnostics screens, a HUD. This can keep track of Fuel, ammo remaining, and diagnostics of the damage to the Skell itself. This also helps quite a bit with repair and upkeep, since the info can be sent to a terminal in bay when it's in dock.

The Light Skell kinda moves like a human. A very agile human. Capable of jumps, and fast movement. Likewise, it's cycle form has the tires from the STAR-Transverse , suitable sized to it for the best grip. Fuel cost is negligible outside of combat, as quite a few weapons require fuel to be used, and weapons won't be in use outside of combat, so the extra energy needed to swing them around won't be active. The Skell also has the Universal Sockets, and arms and legs can be detached if they become too damaged to operate. This same modularity is also what makes it a good model, as making arms, legs, and a torso is a lot simpler than a single mech. The programming is also in the Universal Data Format, Binary meant to covey orders. Which means the users own mind and will only has to go through a single step to translate for operation.

The Base Skell is a marvel, being based on the human body, and suited for the human body to pilot. In cases where it's lost legs and/or arms, it can still transform, as only the torso and tires are needed for that, as that is where the fuel cells are, and make a quick escape. It should be noted that if the Torso is damaged to destruction, the Skell becomes inoperable. In this case, the pilot can eject out behind the back of the head, through a booster beneath the pilot's seat, and keep on fighting. In this case, the Skell itself becomes a wall to use.

Ah, power is one thing we haven't talked about. Well, we do have the New Age Power Cells. We can make them big enough, and insert them through the back slots for the energy needed. It's entirely electrical powered. This is the point I'd mention that the frame itself has no armor beyond armoring the nessacery components in the torso, again. So the back armor parts need to be removed to refuel it. This can be done with cables though, once the batteries are in. Likewise, the Back is not as well protected. Mostly due to it being slated for a weapons platform coming down from the shoulders, and needing to keep the tires and other transforming parts back there. It also has an exhaust point, to keep the Skell cool during heavy weapons use.

Though, we didn't design any yet. We kinda need the Skell to design weapons for it. And the Skell itself is about 30 to 40 feet tall... The head itself is a heavily protected module itself, and has a lot of redundancies, including it's own area radar in cases where the Camera is broken. And also shines with light. Last, we do have safety lights on all Skells, which are added on after the fact.

Well, Xenoblade X rears it's difficulty covered head yet again. On the other hand, mobile tanks. And the pleasure of cutting through any other enemies with laz-blade weapons eventually. The Skell is meant to be the base model, and adding armor plates can be done with MIP. So it's up to us at ARC-CRAFT to make sure the coding is ready. We did make a cybernetic arm for the Blossom Yeti, so something similar can wield results.

This is effectively a step-forward design. We can afford it. Our other design needs to be something else, same or not, it doesn't matter. I'd go with a properly designed kinetic weapon we can wield, which can then likely be upsized to Skell usage. And as it's an indiviual weapon, it will only be limited by the Skells available to deploy it. And MIP let's us do such a project, hopefully. Really too bad about the Alien Credit, but earth engineering can do it with the BCS Universal Language. Direct Control is nice.

Hmm... Actually, this design is big enough that putting it in two sections might be better.

Skell-frame Engineering Team
Refer to Base Light Skell Design for notes.

The proposed Skell Project is huge. The designers voted to split it into two teams. One team to build the Skell mechanically, and the other to handle the Pilot-Skell Translation programming. Due to the Modular nature of the Skell, it isn't a huge issue splitting the workload.

The Skell-frame Engineering Team's job is to design, stress-test, and engineer the Skell's Frame itself. From the Pnuemonics and hydralics, the power source and escape system, the cameras. From the Legs, to the Arms, and the Head. As well as the base for where the pilot seat and cockpit will go, the Torso, along with the Rechargeable/changeable Batteries for it's fuel and exahaust ports on the back. Along with the mecha-shift option for the Cycle mode. And the Weapons platform extending on the Torso's shoulders/back for later.

Likewise, they will also design the armor plates that will go on after the Skell-frame is complete and working, and the diagnostics system and programming for movement, as well as making sure the mecha-shift can hold up while armored or equipped. It will be up to the programming team to create the Cockpit.

Nervous Translation System Universal Programming Team
Refer to Base Light Skell Design for notes.

The NTS. A suit, helmet, and Seat which together can read a person's mind and translate it to BCS, a universal format. And through this, control a machine many times larger than them successfully.

Likewise, they are also handling the LCD screens, and most of the Cockpit's systems. No weapons systems, simply movement translation from a sitting position. They''ll be working with the Skell-frame Engineering team, but mostly there job is to create an external reader which the pilot can use. As well as a Skell-simulator for training new pilots to use it in the machine, during the latter half of the project.

The NTS isn't only capable of being used in the Skell. It can also be used to reduce weight on aircraft, or adjustments of artillery. Anything with an electrical connection programmed to receive NTS Commands. For now though, they need to complete the programming. These two projects, as one, will create the base of something amazing.

Split the Base Light Skell Project into two Designs, the Skell-Frame Engineering Team, and the NTS UP Team: (1) TricMagic

As a note to Flabort. The first project, the engineering team, can complete a Skeel Frame. However, without the NTS UP Team's design, the Skell can't really be used. The same is not true of the NTS however. Even if the Skell Frame can't be used, the NTS is a viable design on it's own to use later on.

The Urban will likely be the result, as it's likely the easier of the two, being flat planes of armor. The Formula would be the cheapest, being one of the lightest armored ones, but also the fasted and most agile.

In the end though, maybe roll? Though of them all, the Formula is only a skeleton and some armor.

Quote from: From Formula Page
Description
Formula is a custom Light Frame based Skell model and the standard deployed model. This frame is the basis for all the Skell models. It is a lightweight model specializing in high-speed combat, with a two-wheeled vehicle mode that is likewise light and speedy.

And the other two.

Quote from: From Verus Page
Description
Verus is a custom Light Frame based Skell model with an output that rivals a Medium Frame model's. However, this model's very high performance is offset by its Fuel capacity, stemming from its light frame.

Its standard equipment is the shoulder-mounted "G-Buster", specially developed alongside this model building.

Quote from: From Urban Page
Description
Urban is a custom Light Frame based Skell model specially produced for urban deployment. This model has high durability and combat performance, but its reinforced armor reduces its maneuverability and operating time.

However, in vehicle mode its maneuverability and operating time are excellent, owing to its Light Frame design.

At the end of the day, simply having a framework would be ideal. We can use it to produce new models with designs.

Sitting in the wooden building, notes and recordings are being gone over, being translated slowly but surely.

「はい、それは素晴らしいことです。」

«Da, eto bylo by zdorovo».
Quote
"Huh, such fools. They have all the water in the world."
"I can't wait to prepare for everything."
"Yes, that would be great."

Run it through the translator a few more times and.....

Quote
"Huh, stultorum similis illi. Non enim omnis aqua in mundo."
"Ego potest non expectare donec praeparet omnia".
"Ita est, ut magna."

"Wrong language. ... Change that part's tense."

Quote
"هاه ، مثل هؤلاء الحمقى. لديهم كل الماء في العالم."
"لا استطيع الانتظار للتحضير لكل شيء."
"نعم ، سيكون ذلك رائعًا."

The translator does a few more things. Until....

"Right, so that's the meaning. " a sigh.

He uses his phone to make a call.

"Hello, Zima."
...
"Yeah, I've translated this part successfully. I'm sending it over to you, but the basis is that they seem to be planning to invade for water."
...
"Yeah, it is rather stupid. Not to mention.."

This goes on for a bit before he hangs up.

"Well, guess I better put the other languages through. That Australian in particular is rather incomprehensible."

Thanks to breakthroughs recently, a single worker can easily translate languages by themselves. With the addition of the improvements to their radio network, they've also made leaps towards data storage and transfer, easily allowing the information on the languages to be stored for later. Best of all, no-one on the other side of the diplomacy table realizes this, giving them a huge advantage in the information department. Even now, a team is working on a way to completely code communications to prevent those who catch the radio signals from being able to understand it. Especially useful due to there being no Japanese speakers on the other two sides they've made contact with.

Lore: Time-Sometime after the beginning of Turn 3- Musings on collected information from other Homo Sapiens.

It's been 10 years, but finally, we have lights. This last winter not only brought us out of the dark ages, bought also saw the creation of radio towers. And further, we used our newfound abilities to craft not only an amazing vehicle, but to improve our radio to the point beyond modern radio towers. We even have internet, though most of it is E-Mail and transferring designs among everyone.

Still, from the recent translations, it seems not all is peaceful. Over the abyss lies a Nuclear Power Plant that has been running a long time, and over the mountains lies a wasteland with people mad for water. Some of our Radio Towers have caught on to snippets of conversations. The Rayleigh Confederation is perfectly willing to poison the land to kill others, and the Sujia are more than willing to kill everyone else just to have water to themselves. On both sides we find that races other than humans are more sensible than our supposed Homo Sapiens.

Still, the information has also revealed some major weaknesses. Time will tell if we can rally other races to take advantage of them if they attack one another.

Potentia Casus Belli: Self-Defensio a Furibunda Men, tutela elit.
