We could use the round terminology and then use it to nerf scavenger. Or, failing that, you can just say "At the end of your turn, gain 1 star" which does the same thing.

We could also lean on the difference MTG points out between the owner and controller of the card. The Owner is the player who brought it into the game, such as in the deck, whilst the controller is the one who currently has it in their hand/deck/discard/field.

Thus whilst Iridium would be the Controller of Traitor in Command, Supernerd is still it's Owner, and thus Traitor in Command can't attack until the beginning of Supernerd's turn. It can't attack outside of it's controllers turn, obviously, so it'll be next turn that Iridium can attack with it.

I draw a card. I play a bear cub, then use one star to make it a bear. I then attack the Deathknight with Traitor in Command.

Before I take my turn, I will point out two things. First is that the GM ruling is that you actually CAN attack with Traitor in Command. Choosing not to is also a legal action of course if you have some kind of plan in mind.

The Bear Cub's effect specifies that you can pay a star at the start of your turn. Start being the key word. This means you would be unable to do this until your next turn.

I'll give you a chance to correct your most recent turn based on this information.

wait, you can't play more than one card per turn unless the card says you can, right?

Correct. You can only play one card per turn unless stated otherwise.

An example is, if a card says it does not count towards the limit per turn, then it can be played before or after a regular card during your turn.
Another example is if a card says to play another card, that card would need to be played before a regular card.

VS Iridium64

I don't imagine that card will see much use in future games. I'll draw a card...

Now I will play Twisted Necromancer at the cost of 3 stars!
(This is pretty much the last thing you want me to have in play)

Its ability allows me to play a card from my discard pile once per turn without it counting to my turn limit. I will then play Mortician of Ill Repute from my discard!

Since I played it again, I discard the top three cards in my deck!
Spoiler: discarded (click to show/hide)

Corpserot Disease's on discard effect triggers! 1 damage is dealt to Traitor in Command!

I will now attack Bear Cub with Vengeful Spirit, destroying them both!

This ends my turn.

...aw, crap. I don't even know how to respond to that.

I draw a card, and play Nefarious Tactics.

VS Iridium64

First I'll draw a card...

Now I have to give you two cards. I will give you these two!
You will notice that the addition of "The first time this card is destroyed it goes into your opponent's discard pile" has a certain synergy with the cards you got from that.
Spoiler: Nefarious Tactics (click to show/hide)

I will attack Traitor in Command with Mortician of Ill Repute to destroy both cards.
I then attack you directly with Twisted Necromancer and Deathknight to deal 5 and 5 damage!

I activate Twisted Necromancer's effect to play a card from my discard pile. I choose Call of the Grave!

I will discard just this one card! Roll is 1 so you lose 2 hearts, dropping you down to zero!
Spoiler: Discarded (click to show/hide)

Unless you have a counter to that, this ends the game. For the record, my plan was to use the star gained from discarding Endless Horde to use Apprentice Necromancer's (A card that was in my hand that I could still play) effect to bring out the Ferret from your discard pile and use its ability to attack on the turn it was played to finish you, but that turned out to not be necessary.

(At first I thought of just discarding everything to maximize the chance of rolling that effect at least once, but the ferret was a sure thing)

I'd like to make a second deck now. I'm still using the Lego one in the first thread for now, but I have an idea I want to put to use and I don't think I can fit it into my existing deck.

So yeah. Think you got a general feel for how the game works now? If you want to get your own deck, you can submit the information for the cards you want to either me or notquitethere. Its okay if you don't know exactly how to balance the card, and you can use terms like "strong" or "weak" for stats.

Looks like you were getting the hang of it. The decks aren't all perfectly balanced, so it was a bit tough going against supernerd. Feel free to play someone else with Forest again, or build a new deck, or try Anarchy.

I think the Death Knight needs to have a base expense a bit higher, considering having 5 things on the board is very easy.

Admittedly, Deathknight has been a bit more easily exploited than I anticipated initially. People play cards that put a lot of weak cards in play.
