I think a good half of the worlds I generate have this. I guess it's just winter time when the world comes into being.

Most of my worlds are something like this, though I', not sure if I've seen the snow go up quite that far before.  What I wondered was why the top of the map isn't frozen.  Are the worlds generated only from the equator down?

sorry i've just never seen a world so evenly divided and with so much snow and ice, everywhere i go are glaciers and ice and melting damn everything

the rivers on this map are ridiculous, you can't see across them in adventure mode and they turn my computer into a pile of rubble with as much water is going through them, it was pretty impressive to me :P

The worlds also tend to randomly decide upon whether the frozen bit will be to the north or south. Once again, it seems to be roughly a 50/50 chance your civ will be on a northern or southern hemisphere.
