<<< Download - Meph's Training Rooms  >>>
- Win/Mac/Linux - V.1.0 - For DF.44.12 -

This mod allows you to train any dwarf you like in any skill. It adds 20 workshops that have a free, but slow, reaction that trains the skill you pick; be it labors like mining or woodcutting; fighting skills like macedwarf or armor-user; social skills like negotiating or concentration; mathematics or geography; music and writing; or even unused skills like druid or balance.

The workshops are sorted into three categories: Guilds to train labors, requiring two chairs and two tables to be build; Libraries to train social skills, requiring two quires and two bookcases to be build; and Training Rooms for military skills, requiring two armorstands and two weaponracks.

To train a skill, simply run any of the reactions, they do not cost any reagents. They give 30xp every time, which means that to go from Dabbling to Novice, a dwarf would have to repeat it 17 times. To get to Talented, 150 times. To get to Legendary+5, just a meager 967 times.

Here a full table with all skill levels:

Installation:
 - Download, unpack, drag & drop.
 - You need to generate a new world.
 - The graphics require TWBT/dfhack, I included a 32x32 and a 16x16 version.

The mod is designed to be used with the Meph Tileset, which will include it as an optional feature from now on. But I thought people might be interested in this without the tileset, so here you go.

Huh, this actually looks pretty neat. I've been planning to do an art-heavy fort and was debating on what else to include, and it seems I found a useful thing to add. Cheers for that Meph.  :)

That misc workshop sheet is pretty long. Lets see if it could be shortened:

Hm, Leader might better fit under military tactics workshop than misc skills one.

Reader might fit under Scholar. Student/Teacher...Have links to both. Concentration is exclusively military skill though.

Tracker is somewhat adventure, somewhat scholarly skill, dwarves with observer usually start researching tracking topics alongside it and record-keeping iirc.

Pretty nice pictures; I like how the workshop tiles create uniform rooms even when placed next to each other.
