That was well fought. I thought Chu would have it, but they slipped control over the capital. I had some lucky breaks early on, but ultimately my lands were too stretched out with too many places to defend to be able to effectively contest it from the mid-game on.

NQT had a fantastic early game, though I feel less by luck and more by outright cunning. But, once you hit both me and Kashyyk, it forced us into an alliance (which *I* stuck to to the very end! :(). From that point, we actually set it to be a race to who could get the win first without direct confrontation. That made life really difficult for NQT, but honestly? Two key battles that actually was in NQT's favour that luck decided to say no to: the attempt on Tang with 10 rice to my 8 and the attempt on neutral Zhuang with 15 rice. Either of those fall, and it all looks VERY different. So honestly? Unlucky NQT!

Kashyyk was a crafty statesman getting that ceasefire to fight Doomblade. That saved his left flank, bought time in the race and forced me to win the proxy war with NQT so to speak. The fact I did gave me a chance to win at all (my initial slow start meant, all I wanted from the alliance was me to be a kingdom and live to the end :P). I don't THINK I could have fought NQT better after the ceasefire, without instead COMPLETELY relying on rolls, which I dislike cos RNG tends to hate me :P. It could be argued I needed to keep Quwo and go for the win. The problem with that was, I was already stretched thin in the assault and defense to keep a continuous empire, and looking back on it, I think it would have failed anyway. I needed 1 more turn bought by Doomblade to win the race.

Really good game. NQT, was an honour to have fought on the battlefield. Kashyyk, was an honour to have an honourable ally, almost to the very end :P.

Thanks Haspen for running it. I enjoyed the game as much as I enjoyed making up PM titles :D

You would also probably have much better shot at winning if Doomblade187, to quote:

I forgot they could attack me as well. Oops.

I had a laugh when I saw his orders back then, not gonna lie :P
