You move in to follow after the police, and you go quickly. However, soon enough, you find yourself stopped, the police have the road ahead of you blocked off.

"Hey kid, we uh, we can't let you through here. 'S not safe. People goin' crazy not far up ahead, running into walls and crashing cars." Says a large male officer. Indeed, over the sound of the sirens you can hear the noises of panicked people.

As you rush outside, nobody stops you. Probably assuming that you, much like the other man, have loved ones potentially caught up in this incident. Speaking of the man, you see him running quickly to the scene of the event.

Limited success.

You and the man approach the scene at a great pace. So great, in fact, that you don't notice his sudden shock and stop in time, and continue moving. Suddenly you find that the city in front of you is replaced with a dense, dark, and foggy forest. You turn around and the city behind you is untouched, but to your left and right you can see buildings almost cut open by the divide. You hear sounds from deeper within... whispers, screams, and other, barely definable noises that you very much hope aren't from something alive.

Success... barely.

You push at your power. Instinctively you know you've gained this ability, yet you realize you have no idea how to use it. It takes a long process of trial and error, practically the whole hour. But by the time you're done, it's worked, mostly. There's no guarantee what the commands are, or indeed, if they will be in a language the listener can understand. Still though, you've done it, even if it took you the entirety of an hour to do.

"Well uh, the nearest library is probably in the danger zone back there I think, but uh, for the next closest, you go back down Pavonia Ave, onto Newark, then you take a left off of Newark onto 8th street, and just walk down there. You can't miss it."

You look around a bit, and see that Pavonia is indeed the street you're on. So you head there. Not stopping as Stronger Than You, clearly bored out of their mind, trips up random passers-bye.

You arrive without a fuss, and start looking through the newspapers. What you find can roughly be summarized as the events of a comic book. Mutants, superheroes, aliens, the whole works. It seems that Stands are not the only thing you have to worry about.

And get out of there you do. On your way out, you notice that the forest is still there, and that as you move, you see it down other streets as well. Police have moved in to block off most of the roads, it seems you got 'lucky' enough to run into one of the ones that they hadn't reached yet. By the time you stop, you think you'd run a good mile or so back in the direction of the pub.

You continue moving, finding a decently sized grouping of people that has gathered near a police blockade. You're not sure you'd call it a crowd, not a big one at least, but there's definitely people here that you can group in with. Not too far past the blockade, you can see the forest.

You mingle in with the crowd, sorta just falling in line with the general words being said already. Unfortunately, this leads to, well, blending in with the crowd.

Suddenly you notice something, something you're not sure anyone else has noticed considering their non-reactions. The Forest is moving. The trees are staying in their positions, but the borders of the forest seem to be expanding towards you.

Reaction.

As the forest moves, you calm yourself. You don't want to give anything else away, and you focus your efforts more on starting up individual conversations.

You manage to pick up a couple of things before the border reaches you. Crochet, basketball, lockpicking.  Nothing useful in a fight, but that last one might be something you can make use of.

Then it hits. First the police begin to panic, then the civilians begin to respond in kind, some backing away, others questioning what's happening, then the forest finally reaches your position and the real panic begins. People start running, moving in different directions. You see people who weren't even there with you in the places where buildings once where.

And then, it suddenly backs off again, and when it does, what you see is people who you had watched run into the distance instead having their faces rubbing against walls, crying out in pain with various scrapes and bruises, and people who had backed up against trees falling to the ground in the trees absence.

As you wander, you observe the others around you. However, you don't find many people alive, it seems anyone who got caught in it either killed themselves from unseen injuries, or where far enough away to escape.

You spend the hour scouring through the library, convinced that there would be something special here. Unfortunately, by the end of the hour, you've found nothing, and you can feel the aggrevation radiating off of Stronger Than You.
