Too many inherited titles

A bunch of my dwarves became barons by inheriting the titles. These were migrants, and I have no idea what is happening to the forts they came from to cause all their parents to die like this. But now I'm stuck with 4 barons, and they have all their pointless demands... shouldn't they go off and rule their lands instead of bossing dwarves around in my fort? This feels a bit silly.

If you retired your fortress im sure you probably could, but you can't exile them due to their nobility and they can't really leave without you really saying so.

Its sort of a sticky problem i can see like you say. It'd be nice if you could press the ownership of land this way under your fortress to encourage having a lot of barons and hence a lot of towns under your control without having to economically link or conquer them.

I'll just send them off to conquer a tiny goblin settlement... that should solve things without needing to resort to lava.
